Abstract Lead-halide perovskites have established a firm foothold in photovoltaics and optoelectronics due to their steadily increasing power conversion efficiencies approaching conventional inorganic single-crystal semiconductors. However, further performance improvement requires reducing defect-assisted, nonradiative recombination of charge carriers in the perovskite layers. A deeper understanding of perovskite formation and associated process control is a prerequisite for effective defect reduction. In this study, we analyze the crystallization kinetics of the lead-halide perovskite MAPbI

Abstract In this report, atlantooccipital assimilation (AS), anterior arch defect (AAD), and posterior arch defect (PAD) of the atlas, and several variations around the craniocervical junction were identified on computed tomography (CT) of a patient of unknown sex and age. Coronal and sagittal CT scans showed AS and bilateral fusion of the atlas and the base of occipital bone. Axial CT scan at the atlas revealed PAD type B on the left side and midline AAD. Morphometric measurements indicated a potential ventral spinal cord compression. In addition, mid-sagittal CT revealed the presence of fossa navicularis magna and incomplete formation of the transverse foramen on the right side. This study reports an extremely rare AS associated with AAD, PAD, and other variations of the clivus and the atlas. To our knowledge, no similar case has been reported in the literature.

Abstract Purpose: To analyze the effect of orthodontic treatment combined with bone level implant in repairing dentition defect.
Methods: The data of 88 patients with single dental implant in mandibular posterior region who were treated for dentition defect from January 2020 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, including 44 patients with bone level implant repair(control group) and 44 patients with orthodontic treatment combined bone level implant repair (experimental group). The success rate of implant implantation, periodontal health status, masticatory function, implant stability, postoperative complications and implant satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS 18.0 software package.
Results: There was no significant difference in the success rate of implant implantation at 3 months and 6 months between the two groups(P>0.05). The success rate of implant implantation at 12 months in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The gingival sulci bleeding index (SBI) and probing depth (PD) of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group at 12 months after implantation (P<0.05), and there was no significant different in bone absorption between the two groups at 12 months after implantation(P>0.05). The EMG activities of masseter muscle and temporal muscle in the two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05), and those of masseter muscle and temporal muscle in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The implant stability coefficient values of 6 months and 12 months in 2 groups were significantly higher than those of 3 months (P<0.05), the implant stability coefficient values of 12 months in 2 groups were significantly higher than those of 6 months and 12 months in 2 groups (P<0.05), and the implant stability coefficient values of 6 months and 12 months in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the total complication rate between the two groups (P>0.05). The implant satisfaction of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusions: Orthodontic treatment combined with bone level implants can improve the success rate of implantation and masticatory efficiency, enhance the periodontal health of implants, and increase the patients' satisfaction with implants.

Abstract Introduction: Congenital heart diseases (CHDs) are one of the most common birth defects worldwide with a prevalence of 1%. CHDs can be classified into cyanotic and acyanotic diseases based on the presence or absence of the characteristic bluish discoloration of skin and mucus membranes. A subset of cyanotic diseases is single ventricle malformations. This group of disorders comprises 1% of all CHDs. A remarkable yet rare and underreported entity of single ventricle malformations is combined tricuspid atresia (TA) and atrioventricular (AV) septal defect which is characterized by the anatomical features of both entities. Combined TA-AV septal malformation was first anatomically described in 1953 and further explored through echocardiography and cardiac catheterization in 1987 and then 1991. Since then, no studies have been documented in the literature prompting us to share our findings.
Methods: Herein we are describing a rare and underreported cardiac lesion based of a retrospective revision of medical charts at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) Children's Heart Center, a tertiary medical center in the Middle East RESULTS: Out of 200 cases with confirmed single ventricle physiology, we identified a few patients with characteristics of combined TA-AV septal defect. Our patients exhibited characteristic echocardiographic findings of primum ASD, VSD, atretic RAVV, and clefted LAVV.
Conclusion: In short, TA-AV septal defect is a rare, underreported congenital malformation. Tracking our patients' clinical profiles will help improve our understanding of the prognosis of this entity. Our findings may also improve treatment modalities since replacing the left-sided valve is often overlooked if the defect is inaccurately diagnosed. In addition, such findings can help shed light on the embryological development of the rarely encountered variation of AV septal malformation.

Abstract Objectives: To assess the function of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) both only and in combination with bioactive glass in intrabony defects.
Materials and method: Twenty patients were split into two groups with 10 samples each: group I with PRP alone, whereas group II was done with PRP in addition to bioactive glass. Following local anesthesia, full-thickness mucoperiosteal flaps were elevated in the afflicted site, the defect was debrided, and root planning with curettes was performed. Irrigation was then used while in group II- PRP along with bone graft (BG) preservationwas done. Suturing in group I was contained. At day 0 (baseline) and 6 months after surgery, the clinical parameters for probing depth, clinical attachment stage, and radiographic assessment were noted for both groups.
Result: When comparing both groups, there was no statistically considerable variation. However, the intragroup comparison for pocket depth and clinical attachment level between baseline and 6 months was significant. Radiographic bone level was not considerably dissimilar across groups; however, it was significantly different between groups.
Conclusion: Reduced probing depth, higher clinical attachment level, and radiographic evidence of bone fill are clinical outcome measures that are associated with effective regenerative therapy.

Case report: We report on the first COXPD21 patient with generalized tubular dysfunction and early childhood progression to chronic kidney disease (CKD). Thorough diagnostic evaluation was initiated at six months of age due to failure to thrive, muscular hypotonia, motor delay and recurrent bronchiolitis. The boy was lost to follow-up until the age of two years, when he was readmitted with elevated creatinine level, reduced estimated glomerular filtrate rate, normochromic anaemia, metabolic acidosis and hyperkalaemia. Urine abnormalities pointed to generalized tubular dysfunction. Two novel heterozygous missense variants in
