Abstract The effect of a-SiC x N y :H encapsulation layers, which are prepared using the very-high-frequency plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (VHF-PECVD) technique with SiH 4 , CH 4 , and NH 3 as the precursors, on the stability and photoluminescence of CsPbBr 3 quantum dots (QDs) were investigated in this study. The results show that a-SiCxNy:H encapsulation layers containing a high N content of approximately 50% cause severe PL degradation of CsPbBr 3 QDs. However, by reducing the N content in the a-SiCxNy:H layer, the PL degradation of CsPbBr 3 QDs can be significantly minimized. As the N content decreases from around 50% to 26%, the dominant phase in the a-SiCxNy:H layer changes from SiNx to SiCxNy. This transition preserves the inherent PL characteristics of CsPbBr 3 QDs, while also providing them with long-term stability when exposed to air, high temperatures (205 °C), and UV illumination for over 600 days. This method provided an effective and practical approach to enhance the stability and PL characteristics of CsPbBr 3 QD thin films, thus holding potential for future developments in optoelectronic devices.

Abstract Background: The oral chicken immunoglobulin Y (IgY) as a novel model of immunotherapy to control Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori, Hp) infection has gained much interest in recent years. However, none of the current IgY therapies showed a total eradication of H. pylori on patients.
Methods: In this report, the recombinant antigens of H. pylori, including UreB (1710 bp), BabA2 (1269 bp), and FlaA (399 bp), were, respectively, expressed and purified, and then mixed and subjected to immunize laying hens for the preparation of multivalent anti-H. pylori immunoglobulin Y (anti-Hp mIgY). Next, the biological activities of anti-Hp mIgY, including the recognition to antigens and the inhibition on H. pylori growth, were tested. Moreover, to perform a clinical trial, 94 Hp-infected patients, according to the values of
Results: The anti-Hp mIgY could bind to recombinant antigens very well, and the titers of anti-Hp mIgY to UreB, Baba2, and FlaA, are 62.5, 125, and 250 μg/ml, respectively. The in vitro antibacterial test showed that the 2 mg/ml of anti-Hp mIgY could completely inhibit the H. pylori growth for 36 h. After a 2-week dietary of anti-Hp mIgY, the value of
Conclusion: Two-week dietary of anti-Hp mIgY greatly improved the clinical symptoms and the quality of life of Hp-infected patients, and the H. pylori eradication rate reached up to 30.6%.

Abstract: ... sagittata var. yunnanensis (S. Y. Hu) H. S. Lo (TSY) is widely used to treat sore throat, stomach pain, bone ...

Abstract Ethnopharmacology relevance: As a Yi medicine for eliminating wind to relieve pain, Tinospora sagittata var. yunnanensis (S. Y. Hu) H. S. Lo (TSY) is widely used to treat sore throat, stomach pain, bone and muscle injuries, and tumors; however, the material basis and mechanism of action remain unclear.
Aim of the study: This study aims to investigate the potential active compounds of TSY and related pharmacological mechanisms against gastric cancer using a multitarget strategy.
Materials and methods: The main chemical components of TSY were collected through a literature review and database searches. The components were further screened for ADMET properties, and their targets were predicted using network pharmacology (admetSAR) and substructure-drug-target network-based inference (SDTNBI) approaches in silico. The pharmacological mechanism of action of TSY extract for pain relief, sedation, and anti-gastric cancer activities were identified via in vivo and in vitro biochemical analyses.
Results: Here, 28 chemical components were identified, 7 active compounds were selected, and 75 targets of TSY extract were predicted. A compound-target-disease network topological approach revealed that the predicted targets are highly related to the digestive system and nervous system. Network pharmacology results suggested that the anti-gastric cancer activity of TSY was highly correlated with its analgesic and sedative targets and MAPK. In vivo experiments confirmed that TSY extract not only reduced the number of voluntary activities in the mouse model but also exhibited a synergistic effect on sodium pentobarbital-induced sleep, reduced the number of mice exhibiting writhing responses to acetic acid, and increased the hot plate pain threshold of mice. Thus, TSY extract exhibits good analgesic and sedative effects. The TSY extract inhibited HGC-27 cell proliferation and induced apoptosis by regulating apoptotic proteins (BAX, BCL-2 and BCL-XL) in vitro.
Conclusions: TSY exhibits combined analgesic, sedative, and anti-gastric cancer activities.

Abstract A2B7 compounds (A = rare earth or Mg, B = transition metal) are widely studied as active materials for negative electrode in Ni-MH batteries. By playing on the substitution rate of both A and B elements, it is possible to prepare various compositions. This strategy will help to improve the properties, for example get a higher reversible hydrogen capacity and a well-adapted hydrogen sorption pressure. Indeed, A can be almost all light rare earths (La to Gd), yttrium and alkaline earth metals (Mg or Ca), whereas B can contain various late transition metals (Mn to Ni). To understand the effects of composition on the physicochemical properties of La2Ni7-based compound, various pseudo-binary systems have been investigated: Gd2 xLaxNi7 (x = 0, 0.6, 1, 1.5), Sm2-xLaxNi7 (x = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5), Y2-xLaxNi7 (x = 0, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, 1, 1.5, 1.75) and A0.5La1.1Mg0.4Ni7 (A = Sm, Gd and Y). To determine their crystallographic properties, X-ray diffraction analysis was performed followed by Rietveld refinement. Thermodynamic properties regarding reversible hydrogen sorption were investigated at room temperature. Quaternary compounds present drastically improved sorption properties in the frame of practical energy storage applications with reversible capacity equivalent to 400 mAh/g for the compound La1.1Sm0.5Mg0.4Ni7.

Abstract Triple (H + /O 2− /e − ) conducting oxides (TCOs) have been extensively investigated as the most promising cathode materials for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) because of their excellent catalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and fast proton transport. However, here we report a stable twin-perovskite nanocomposite Ba-Co-Ce-Y-O (BCCY) with triple conducting properties as a conducting accelerator in semiconductor ionic fuel cells (SIFCs) electrolytes. Self-assembled BCCY nanocomposite is prepared through a complexing sol–gel process. The composite consists of a cubic perovskite (Pm-3m) phase of BaCo 0.9 Ce 0.01 Y 0.09 O 3-δ and a rhombohedral perovskite (R-3c) phase of BaCe 0.78 Y 0.22 O 3-δ . A new semiconducting–ionic conducting composite electrolyte is prepared for SIFCs by the combination of BCCY and CeO 2 (BCCY-CeO 2 ). The fuel cell with the prepared electrolyte (400 μm in thickness) can deliver a remarkable peak power density of 1140 mW·cm −2 with a high open circuit voltage (OCV) of 1.15 V at 550 °C. The interface band energy alignment is employed to explain the suppression of electronic conduction in the electrolyte. The hybrid H + /O 2− ions transport along the surfaces or grain boundaries is identified as a new way of ion conduction. The comprehensive analysis of the electrochemical properties indicates that BCCY can be applied in electrolyte, and has shown tremendous potential to improve ionic conductivity and electrochemical performance.

Some xenon hydrides, such as HXeY (Y = Cl, Br, I) and their hydrogen-bonded complexes HXeY···HX (Y = Cl, Br, I; X = OH, Cl, Br, I, CN, CCH), have been identified in matrixes by observing H-Xe frequencies or its monomer-to-complex blue shifts. However, the H-Xe bonding in HXeY is not yet completely understood. Previous theoretical studies provide two answers. The first one holds that it is a classical covalent bond, based on a single ionic structure H-Xe
