Abstract A new species of Scorpiops Peters, 1861 is described from Wuxi and Wushan County, Chongqing City, China. The new species is mainly characterized by a moderate size, in relation to the other species of genus, with dark reddish-brown to reddish-black coloration; 15-17 (usually 17) external trichobothria (5 eb, 1-2 esb, 1-2 em, 4 est, 4 et), 8-11 (usually 10) ventral trichobothria in the pedipalp patella and 4-5 (usually 5) ventral trichobothria on chela; pedipalp chela fingers are scalloped in males and nearly straight in females. With the present description the number of known species of Scorpiops recorded from China is raised to 33.

Abstract It has been a long time since people recognized the word "Ma Zhui (anesthesia)" which was also recorded in the medical literature of past generations, for example: anesthesia powder, the magic prescription of toad powder of Huatuo, magic sleeping powder, 'knock-out' drops etc. In 1846, etherization was applied in clinic successfully, since then modern anesthesiology has had a process of more than 150 years during which the concept of the word "anesthesia" changed constantly. Reviewing the evolution of the origin and the concept of the word "anesthesia" can be of benefit to recognize and understand the concept and nature of "anesthesia" to improve clinical anesthesia.

Abstract Recurrence of a lung tumor invading the subclavian artery, causing stenosis and leading to finger ulcers as the initial symptom, is rare. We employed endovascular techniques, inserting a Viabahn® VBX covered stent (W. L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, Arizona) to aid in ulcer healing and improve the patient's quality of life. The patient, a 73-year-old male, had a history of lung adenocarcinoma resection two years prior but had not undergone follow-up examinations or cancer-specific treatments. Clinical examination revealed an invasion of the right subclavian artery by the recurrent tumor, resulting in severe stenosis and ischemic symptoms in the right upper limb. Given the patient's advanced cancer stage and the decline of further tumor-specific treatments, an endovascular intervention using a Viabahn VBX covered stent was performed to improve blood flow and promote ulcer healing. The stent demonstrated exceptional stability and patency during the six-month follow-up, greatly improving the patient's quality of life. This case highlights the importance of recognizing atypical symptoms as potential indicators of tumor recurrence or progression and demonstrates the promising role of covered stents in managing vascular complications in selected patients with advanced-stage malignancies.

Abstract Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a stroke subtype with high mortality, and its severity is closely related to the short-term prognosis of SAH patients. S100 calcium-binding protein A9 (S100A9) has been shown to be associated with some neurological diseases. In this study, the concentration of S100A9 in clinical cerebrospinal fluid samples was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the relationship between S100A9 and the prognosis of patients was explored. In addition, WT mice and S100A9 knockout mice were used to establish an
