    Abstract Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (CSVD) frequently affects the elderly, with inflammation playing a crucial role in related health complications, including dementia, stroke, and SVD. Studies, including animal experiments, indicate a strong link between inflammation and SVD progression. The Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) serves as a possible biomarker for ongoing inflammatory risks. A total of 720 adults aged 50 years or older from the community-based I-Lan Longitudinal Aging Study were included in this study. General linear regression and ordinally logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association between NLR and CSVD. We further examined the presence of lacune, microbleed, and white matter hyperintensity (WMH) on brain MRI, which were used to construct a combined CSVD score.     Abstract This paper presents theoretical and numerical models for the backscattering of 2D Rayleigh waves in single-phase, untextured polycrystalline materials with statistically equiaxed grains. The theoretical model, based on our prior inclusion-induced Rayleigh wave scattering model and the independent scattering approximation, considers single scattering of Rayleigh-to-Rayleigh (R-R) waves. The numerical finite element model is established to accurately simulate the scattering problem and evaluate the theoretical model. Good quantitative agreement is observed between the theoretical model and the finite element results, especially for weakly scattering materials. The agreement decreases with the increase of the anisotropy index, owing to the reduced applicability of the Born approximation. However, the agreement remains generally good when weak multiple scattering is involved. In addition, the R-R backscattering behaviour of 2D Rayleigh waves is similar to the longitudinal-to-longitudinal and transverse-to-transverse backscattering of bulk waves, with the former exhibiting stronger scattering. These findings establish a foundation for using Rayleigh waves in the quantitative characterisation of polycrystalline materials.

    Abstract This paper accurately predicts and quantifies the vibration response characteristics of a mirror bender system with the finite element simulation and experiment. The results show that the fundamental frequency of the roll angle vibration is 24.66 Hz, and the fundamental frequency of the pitch angle vibration is 116.21 Hz. The overall error is within 11.15% in comparision with the first six natural frequencies obtained from experiments and simulations. The vertical support rod, being one of the weakest links in the overall structural stiffness, is a crucial factor limiting the increase in the natural frequency of the mirror system. Before and after the injection of cooling water, the pitch angle vibration was 123.63 and 199.04 nrad, respectively. An increase in the cooling water flow rate from 1 to 1.5 l/min has almost no effect on pitch angle vibrations. This study provides references and guidance for improving the stability of the mirror system.
