Abstract This research was conducted in Turkey to determine the experiences and coping mechanisms of breast cancer patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted using qualitative descriptive phenomenology. Data were collected from ten patients via in-depth interviews through semi-structured questionnaires. Content analysis, incorporating a combination of deductive and inductive approaches, was conducted to determine the themes and subthemes. Interviews were transcribed verbatim, simultaneously with the analysis and collected data. The study data were categorized into 3 contexts, 7 themes and 39 subthemes. The first context titled "Problems accompanying the disease" includes the effects of the pandemic, the fear of being infected with COVID-19 and hospital-related themes. The second context titled "Coping strategies" comprises the themes of coping behaviors and healthy lifestyle behaviors. The last context is titled "Anxiety about being infected, and suggestions for the future". In the study, problems experienced by patients with breast cancer throughout the COVID-19 pandemic were investigated from a broad perspective. Patients treated in chemotherapy units constitute the vulnerable group affected by the pandemic most. Therefore, it is important to investigate the experiences of oncology patients, particularly of patients with breast cancer and their coping strategies, and to take necessary precautions accordingly.

Abstract The health of breast cancer survivors is a global concern. It is crucial to adopt a holistic approach when understanding their journey from illness to wellness in order to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible. This study focused on the experiences of Muslim women who had overcome breast cancer and were adapting to life post-treatment. Snowball sampling was used to select the participants for this qualitative study. Fifteen women who had successfully completed breast cancer treatment and been declared cancer-free were interviewed. These interviews were semi-structured, using open-ended questions to explore their experiences in-depth. The interviews were conducted by phone, and the data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The study identified four main themes, nine subthemes, and 41 codes. The main themes were as follows: (a) a life changed by cancer and the difficulties encountered; (b) transition from active treatment to treatment-free living; (c) coping mechanisms; and (d) future hopes and expectations. The findings highlighted the survivors' desire to move past their experience of cancer and normalize their lives, as well as emphasizing their need for support. The participants shared detailed accounts of their journey, the obstacles they encountered during this transition, and the critical role of religion and spirituality in overcoming these challenges. Understanding and effectively managing the experiences of women after breast cancer treatment is vital not only for improving survival rates but also for facilitating their healing process.

Abstract Disasters are increasing all around the world. Health care professionals should properly and efficiently intervene and respond to the incidents in the case of a disaster. Traditional health training does not provide realistic experiences related to incidents that are risky or less common such as disasters. Nurses who constitute the majority of health care professionals play a key role in preparation for disasters and patient care. It is required for nurses to possess sufficient knowledge, skill, competence, and preparation regarding the disaster response. This review was conducted in order to emphasize the importance of knowledge, skill, competence and psychological first-aid roles for nurses who are assigned to disasters.

Abstract Water scarcity will become more common worldwide in the future due to climate change. These changes affects the environmental conditions necessary to maintain a healthy state negatively and has various impacts on the ecological balance of the world. As a result of climate change, the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, storms, snow and drought increase. Due to global warming, severe droughts occur and some areas experience water crises. Water crises have wide effects in the region where they occur and cause economic and social losses. Droughts are a type of natural disaster that occurs as a result of less precipitation than expected in a region. These changes in the climate of the world affect human health directly and indirectly. Who have been at risk of water crisis for many years the city of Cape Town Between 2015 and 2018, experienced severe drought disaster as a result of less precipitation than expected normal amounts. Various methods were applied to manage the drought and water consumption per capita was limited to 25 liters per day. This review paper was prepared to indicate the impact of the water crisis and the drought hazard threatening the world on health.

Abstract Purpose This review, which was created specifically for cancer care by reviewing the literature, was prepared to provide suggestions for determining the current difficulties in cancer care during COVID-19 outbreak and managing these difficulties. It is thought that this review can contribute to the identification of deficiencies related to the subject, to create interest in this issue in our country and in the world and to guide patients in the care during the COVID-19 pandemic process. Design/methodology/approach The literature search was carried out using the following electronic seven databases. Search terms used included: “COVID-19”, “management of cancer care” and “cancer care”. Articles meeting the following criteria were included in the current review: articles published in English, articles published in peer-reviewed journals and articles and guidelines published in 2020, articles suggesting management of cancer care during the COVID-19 outbreak. Findings The findings suggest that new guidelines need to be created to assess the level of problems in cancer treatment and in hospital, to respond appropriately with the best available resources during COVID-19 outbreak. Originality/value This paper seeks to provide suggestions for determining the current difficulties in cancer care during COVID-19 outbreak and managing these difficulties. By doing so, it is believed the suggestions presented will contribute significantly to the quality of cancer care during COVID-19 outbreak.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the impact of intrauterine insemination timing performed 24 or 36 h later following ovulation trigger on clinical pregnancy rate during ovulation induction with clomiphene citrate among infertile women was the objective of this study.
Methods: The medical records of 280 infertile patients who have underwent ovulation induction by using clomiphene citrate have been evaluated and cycle outcomes of the patients have been investigated specifically based on the timing of intrauterine insemination during the treatment cycle.
Results: The clinical pregnancy rate of the study group based on the timing of intrauterine insemination (24 vs. 36 h following hCG trigger) was found to be similar regardless of infertility type. The cycle day of which hCG trigger has been performed was found to be significantly longer for patients who have achieved clinical pregnancy than patients who have not got pregnant following the treatment cycle. Dominant follicle diameter has not been found to affect clinical pregnancy rate during treatment cycles with clomiphene citrate.
Conclusions: In this study, intrauterine insemination timing did not affect the cycle outcomes whether the procedure has been performed 24 or 36 h later following ovulation trigger with exogenous hCG utilization. The longer period of treatment cycle during ovulation induction with clomiphene citrate resulted with higher clinical pregnancy rate. Intrauterine insemination can be done successfully at either 24 or 36 h after hCG in clomiphene citrate stimulated cycles. This will allow more flexibility and convenience for both physicians and patients, especially during weekends.
