Abstract Human bocavirus (HBoV) is an emerging health concern worldwide, associated with range of clinical manifestations, including gastroenteritis and respiratory infections. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehend and minimize their prevalence in different systems. In this study, we conducted regular sampling throughout the year in two different sizes and work processes of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Tianjin, China. Our objective was to investigate the occurrence, prevalence, and endurance of HBoV in wastewater, while also evaluating the efficacy of amplicon target sequencing in directly detecting HBoV in wastewater. At two WWTPs, HBoV2 (45.51 %-45.67 %) and HBoV3 (38.30 %-40.25 %) were the most common genotypes identified, and the mean concentration range of HBoV was 2.54-7.40 log

Abstract Little is known about the response of soil respiration components to environmental changes, especially in high-altitude forest ecosystems. To examine the different effects of temperature and moisture on separate soil respiration components, namely autotropic (Rₐ) and heterotrophic (Rₕ) respirations, the gap formation method was adopted in a semi-arid highland elm (Ulmus pumila L.) sparse forest, Northwestern China. In 2021, a 9.33 m transect between two elm trees was built, forming a gap of elm sparse forest on the plateau. Soil respiration was measured along the transect between two elm trees. The results showed that the soil respiration under the canopy decreased with increasing distance from the base of the elm, and that the root had no effect on the soil respiration outside the canopy. Here we demonstrated that the mean value of Rₐ contribution to the total respiration (Rₜ) is 63%. Results of this study also showed that the temperature sensitivity of Rₕ (Q₁₀ = 4.29) was much higher than that of Rₐ (Q₁₀ = 1.40), and that soil moisture (SM) explained the variation of Rₐ (64.4%) better than that of Rₕ (49.9%). Our results suggested that the key driver of Rₕ was soil temperature (ST), and that of Rₐ was SM in the semi-arid highland elm sparse forest in Northwest China. The gap formation method is helpful to better understand the different responses of Rₐ and Rₕ to the variation of ST and SM in elm sparse forest in the semi-arid highland of Northwest China. We highlight that the different responses of Rₕ and Rₐ to the same environmental factors should be considered when predicting the future soil carbon cycle.

Abstract Abstract In Northwestern China, more and more traditional cultivation system (TC) with no mulching and flood irrigation have been replaced by modern cultivation technology (MC) combining plastic film mulching with drip irrigation. Does plastic film mulching increase or reduce soil CO2 emission in arid areas? In order to study the effects of plastic mulching on soil CO2 efflux, a field study was conducted to compare soil CO2 concentration, soil CO2 efflux, soil temperature and moisture between the TC treatment and the MC treatment during a cotton growing season in Northwestern China. The seasonal patterns of soil profile temperature and soil moisture in the TC treatment were similar to that in the MC treatment. The mean value of soil profile temperature in the MC treatment was higher than that in the TC treatment. Except for soil moisture at 15 cm depth, the mean value of soil moisture at 5 cm and 10 cm depths in the MC treatment was higher than that in the TC treatment. The variation patterns of soil CO2 concentration and soil CO2 efflux in MC treatment were different to that in the TC treatment. Although the peak of soil CO2 concentration in the TC treatment was earlier than that in the MC treatment, the duration of soil CO2 concentration with high values in TC treatment was shorter than that in the MC treatment. Based on the model of Fick’s first diffusion law, soil surface CO2 efflux in the MC and TC treatments were determined. The surface CO2 efflux in the TC treatment calculated by Fick’s first diffusion law model was in good agreement with the value measured by chamber method. The seasonal curve of soil surface CO2 efflux in the MC treatment indicate the similar pattern with that in the TC treatment, and the rate of CO2 efflux was lower in the MC system. In the MC treatment, the seasonal variation of soil surface efflux was explained more by soil moisture than by soil temperature. However, in the TC treatment, the seasonal variation of soil surface efflux was explained more by soil temperature than by soil moisture. Over the completely experimental period, accumulated rates of soil CO2 efflux were 361 g C m−2 and 474 g C m−2 for the MC and TC system, respectively. We concluded that converting agricultural practices from traditional cultivation to the plastic mulching cultivation could reduce soil CO2 efflux by approximately 110 g C m−2 year−1 in agricultural land in arid areas of Northwestern China.

Abstract The occurrence of Phaeocystis globosa, a harmful algal bloom species in Chinese coastal waters, has significant impacts on marine organisms and poses a threat to the safety of coastal nuclear power plants. Although previous studies have established a close association between P. globosa blooms and the bacterial community, the relationship between the microeukaryotic community and P. globosa blooms remains poorly understood. In this study, the variations in the microeukaryotic community resulting from a P. globosa bloom were analyzed using 18S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. The results indicated that the diversity of the microeukaryotic community during the bloom phase was significantly higher than that during the dissipation phase. The microeukaryotic community compositions varied significantly between the two phases of the P. globosa bloom. During the bloom phase, the dominant microeukaryotic was Viridiplantae, which was then replaced by Dinoflagellata during the dissipation phase. Co-occurrence network analysis showed that the relationship among the microeukaryotic community during the bloom phase was more complex than that during the dissipation phase, and the keystone taxa varied as the bloom progressed. Additionally, microeukaryotic community assembly was primarily driven by stochastic processes during the bloom phase based on the β-nearest taxon distance, whereas it was driven by both deterministic processes and stochastic processes during the dissipation phase. Overall, our findings provide novel insight into the mechanisms and interactions involved in microeukaryotic community dynamics in environments disturbed by P. globosa blooms.

Abstract Privacy and information protection are important issues in the era of big data. At present, China's elderly care industry is gradually adopting the supply model of smart elderly care to alleviate the contradiction between supply and demand. However, the low level of regulation of smart aging platforms may lead to a low level of privacy protection on the platforms. Therefore, in this paper, based on the evolutionary game and Lyapunov theory, we discuss the willingness of elderly people to participate in regulation, the privacy protection status of platform service providers, and the degree of government regulation, as well as the key factors affecting the equilibrium of the three-party game system, and conduct simulation analysis and game system optimization using MATLAB. The simulation results show that A1(0,0,1) and A5(0,0,0) can be transformed to A8(1,1,0) by adjusting the parameters, i.e., the optimal ESS is participation, high-quality protection, and low investment supervision; the service income of the elderly, the loss of privacy leakage, the investment cost of service providers, and the amount of government rewards and punishments are the key factors affecting the tripartite game system. By analyzing the impact of factors, such as benefits and costs, on privacy protection and the regulation of smart senior care platforms, the level of privacy protection of smart senior care platforms can be improved and the process of the comprehensive regulation of domestic senior care services can be promoted.

Abstract Background: Spiritual needs have been associated with better physical health outcomes and provide a context for patients to gain hope and significance in coping with disease. This study aimed to understand the status of spiritual needs of patients with advanced cancer and conducted a quantitative study on the relationship between patient-reported physical, psychological, and social influencing factors and spiritual needs based on a biopsychosocial-spiritual model.
Methods: In this study, 200 oncology inpatients from Shandong Province were recruited using a convenience sampling method to conduct a cross-sectional survey using general data from December 2020 to June 2022. Correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between spiritual needs and cancer-related fatigue, anxiety and depression, the family care index, and social support. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between spiritual needs and the influencing factors.
Results: The spiritual needs score of the patients with advanced cancer was high. Multiple regression analysis revealed that cancer-related fatigue, social support, and religious beliefs influenced the spiritual needs of patients with advanced cancer. Compared with married patients, widowed or divorced patients scored 8.531 points higher on spiritual needs. Cancer-related fatigue, social support, religious beliefs, and marital status (divorced or widowed) explained 21.4% of the total variation in the spiritual needs of patients with advanced cancer.
Conclusion: The spiritual needs of patients with advanced cancer were significantly correlated with cancer-related fatigue, depression, social support, and other factors. Religious beliefs, marital status, cancer-related fatigue, and social support were the main factors influencing the spiritual needs of patients with advanced cancer. This is a quantitative study, and medical staff can provide targeted spiritual care for patients with cancer based on the above influencing factors.
