    Abstract Object detection is an algorithm that recognizes and locates the objects in the image and has a wide range of applications in the visual understanding of complex urban scenes. Existing object detection benchmarks mainly focus on a single specific scenario and their annotation attributes are not rich enough, these make the object detection model is not generalized for the smart city scenes. Considering the diversity and complexity of scenes in intelligent city governance, we build a large-scale object detection benchmark for the smart city. Our benchmark contains about 500K images and includes three scenarios: intelligent transportation, intelligent security, and drones. For the complexity of the real scene in the smart city, the diversity of weather, occlusion, and other complex environment diversity attributes of the images in the three scenes are annotated. The characteristics of the benchmark are analyzed and extensive experiments of the current state-of-the-art target detection algorithm are conducted based on our benchmark to show their performance.

    Abstract Background: Bile leakage (BL) is a common complication of partial hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, various intraoperative approaches to detect BL have not been widely accepted owing to uncertainty in their treatment effectiveness and complexity of use.
    Materials and methods: A novel BL-detection approach (Peng's test) was developed in a swine model to determine the pressures generated in the gallbladder and common bile duct (CBD) during the test. A comparative study was then conducted on a prospective cohort of patients using Peng's test versus a retrospective historical cohort patient group using the White Gauze test in partial hepatectomy for HCC. Propensity score matching (PSM) was performed in a 1:1 ratio to balance confounding factors.
    Results: The maximum pressures with methylene blue injection in the gallbladder and CBD without Pringle's maneuver in the four swines were 103.8 ± 11.8 and 42.3 ± 6.1, respectively. After Pringle's maneuver, 32.0 ± 6.8 mL methylene blue injection led to a maximum pressure in the CBD of 85.3 ± 9.5 cmH
    Conclusion: Peng's test for intraoperative BL detection is safe and effective in reducing BL after hepatectomy.

    Abstract Gliomas are prevalent malignant tumors in adults, which can be categorized as either localized or diffuse gliomas. Glioblastoma is the most aggressive and deadliest form of glioma. Currently, there is no complete cure, and the median survival time is less than one year. The main mechanism of regulated cell death involves organisms coordinating the elimination of damaged cells at risk of tumor transformation or cells hijacked by microorganisms for pathogen replication. This process includes apoptosis, necroptosis, autophagy, ferroptosis, pyroptosis, necrosis, parthanayosis, entosis, lysosome-dependent death, NETosis, oxiptosis, alkaliptosis, and disulfidaptosis. The main goal of clinical oncology is to develop therapies that promote the effective elimination of cancer cells by regulating cell death are the main goal of clinical oncology. Recently, scientists have utilized pertinent regulatory factors and natural small-molecule compounds to induce regulated cell death for the treatment of gliomas. By analyzing the PubMed and Web of Science databases, this paper reviews the research progress on the regulation of cell death and the role of natural small-molecule compounds in glioma. The aim is to provide help for the treatment of glioblastoma.

    Abstract The large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) stands as a cornerstone of mariculture in China due to its significant value. However, the threat of Pseudomonas plecoglossicida infection looms large, capable of triggering "visceral white spot disease" and subsequently inflicting severe economic ramifications. Through a prior genome-wide association analysis (GWAS) aimed at understanding the resistance of the large yellow croaker to this ailment, a pivotal player emerged: the complement component 1q binding protein, aptly named LcC1qbp. This protein assumes a crucial role in the activation of the complement system. This study delves deeper into the immune response by examining the expression patterns of LcC1QBP when confronted with P. plecoglossicida. The investigation into gene expression patterns reveals LcC1qbp's widespread presence, with its highest transcriptional abundance identified in the kidney tissues. Upon infection by P. plecoglossicida, the up-regulation of LcC1qbp in major immune organs manifests at both the transcriptional and translational levels. In the context of RNA interference, transcriptome analysis of C1qbp in HEK 293T cells uncovers 1327 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), featuring 41 significant immune genes. This includes pivotal components such as C1S and C3 of the complement system, along with IL11, IL12RB2, and Myd88, among others. The outcomes of enrichment analysis spotlight the prevalence of DEGs within key pathways like immune system development, myeloid leukocyte-mediated immunity, MAPK signaling, and other immune-related routes. By unveiling the immune response mechanisms of the large yellow croaker to P. plecoglossicida infection, this study bolsters our understanding. Furthermore, it lays the groundwork for pursuing effective strategies in both preventing and treating "visceral white spot disease" in the large yellow croaker.

    Abstract Background: Meningioma, the most prevalent intracranial tumor, possesses a significant propensity for malignant transformation. Circular RNAs (circ-RNAs), a class of non-coding RNAs, have emerged as crucial players in tumorigenesis. This study explores the functional relevance of hsa_circ_0004872, a specific circ-RNA, in the context of meningioma.
    Methods: Molecular structure and stability of hsa_circ_0004872 were elucidated through PCR identification. Meningioma cell proliferation and apoptosis were assessed using the CCK-8 assay and flow cytometry, respectively. Gene and protein expression were analyzed via qRT-PCR and western blot. Molecular interactions were confirmed through dual-luciferase reporter gene and RIP assays.
    Results: Hsa_circ_0004872, derived from exons 2 to 4 of the host gene MAPK1, demonstrated enhanced stability compared to its host MAPK1. Clinical data described that hsa_circ_0004872 was reduced in meningioma tissues and cell lines, and negatively correlated to poor survival rate of meningioma patients. Overexpression of hsa_circ_0004872 exhibited inhibitory effects on cell proliferation and promotion of apoptosis in vitro. Subsequent investigations unveiled a direct interaction between hsa_circ_0004872 and miR-190a-3p, leading to the activation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway through targeting PTEN. Notably, miR-190a-3p silence accelerated the apoptosis and proliferation inhibition of meningioma cells by inactivating PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling, while miR-190a-3p overexpression showed an opposite effect, which greatly reversed the anti-tumor effects of hsa_circ_0004872 overexpression.
    Conclusion: In summary, our findings highlighted the intricate role of hsa_circ_0004872 in meningioma, shedding light on the regulatory mechanisms involving circ-RNAs in tumor progression. This positions hsa_circ_0004872 as a potential key regulatory factor in meningioma with implications for future therapeutic interventions.
