    Abstract Objectives: Yu-Ping-Feng-San (YPFS) is a classical traditional Chinese medicine that is widely used for treatment of the diseases in respiratory systems, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) recognized as chronic inflammatory disease. However, the molecular mechanism remains unclear. Here we detected the factors involved in transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1)/Smad2 signaling pathway and inflammatory cytokines, to clarify whether YPFS could attenuate inflammatory response dependent on TGF-β1/Smad2 signaling in COPD rats or cigarette smoke extract (CSE)-treated human bronchial epithelial (Beas-2B) cells.
    Materials and methods: The COPD rat model was established by exposure to cigarette smoke and intratracheal instillation of lipopolysaccharide, YPFS was administered to the animals. The efficacy of YPFS was evaluated by comparing the severity of pulmonary pathological damage, pro-inflammation cytokines, collagen related genes and the activation of TGF-β1/Smad2 signaling pathway. Furthermore, CSE-treated cells were employed to confirm whether the effect of YPFS was dependent on the TGF-β1/Smad2 signaling via knockdown Smad2 (Si-RNA), or pretreatment with the inhibitor of TGF-β1.
    Results: Administration of YPFS effectively alleviated injury of lung, suppressed releasing of pro-inflammatory cytokines and collagen deposition in COPD animals (
    Conclusion: YPFS accomplished anti-inflammatory effects mainly by suppressing phosphorylation of Smad2, TGF-β1/Smad2 signaling pathway was required for YPFS-mediated anti-inflammation in COPD rats or CSE-treated Beas-2B cells.

    Abstract Polysaccharides, one of the important active ingredients of traditional Chinese herbal medicine, become a focus of attention in many fields, particularly in medical research industry. Yu-Ping-Feng (YPF) is a primary component of many traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, and it’s proven to be significantly beneficial to human health. In recent years, polysaccharides from YPF have been well documented after successful isolation and purification, but the polysaccharides from YPF post-processing wastes are not studied. Under the guidance of the Pharmacological Efficacy Index, we have extracted Yu-Ping-Feng polysaccharides (YPF-P) from the wastes of YPF in our previous work. Our previous findings showed that YPF-P promote the growth, enhance immunity and organ structure or function of cultured fish northern snakehead fish (Channa argus) and grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus), and significantly improve the intestinal microflora of fish. This paper reviews the current status of YPF-P and their application in aquaculture, including the development of green feed for aquatic animals and the re-utilization of the YPF wastes. This series of work is a way to have the best of both worlds, not only to realize the rational treatment of medical wastes, but also to effectively use the wastes, to find a green raw material for aquatic feed.

    Abstract Purpose: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a complex genetic disease associated with genetic and environmental factors. Previous studies have shown that changes in the gut microbiota may affect the development of host metabolic diseases and promote the progression of T2DM. Tang-ping-san (TPS) decoction can effectively treat T2DM. However, its specific mechanisms must be evaluated.
    Patients and methods: In the present study, we established an animal model of T2DM using a high‑fat diet (HFD) with intraperitoneal injection streptozotocin injection.
    Results: The therapeutic effect of TPS decoction on T2DM in mice was initially evaluated. TPS decoction was found to improve hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, and pathological liver, pancreatic, and colon changes. Moreover, it reduced the pro-inflammatory cytokine levels.     Conclusion: TPS decoction improves T2DM and liver function and reduces the risk of hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, insulin resistance, pathological organ changes, and inflammatory reactions. The mechanism of TPS decoction in T2DM can be correlated with the reversal of gut microbiota dysfunction and repair of the intestinal mucosal barrier.

    Abstract Conventional reverberation reduction methods are conducted with single-ping data and may fail in a low signal-to-reverberation ratio (SRR) environment. To improve the performance of reverberation reduction, multi-ping data are fully considered in this paper. The reverberation can be treated as a combination of the steady component of reverberation and reverberation fluctuations, and then an alternating direction multiplier method is proposed to reduce the steady component of the reverberation. By exploiting the evolution of the target location along multiple pings, the reverberation fluctuation is reduced by the probabilistic data association method. The proposed method was verified by the field data, and the results show that compared with the accelerated proximal gradient method, the sparse coefficient is improved by a factor of 1.23, and the signal excess is improved by an average value of 2.0 dB. In addition, the performance of the proposed method is found to be closely related to the signal-to-reverberation-fluctuation ratio rather than only the SRR.

    Abstract The Mae Ping shear zone (MPSZ), a major shear zone trending NW-SE in Thailand, is responsible for the left-lateral displacement of the N-S Triassic-Jurassic granitoid and gneiss belt. This displacement is postulated to have contributed to Cenozoic extrusion tectonics. Within the Lan Sang National Park, the MPSZ exposes several intensely deformed lithologies, collectively known as the Lan Sang gneisses. These gneisses have attracted considerable attention for their potential to substantiate the extrusion model. However, the timing of the emplacement of the orthogneiss protolith is still debated. Moreover, the origin and distribution of the Eocene syn-shearing granodiorite within this shear zone are not well understood. To shed light on the magmatic history of the MPSZ, this study utilized zircon U-Pb geochronology to systematically investigate the Lan Sang gneisses. Our findings demonstrate that these gneisses can be categorized into paragneiss and orthogneiss groups. Paragneiss samples feature zircons displaying rounded detrital cores ranging from 3,078 to 450 Ma, with metamorphic rim overgrowth of ca. 200 Ma (most Th/U <0.01). This indicates that their Paleozoic sedimentary protoliths experienced high-grade metamorphism during the Triassic-Jurassic Indosinian orogeny. On the other hand, zircon from orthogneiss samples shows that their magmatic protoliths were predominantly emplaced either around ∼200 Ma or within 45-32 Ma. The Eocene-Oligocene magmatism likely coincided with the proposed Eocene metamorphism. Since these samples were deformed by left-lateral shearing, the left-lateral motion of the MPSZ probably ended after 32 Ma. Eocene-Oligocene magmatic events have also been identified in granite, mylonite, and gneiss samples from other regions along the Sibumasu terrane, including the Three Pagodas, Klaeng, Ranong, Khlong Marui shear zones, and the Doi Inthanon area.     Abstract As a high yield and low risk investment method, financial products cater to the needs of investors.In this paper, the financial product of Ping An Bank's wealth structured(100% guaranteed linked interest rate)asset management open 98-day RMB 002 series is taken as the research object.The mathematical model is established by using the discounted cash flow model and the LIBOR market model.The theoretical price of the product is calculated by using Monte Carlo simulation.By comparing the theoretical price with the actual price, it is concluded that the expected yield of the financial product is consistent with the highest yield mentioned in the product description.This shows that the value of the financial product is underestimated.

    Abstract Abstract: In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Yu-Ping-Feng powder (YPFP) has been used to treat allergic rhinitis (AR) for centuries. However, the mechanisms underlying its effects or its molecular targets in AR treatment are yet to be elucidated. Therefore, the active compounds of YPFP and their targets were collected and identified from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology database. Moreover, AR-associated targets were acquired from the GeneCards and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man database. Proteins interactions network of YPFP presumed targets and AR-associated targets were examined and merged to reveal the candidate YPFP targets against AR.Cytoscape software and BisoGenet Database were employed to perform the Visualization and Integrated Discovery (Cluster Profiler R package, version: 3.8.1). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes and genome pathway analyses. To identify the key target genes, a gene-pathway network has been constructed.We identified 44 effective active compounds and 622 YPFP targets. Also 1324 target genes related to AR were identified. Twenty pathways, including those of AGE-RAGE signaling, fluid shear stress, atherosclerosis, PI3K-Akt signaling, and tumor necrosis factor signaling was enriched significantly. MAPK1 was identified as the core gene, while others including RELA, AKT1, NFKBIA, IL6, and JUN, were also important in the gene-pathway network. Clearly, network pharmacology can be applied in revealing the molecular targets and mechanisms of action of complex herbal preparations.These findings suggested that YPFP could treat AR by regulating immunological functions, diminishing inflammation, and improving immunity through different pathways.
