Abstract As is well-known to the scholars of European philosophical thinking between the eighteenth and twentieth centuries, the great and ambitious plan of diltheyan criticism of the reason of history condensed in a pond-pink Introduction to the Human Sciences appeared in 1883 only the first volume especially the first two Books. The volume, which we present here, encloses in chronological order the various drafts which, as early as 1880, Dilthey made the work of the second volume of the work, which would have to contain the other four Books, the dedicated ones to the gnoseological, logical and methodological aspects of the philosophical foundation of the so-called sciences of the spirit. An absorbing commitment, which Dilthey will pursue throughout his scientific life, without saving power, will cost him a little in terms of psycho-physical health. In addition to the volume, which besides Breslau drafts also contains the famous Berlin Plan dating back to the early nineties, we also thought it appropriate to include the two dafts of the Althoff Letter dating back to mid-1882, as they also contain useful observations on the designed Introduction to the Human Sciences

Abstract Allergic reactions to components of cardiac implantable electronic devices are rare and often go undiagnosed, which can lead to a misdiagnosis of device infection. Contact allergy to subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (S-ICD) is extremely rare. In this report, we present a case of cobalt-related contact allergy in a pediatric patient with Brugada syndrome who underwent S-ICD implantation.

Abstract Cancer cells acquire genotypic and phenotypic changes over the course of the disease. A minority of these changes enhance cell fitness, allowing a tumor to evolve and overcome environmental constraints and treatment. Cancer evolution is driven by diverse processes governed by different rules, such as discrete and irreversible genetic variants and continuous and reversible plastic reprogramming. In this perspective, we explore the role of cell plasticity in tumor evolution through specific examples. We discuss epigenetic and transcriptional reprogramming in "disease progression" of solid tumors, through the lens of the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, and "treatment resistance", in the context endocrine therapy in hormone-driven cancers. These examples offer a paradigm of the features and challenges of cell plastic evolution, and we investigate how recent technological advances can address these challenges. Cancer evolution is a multi-faceted process, whose understanding and harnessing will require an equally diverse prism of perspectives and approaches.

Abstract Conventional nonirrigated catheters cannot be able to create adequate lesions for effective slow pathway modulation in certain cases of pediatric atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia ablation. Irrigated contact force sensing catheters may be considered in pediatric and adolescent patients to obtain a more extensive slow pathway modulation for redo ablation, avoiding dangerous radiofrequency applications close to the compact atrioventricular node or complex left-sided procedures.

Abstract Cancer evolution is driven by the concerted action of multiple molecular alterations, which emerge and are selected during tumor progression. An alteration is selected when it provides an advantage to the tumor cell. However, the advantage provided by a specific alteration depends on the tumor lineage, cell epigenetic state, and presence of additional alterations. In this case, we say that an evolutionary dependency exists between an alteration and what influences its selection. Epistatic interactions between altered genes lead to evolutionary dependencies (EDs), by favoring or vetoing specific combinations of events. Large-scale cancer genomics studies have discovered examples of such dependencies, and showed that they influence tumor progression, disease phenotypes, and therapeutic response. In the past decade, several algorithmic approaches have been proposed to infer EDs from large-scale genomics datasets. These methods adopt diverse strategies to address common challenges and shed new light on cancer evolutionary trajectories. Here, we review these efforts starting from a simple conceptualization of the problem, presenting the tackled and still unmet needs in the field, and discussing the implications of EDs in cancer biology and precision oncology.
