    Abstract Health poverty alleviation is an effective tool for improving the living quality and developmental conditions of impoverished populations. Since 1978, China has been actively implementing health poverty alleviation projects, resulting in a more robust rural healthcare service network and increased convenience for the local population to access medical treatment. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that China still faces a complex situation with the simultaneous existence of multiple disease threats and the interweaving of various health influencing factors. Ongoing risks of emerging infectious diseases persist, and some previously controlled or eliminated infectious diseases are at risk of resurgence. The incidence of chronic diseases is on the rise and exhibits a trend toward affecting younger populations. Therefore, examining the successful experiences of China's health poverty alleviation over the past 40 years becomes a critically important issue. The study focuses on China's health poverty alleviation policies, employing historical institutionalism as a theoretical perspective to analyze the historical changes and evolutionary logic of health poverty alleviation policies. A historical institutionalist analytical framework for health poverty alleviation policies is constructed. The research findings reveal that China's health poverty alleviation policy has undergone three distinct periods since 1978: the initial phase (1978–2000), the exploratory phase (2000–2012), and the stable development phase (2013–present). At the macro level, the political, economic, and social contexts of different periods have influenced the evolution of health poverty alleviation policies. On the meso level, coordination effects and adaptive expectations have had an impact on China's health poverty alleviation policy.     Abstract A reliability optimization design method based on the goal-oriented (GO) method is proposed in this study to tackle the problem of engine reliability optimization design. This proposed method considers a V-type diesel engine as the research object. Firstly, the reliability modeling and evaluation of diesel engines are conducted by the GO method. Secondly, the functional reliability is assigned according to the difference in diesel engine function. Finally, a three-objective diesel reliability optimization design model is constructed with the optimization objectives of maximizing robustness and reliability and minimizing cost. Then, an NSGA-II-PSO hybrid algorithm based on the GO method is designed to handle the problem, and the design interval of unit reliability is obtained. The results of the case study demonstrate that this method not only meets the requirements of reliability design but also achieves the purpose of reliability optimization design, providing a reference for other types of equipment.

    Abstract A corrosion inhibitor was widely used to improve corrosion resistance of steel bar in reinforcement concrete structure. A kind of multi-component corrosion inhibitor, which is composed of organic and inorganic substances, was developed in this research. This corrosion inhibitor was comparatively studied with various other inhibitors by using open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV) methods. The results show that the OCP values and charge transfer resistance (calculated by EIS curves) of the multi-component corrosion inhibitor remain, respectively, as high as −0.45 V and 932.19 kΩ·cm −2 after 60 days immersion, which are significantly better than other groups. Wide passivation interval and various peaks in cyclic voltammograms (CV) were applied to analyze the mechanism of adsorption (organic substance) and oxidation–reduction reactions (inorganic substance). The functional groups -OH in triethanolamine (TEA) and tri-isopropanolamine (TIPA) bond to the steel bar surface quickly, behaving as an adsorbent of organic substance in early age. An additional protective precipitate related to the reactions of Fe 3+ was formed by inorganic substances (Fe 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 and FePO 4 ), which is consistent with the EIS results and equivalent electrochemical circuits. As an eco-friendly substitute, multi-component corrosion inhibitors possess similar or even better protecting effects on steel bars in comparison to calcium nitrite. In addition, the concept of a “multi-functional protective film” was proposed, providing a new insight to achieve modified anti-corrosion capacity of inhibitors.

Here, triethanolamine (TEOA) is developed as an electrolyte additive to address these challenges. It enhances the exposure of Zn(002) and diminishes the change in pH. Therefore, the electrolyte containing TEOA shows improved electrochemical performance.

    Abstract This study investigated how one's problem-solving style impacts his/her problem-solving performance in technology-rich environments. Drawing upon experiential learning theory, we extracted two behavioral indicators (i.e., planning duration for problem solving and human-computer interaction frequency) to model problem-solving styles in technology-rich environments. We employed an existing data set in which 7516 participants responded to 14 technology-based tasks of the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) 2012. Clustering analyses revealed three problem-solving styles:

    Abstract Human-machine interaction (HMI) technology has undergone significant advancements in recent years, enabling seamless communication between humans and machines. Its expansion has extended into various emerging domains, including human healthcare, machine perception, and biointerfaces, thereby magnifying the demand for advanced intelligent technologies. Neuromorphic computing, a paradigm rooted in nanoionic devices that emulate the operations and architecture of the human brain, has emerged as a powerful tool for highly efficient information processing. This paper delivers a comprehensive review of recent developments in nanoionic device-based neuromorphic computing technologies and their pivotal role in shaping the next-generation of HMI. Through a detailed examination of fundamental mechanisms and behaviors, the paper explores the ability of nanoionic memristors and ion-gated transistors to emulate the intricate functions of neurons and synapses. Crucial performance metrics, such as reliability, energy efficiency, flexibility, and biocompatibility, are rigorously evaluated. Potential applications, challenges, and opportunities of using the neuromorphic computing technologies in emerging HMI technologies, are discussed and outlooked, shedding light on the fusion of humans with machines.

    Abstract Multifunctional terahertz beam manipulations have attracted much attention because of the potential for wide-scale applications in terahertz imaging, communications, etc. In this work, a grating-like terahertz reflective-type metasurface is designed for terahertz beam manipulations on the basis of a frequency-scanning mechanism. The theoretical calculation based on the grating principle has predicted that the metasurface grating can steer the deflected beam from 59.5° to 47.3° as the frequency of the perpendicularly incident terahertz wave changes between 0.87 and 1.02 THz. The large-deflection-angle frequency-scanning performance is validated by both numerical simulations and experimental tests. The metasurface grating developed in this work possesses the potential for applications in terahertz beam steering and beam-splitting devices.

    Abstract Wind energy as a renewable energy source is easily available and widely distributed in cities. However, current wind-energy harvesters are inadequate at capturing energy from low-speed winds in urban areas, thereby limiting their application in distributed self-powered sensor networks. A triboelectric-electromagnetic hybrid harvester with a low startup wind speed (LSWS-TEH) is proposed that also provides output power within a wide range of wind speeds. An engineering-implementable propeller design method is developed to reduce the startup wind speed of the harvester. A mechanical analysis of the aerodynamics of the rotating propeller is performed, and optimal propeller parameter settings are found that greatly improved its aerodynamic torque. By combining the high-voltage output of the triboelectric nanogenerator under low-speed winds with the high-power output of the electromagnetic generator under high-speed winds, the harvester can maintain direct current output over a wide wind-speed range after rectification. Experiments show that the harvester activates at wind speeds as low as 1.2 m/s, powers a sensor with multiple integrated components in 1.7 m/s wind speeds, and drives a Bluetooth temperature and humidity sensor in 2.7 m/s wind speeds. The proposed small, effective, inexpensive hybrid energy harvester provides a promising way for self-powered requirements in smart city settings.
