Abstract Automated exercise assessment is of great importance for patients under rehabilitation exercise who require professional guidance. Among the existing approaches, the skeleton-based assessment model that classifies the correctness of the exercise has attracted much attention due to its relative ease of implementation and convenience in use. However, there are two problems with this approach. The first problem is its sensitivity to the orientation of the human skeleton. To solve this problem, we propose a novel rotation-invariant descriptor, the dot product matrix of the human skeleton, and prove mathematically that this descriptor discards only the orientation message that we do not expect while preserving all other useful information. Lack of feedback from the system is the second problem, because the exercisers do not know which parts of their exercises are incorrect. Therefore, we develop a visualization method for our system based on Gradient-Weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM) and an quantitative metric called Overlap Ratio (OvR) to measure the quality of the visualization result. To demonstrate the effect of our method, we conduct experiments on two public datasets and a self-generated push-up dataset. The experimental results show that our rotation-invariant descriptor can achieve absolute robustness to orientation even under severe angle perturbations. In terms of accuracy and OvR, our method even outperforms previous works in most cases, indicating that the rotation-invariant descriptor helps the assessment model to extract more stable features. The visualization results are also informative to correct the movements; some examples are presented in this paper. The code of this paper and our push-up dataset are publicly available at https://github.com/Kelly510/RehabExerAssess.

Abstract Background: Hepatoblastoma (HB), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and embryonal sarcoma (ES) are the three main types of liver tumors in children and adolescents. At present, epidemiological knowledge and predictors of these three liver tumor types in multi-ethnic populations are limited. This study aimed to outline the clinical features and construct a prognostic nomogram for these tumors, which can contribute to the prediction of dynamic overall survival probability during the follow-up period.
Methods: A total of 1,122 patients liver tumor patients between 2000 to 2019 in Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were enrolled for the current study, and separated into 824 HB, 219 HCC, and 79 ES according to the type of pathology. Independent prognostic factors were screened by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis, and a prognostic nomogram was constructed for overall survival. The accuracy and discriminative abilities of the nomogram were evaluated by concordance index as well as time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curves and calibration curves.
Results: Race (P=0.0016), surgery [hazard ratio (HR): 0.1021, P<0.001], and chemotherapy (HR: 0.27, P=0.00018) are independent prognostic factors for hepatoblastoma. Pathological tissue grading (P=0.00043), tumor node metastasis (TNM) staging (P=0.00061), and surgery are independent prognostic factors for hepatocellular carcinoma. Household income and surgery (HR: 0.1906, P<0.001) are independent prognostic factors for embryonal sarcoma. All of these prognostic factors are significantly associated with prognosis. A nomogram consisting of these variables was established, which showed a good concordance index (0.747, 0.775, and 0.828 in hepatoblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and embryonal sarcoma, respectively). Also, the 5-year area under curve (AUC) of the nomogram were 0.738, 0.812, and 0.839 in hepatoblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and embryonal sarcoma, respectively. In the calibration diagram, an optimal agreement between the nomogram-predicted and actual observed survival was evident.
Conclusions: We developed an effective prognostic nomogram for overall survival prediction in hepatoblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and embryonal sarcoma in children and adolescent patients, which will further benefit the assessment of long-term outcomes.

Abstract In virtue of the advantages, such as aesthetics, designability, convenient removal, and comfortable experience, invisible orthodontics (IO) have been widely recognized and accepted by the public. However, most of the membranes currently used for IO only meet the requirement of shape retention. Other vital functions, like antibacterial and antifouling activities, are neglected. Herein, antibacterial composite membranes (ACMs) containing polypropylene (PP), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and poly (hexamethylene guanidine) hydrochloride-sodium stearate (PHMG-SS) were facilely manufactured through the hot-pressing membrane forming technology. ACMs were conferred with favorable transparency (∼70% in the visible light range) and excellent antibacterial ability. Experiment results demonstrated that bactericidal rates of ACMs against

Abstract Several factors are associated with the success of deep learning. One of the most important reasons is the availability of large-scale datasets with clean annotations. However, obtaining datasets with accurate labels in the medical imaging domain is challenging. The reliability and consistency of medical labeling are some of these issues, and low-quality annotations with label noise usually exist. Because noisy labels reduce the generalization performance of deep neural networks, learning with noisy labels is becoming an essential task in medical image analysis. Literature on this topic has expanded in terms of volume and scope. However, no recent surveys have collected and organized this knowledge, impeding the ability of researchers and practitioners to utilize it. In this work, we presented an up-to-date survey of label-noise learning for medical image domain. We reviewed extensive literature, illustrated some typical methods, and showed unified taxonomies in terms of methodological differences. Subsequently, we conducted the methodological comparison and demonstrated the corresponding advantages and disadvantages. Finally, we discussed new research directions based on the characteristics of medical images. Our survey aims to provide researchers and practitioners with a solid understanding of existing medical label-noise learning, such as the main algorithms developed over the past few years, which could help them investigate new methods to combat with the negative effects of label noise.

Abstract The knowledge graph is one of the essential infrastructures of artificial intelligence. It is a challenge for knowledge engineering to construct a high-quality domain knowledge graph for multi-source heterogeneous data. We propose a complete process framework for constructing a knowledge graph that combines structured data and unstructured data, which includes data processing, information extraction, knowledge fusion, data storage, and update strategies, aiming to improve the quality of the knowledge graph and extend its life cycle. Specifically, we take the construction process of an enterprise knowledge graph as an example and integrate enterprise register information, litigation-related information, and enterprise announcement information to enrich the enterprise knowledge graph. For the unstructured text, we improve existing model to extract triples and the F1-score of our model reached 72.77%. The number of nodes and edges in our constructed enterprise knowledge graph reaches 1,430,000 and 3,170,000, respectively. Furthermore, for each type of multi-source heterogeneous data, we apply corresponding methods and strategies for information extraction and data storage and carry out a detailed comparative analysis of graph databases. From the perspective of practical use, the informative enterprise knowledge graph and its timely update can serve many actual business needs. Our proposed enterprise knowledge graph has been deployed in HuaRong RongTong (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and is used by the staff as a powerful tool for corporate due diligence. The key features are reported and analyzed in the case study. Overall, this paper provides an easy-to-follow solution and practice for domain knowledge graph construction, as well as demonstrating its application in corporate due diligence.

Abstract Background: The muscle-related indicator is removed from Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria implemented in China for many reasons. Patients with hematopoietic stem cell transplants are at nutrition risk and can enter into the second step of GLIM; thus, they are suitable for learning the diagnosing malnutrition significance between primary GLIM and GLIM-China criteria. This article aims to explore the role of muscle mass in the diagnostic criteria of malnutrition and the effects of GLIM-China for diagnosing malnutrition.
Methods: A total of 98 inpatients with hematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCT) were recruited. Nutrition risk was assessed by using the Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS-2002). Appendicular skeletal muscle mass (ASMI) and fat-free mass index (FFMI) were determined using the bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) method. Malnutrition is defined by GLIM-China, GLIM, and PG-SGA. We use erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) to assess inflammation in GLIM and GLIM-China. The correlation or consistency among ASMI, FFMI, ESR, CRP, GLIM-China, GLIM, and PG-SGA was evaluated, respectively.
Results: One hundred percent instead of the patients had nutritional risk. The magnitude of malnutrition using PG-SGA, GLIM, and GLIM-China was 75.5, 80.6, and 64.3%, respectively. GLIM-China and PG-SGA showed the same performance (
Conclusion: If only the PG-SGA scale is used as a diagnostic criterion for evaluating malnutrition, a large proportion of patients with reduced muscle mass will be missed, but more patients with muscle loss will be missed

Abstract Recent studies have indicated that dysregulation of the Hippo/Yes-associated protein (YAP) axis is associated with tumor progression and therapy resistance in various cancer types, including lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Understanding the regulation of Hippo signaling in LUAD is of great significance. Elevated levels of TRIB3, a pseudo kinase, have been observed in certain lung malignancies and are associated with an unfavorable prognosis. Our research aims to investigate whether increased TRIB3 levels enhance the malignant characteristics of LUAD cells and tumor progression through its interaction with the Hippo signaling pathway. In this study, we reported a positive correlation between elevated expression of TRIB3 and LUAD progression. Additionally, TRIB3 has the ability to enhance TEAD luciferase function and suppress Hippo pathway activity. Moreover, TRIB3 increases total YAP protein levels and promotes YAP nuclear localization. Mechanistic experiments revealed that TRIB3 directly interacts with large tumor suppressor kinase 1 (LATS1), thereby suppressing Hippo signaling. Moreover, the decrease in METTL3-mediated N6-methyladenosine modification of TRIB3 results in a substantial elevation of its expression levels in LUAD cells. Collectively, our research unveils a novel discovery that TRIB3 enhances the growth and invasion of LUAD cells by interacting with LATS1 and inhibiting the Hippo signaling pathway. TRIB3 may serve as a potential biomarker for an unfavorable prognosis and a target for novel treatments in YAP-driven lung cancer.
