Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted much attention from society, industry and academia as a promising technology that can enhance day to day activities, and the creation of new business models, products and services, and serve as a broad source of research topics and ideas. A future digital society is envisioned, composed of numerous wireless connected sensors and devices. Driven by huge demand, the massive IoT (mIoT) or massive machine type communication (mMTC) has been identified as one of the three main communication scenarios for 5G. In addition to connectivity, computing and storage and data management are also long-standing issues for low-cost devices and sensors. The book is a collection of outstanding technical research and industrial papers covering new research results, with a wide range of features within the 5G-and-beyond framework. It provides a range of discussions of the major research challenges and achievements within this topic

Abstract "Innovation in healthcare is currently a "hot" topic. Innovation allows us to think differently, to take risks and to develop ideas that are far better than existing solutions. Currently, there is no single book that covers all topics related to microelectronics, sensors, data, system integration and healthcare technology assessment in one reference. This book aims to critically evaluate current state-of-the-art technologies and provide readers with insights into developing new solutions. With contributions from a fully international team of experts across electrical engineering and biomedical fields, the book discusses how advances in sensing technology, computer science, communications systems and proteomics/genomics are influencing healthcare technology today"--

Abstract The objective and scientific interpretation of evidence provided by forensic science is a crucial component of the contemporary judicial system. In Pakistan, forensic science education is not a part of the required curriculum for obtaining a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree. Lawyer’s knowledge of the scope and limits of forensic research is hindered by the absence of a thorough forensic science component within law school. This, in turn, may obstruct the proper use of forensics in court procedures, which can slow down the distribution of justice. Forensic science education offers numerous benefits, including a holistic understanding of law and forensic science, interdisciplinary skills development, enhanced collaboration between lawyers and experts, and the development of specialized lawyers for handling complex cases. Law students may benefit from a deeper grasp of the scientific processes involved in criminal investigation, evidence collecting, preservation, analysis, and presentation by taking forensic science courses. Future lawyers will benefit from this understanding while trying cases, challenging expert testimony, and arguing on behalf of their clients. This article addresses the advantages, problems, and possible tactics for integrating forensic science into the LL.B. curriculum in Pakistan.

Abstract The current world demands for sustainable and eco-friendly energy sources as the conventional energy sources (mainly fossil fuels) are depleting day by day. Therefore, there has been a great focus on Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in the recent years of which solar photovoltaic, PV energy is one of the potential candidates. Since solar energy is sporadic in nature and its output depends on various meteorological parameters such has the intensity of sunlight on solar panels or soiling on PV panels and any defect or damage to the PV-panel can affect the PV-panel efficiency and desired yield. Therefore, parameters of the PV systems have to be supervised remotely that should offer the stockholders to increase the yield and efficiency at reduced cost and minimum human interventions. Internet of Things (IoT) is the best candidate for such systems offering improved supervision, data acquisition and preventive maintenance at low cost.

  10. Article: Role of Adenotonsillectomy and Tonsillectomy in Children with Down Syndrome Who Develop Obstructive Sleep Apnea by Obesity as a Risk Factor.

Abstract Down syndrome (DS) or trisomy 21 is caused due to the presence of additional chromosome 21 in humans. DS can exist either as free trisomy 21 (nondisjunction), Robertsonian translocated DS, or as mosaic DS. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a complex condition with serious health implications for pediatric individuals with DS. OSA is common in DS, and when it is present, it appears to be extreme. Obesity and snoring are some of the OSA risk factors for children associated with DS and OSA. Adenotonsillectomy is one of the surgical protocols applied in children, which is useful in lowering the OSA in which obesity is commonly connected within normal and DS children. Tonsillectomy is the alternative procedure of surgery connected with postoperative respiratory complications, and adenotonsillectomy was found to be a safe surgical method in children and improves the quality of life. The main aim of this review is to bridge the gap between the role of OSA in normal children (46, XX/XY) and DS children (47, XX/XY+21) characterized by the presence of chromosomes and exactly what is the involvement with adenotonsillectomy and tonsillectomy when obesity is a risk factor. The treatment for OSA and obesity is rehabilitative and reversible; however, DS can be managed but not resolved because the disorder occurs from the existence of an extra chromosome during the failure of homologous chromosomal pairing separation during maternal meiosis I. This review concludes that there is a treatment for OSA and obesity and that DS children can be prevented from being obese or experiencing OSA but cannot be turned to normal chromosomes due to an extra trisomy 21. According to this review, children with DS and OSA/OSAS, as well as concomitant complications, can be treated.
