Abstract The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a continuous cellular endomembrane network that displays focal specializations. Most notable examples of such specializations include the spine apparatus of neuronal dendrites, and the cisternal organelle of axonal initial segments. Both organelles exhibit stacks of smooth ER sheets with a narrow lumen and interconnected by a dense protein matrix. The actin-binding protein synaptopodin is required for their formation. Here, we report that expression in non-neuronal cells of a synaptopodin construct targeted to the ER is sufficient to generate stacked ER cisterns resembling the spine apparatus with molecular properties distinct from the surrounding ER. Cisterns within these stacks are connected to each other by an actin-based matrix that contains proteins also found at the spine apparatus of neuronal spines. These findings reveal a critical role of a synaptopodin-dependent actin matrix in generating cisternal stacks. These ectopically generated structures provide insight into spine apparatus morphogenesis.

Abstract Objective: To analyze the application effect of nursing intervention based on the Transtheoretical Model in rehabilitating patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).
Methods: A retrospective analysis of clinical data was conducted for 156 CHF patients admitted to our hospital from May 2019 to September 2022. All patients met the complete inclusion criteria. They were divided into two groups based on the different nursing interventions provided during their treatment. The control group (n=78) received the routine nursing intervention, while the observation group (n=78) received nursing intervention based on the Transtheoretical Model and the care provided to the control group. The treatment compliance (MMAS-8 scale), quality of life (MLHFQ questionnaire), self-care ability (ESCA scale), cardiopulmonary function [anaerobic threshold oxygen consumption (VO2AT), carbon dioxide ventilation equivalent slope (VE/VCO2), peak VO2], and rehospitalization rates were compared between the two groups.
Results: Before the intervention, the two groups had no significant difference in MMAS-8 and MLHFQ scores (P > .05). After the intervention, the MMAS-8 scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (7.25±0.64 vs. 6.32±0.98), indicating improved treatment compliance. Additionally, the MLHFQ scores were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group (48.61±10.42 vs. 57.43±12.15, P < .05), indicating an enhanced quality of life. Before the intervention, the two groups had no significant differences in self-care skills, self-concept, health knowledge level, and self-care responsibility level (P > .05). However, after the intervention, the observation group showed significantly higher self-care skills (33.89±6.16 vs. 28.56±5.84), self-concept (24.79±3.96 vs. 21.34±4.15), health knowledge level (57.43±6.84 vs. 49.23±7.26), and self-care responsibility level (19.67±3.83 vs. 16.47±3.72) than the control group (P < .05). Before the intervention, the two groups had no significant differences in VO2AT, VE/VCO2, and peak VO2 levels (P > .05). However, after the intervention, the observation group exhibited significantly higher VO2AT (12.79±2.42 vs. 11.68±2.43) and peak VO2 levels (19.58±2.72 vs. 18.15±2.36) compared to the control group. VE/VCO2 levels were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group (28.32±3.16 vs. 30.47±3.42, P < .05). The rehospitalization rate in the control group was 35.90%, while it was 10.26% in the observation group. The rehospitalization rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < .05).
Conclusion: The integration of nursing intervention based on the Transtheoretical Model into the rehabilitation treatment of CHF patients exhibited significantly improved treatment compliance, enhanced self-care abilities, and favorable changes in cardiopulmonary function and quality of life. These outcomes carry important implications for CHF patients' overall health and well-being, including improved medication adherence, increased exercise tolerance, and reduced rehospitalization rates. The positive outcomes suggest that integrating nursing interventions based on the Transtheoretical Model into standard care for chronic heart failure patients holds promise, with potential applications in other chronic conditions, paving the way for personalized and effective healthcare strategies.

Abstract The gated recurrent unit (GRU) network can effectively capture temporal information for 1D signals, such as electroencephalography and event-related brain potential, and it has been widely used in the field of EEG emotion recognition. However, multi-domain features, including the spatial, frequency, and temporal features of EEG signals, contribute to emotion recognition, while GRUs show some limitations in capturing frequency-spatial features. Thus, we proposed a hybrid architecture of convolutional neural networks and GRUs (CGRU) to effectively capture the complementary temporal features and spatial-frequency features hidden in signal channels. In addition, to investigate the interactions among different brain regions during emotional information processing, we considered the functional connectivity relationship of the brain by introducing a phase-locking value to calculate the phase difference between the EEG channels to gain spatial information based on functional connectivity. Then, in the classification module, we incorporated attention constraints to address the issue of the uneven recognition contribution of EEG signal features. Finally, we conducted experiments on the DEAP and DREAMER databases. The results demonstrated that our model outperforms the other models with remarkable recognition accuracy of 99.51%, 99.60%, and 99.59% (58.67%, 65.74%, and 67.05%) on DEAP and 98.63%, 98.7%, and 98.71% (75.65%, 75.89%, and 71.71%) on DREAMER in a subject-dependent experiment (subject-independent experiment) for arousal, valence, and dominance.

Abstract ObjectiveTo determine the level of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and its association with thyroid autoantibodies and thyroid nodules in adult women for health examination in Shanghai.MethodsWe recruited a total of 2 108 healthy women for examination in the hospital. According to the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D, the women were classified into four groups: 25(OH)D≥30 μg·L-1 as sufficient group, 20 μg·L-1≤25(OH)D<30 μg·L-1 as insufficient group, 10 μg·L-1≤25(OH)D<20 μg·L-1 as the deficiency group, and<10 μg·L-1 as severe deficiency group. The association was determined between the serum 25(OH)D and thyroid autoantibodies and thyroid nodules.ResultsThe prevalence of deficiency in adult women was determined to be 69.31%. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (TGAB) and anti-thyroid peroxidase autoantibody (TPOAB) levels significantly differed between the severe deficiency group and sufficient group (each P<0.05). Moreover, prevalence of thyroid nodules, TGAB, TGAB and/or TPOAB differed significantly across the four groups (each P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that decrease of serum 25(OH)D was significantly associated with age and increasing prevalence of thyroid nodules, TGAB, TGAB and/or TPOAB.ConclusionVitamin D deficiency remains high in adult women for health examination in Shanghai. Serum 25(OH)D insufficiency or deficiency is associated with age, thyroid autoantibodies and thyroid nodules.

Abstract The mortality rate of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remains the first in malignant tumors of the female reproductive system. The characteristics of rapid proliferation, extensive implanted metastasis, and treatment resistance of cancer cells require an extensive metabolism rewiring during the progression of cancer development. EOC cells satisfy their rapid proliferation through the rewiring of perception, uptake, utilization, and regulation of glucose, lipids, and amino acids. Further, complete implanted metastasis by acquiring a superior advantage in microenvironment nutrients competing. Lastly, success evolves under the treatment stress of chemotherapy and targets therapy. Understanding the above metabolic characteristics of EOCs helps to find new methods of its treatment.

Abstract Eco-efficiency (EE) is an important indicator of regional sustainable development, which reflects the efficiency of regional economic development in using resources effectively to reduce environmental pressures, and foreign direct investment and environmental regulation are very important in promoting regional economic growth and enhancing eco-efficiency. In this paper, we chose China’s panel data from 2009 to 2021, measured China’s regional eco-efficiency using the super-efficient SBM model, and explored environmental regulation and the impact of FDI on EE in different regions using the Tobit model, with conclusions as follows: (1) The average value of national EE in China during 2009–2021 was about 0.631, which was at a low level, and there were significant differences between regions, with the highest EE in the eastern region, and the central and western regions being lower than the national average. (2) FDI at the national level had a significant promoting effect on regional EE, with an elasticity coefficient of 0.0213, which verifies that the “pollution paradise” effect does not exist at national level. FDI promoted EE in the eastern region, while not being significant in the other two regions. The impact of the environmental regulation act on EE at the national level did not pass the significance test, but the impact passed the significance test with positive coefficients for both the eastern and central regions, while in the western region it was not significant. (3) Financial investment in science and technology promoted EE in the national, east, and central regions significantly, while not being significant in the western region. The economic development level of all regions was positively correlated with EE; the impact of urbanization on EE was significantly positive in national, central, and western regions, but was not significant in the eastern region. The industrial structure of all regions was not conducive to the improvement of EE, with the western region having the most negative impact on EE. ...
