Abstract Coccidiosis is one of the most economically important diseases affecting the poultry industry. Currently, anticoccidial drugs used in veterinary clinics show many deficiencies, and new control measures are urgently needed. This study presents an anticoccidial herbal powder “Shi Yin Zi”, which consists of Cnidium monnieri (L.) Cuss, Taraxacum mongolicum Hand.-Mazz., and sodium chloride. In chickens infected with Eimeria tenella , supplementation with “Shi Yin Zi” powder for 3 d prior to infection or treatment with “Shi Yin Zi” powder after infection could improve the survival rate and relative growth rate and alleviate the pathological changes in the cecum, liver, and kidney. “Shi Yin Zi” powder could recover the levels of alanine aminotransferase, creatinine, albumin, and triglycerides in serum. The hemorrhage occurrence and total number of oocysts in feces were reduced. The anti-coccidial indexes reached 165 for the prophylactic effect and 144 for the therapeutic effect. The anti-coccidial effects were equal to positive controls (monensin and sulfamlopyrazine). These results suggest that “Shi Ying Zi” powder possesses a potent anticoccidial effect and exhibits the potential to control E. tenella infection.

Abstract The complete mitogenomes of Ying hybrid carp (Russian scattered scale mirror carp ♀ × Carp-goldfish nucleocytoplasmic hybrid ♂) was sequenced by PCR-based method. The total of the mtDNA was 16,581 bp, and consisted of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, 2rRNA genes, and 1 control region (D-loop region). The overall base composition was as follows: A: 31.9%, T: 24.8%, C: 27.5%, and G: 15.8%, respectively. The overall AT and GC skew were found to be 0.125 and -0.271, respectively. A majority of the genes used ATG as the start codon, except that the codon GTG was found to initiated the

Abstract In the peripheral nervous system, Schwann cells are the primary type of glia; their in vitro differentiation and dedifferentiation system has not been described in detail in the literature. Thus, an in vitro differentiation and dedifferentiation system of rat Schwann cells is described in this protocol. These cultures and systems may be used to investigate the morphological and biochemical effects of drug interventions or lentivirus-mediated gene transfer on Schwann cells during differentiation or dedifferentiation. Abstract The weathering of ancient glass relics has long been a concerned. Therefore, a systematic and more comprehensive mathematical model with which to correctly judge the category of ancient glass products whose chemical composition changes due to weathering should be established. This paper systematically analyzes and studies the changes in the composition of ancient glass products as a result of weathering of. We first analyze the surface weathering of glass relics and its correlation with three properties and establish a multivariable time-series model to predict the chemical-composition content before weathering. Next, we use one-way analysis of variance for subclassification and, finally, we use a principal component analysis of the rationality, and change the significance level to determine its sensitivity, for the reasonable prediction of the chemical-composition content and classification to provide a theoretical basis for improving the model. This allows the model to provide reference values, which can be used in the protection of cultural relics, historical research, and other fields.

In this illuminating study of working life, leading experts in the sociology of work draw on decades of large-scale survey data to consider various notions of the quality of work in the Britain. Exploring data on hundreds of occupations, it charts why some occupations feel more rewarding than others and sets out fresh policies that might generate greater fulfilment at work
