Abstract Background: Heart failure (HF) is one of the common and critical disease, and often accompanied by increased level of serum bilirubin, but the role of an indicator of bilirubin to monitor the prognosis of patients with heart failure is still unclear, so we implemented the study to systematically evaluate the predictive value of bilirubin in HF.
Methods: A comprehensive search and systematic review will be conducted on electronic databases such as Medline, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Clinical Trials Database of study on the relationship between bilirubin and prognosis of HF patients. Review Manager software (version 5.3.5) and STATA 14 software (version 14.0) will be used for data analysis and synthesis.
Results: The results will systematically and comprehensively reveal the evidence on the predictive value of bilirubin in HF.
Conclusion: The study will display the effect of bilirubin level on the prognosis of patients with heart failure, and help clinicians to pay more attention to the level of bilirubin in patients with HF, and can take certain treatment measures as earlier as possible.

Abstract Background: The combination of Chinese patent medicine Wenxin Granules (WXG) and antiarrhythmic drugs has been widely used in the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF), but the results are controversial. This study will conduct a network meta-analysis (NMA) based on data from randomized controlled trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of WXG combined with ADDs (amiodarone, metoprolol, propafenone, bisoprolol, or other antiarrhythmic drugs) in the treatment of AF, which will perform comparisons or rankings of efficacy among the currently available therapeutic schemes in order to provide evidence to determine the optimal threshold and treatment regimen to AF patients.
Methods and analysis: A comprehensive systematic literature search will be conducted in Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (SinoMed), Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and WanFang database for randomized controlled trials about the WXG with ADDs. The NMA will be conducted following the PRISMA-NMA guidelines. Statistical analyses will be conducted by using Stata software (version 14.0) and RevMan software (version 5.3).
Results: The results of this NMA will provide a high-quality evidence for the efficacy of WXG combined with ADDs in the treatment of AF, and a ranking of the therapeutic classes will also be presented.
Conclusion: The protocol will provide updated evidence for the application of WXG for AF.

Abstract Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common arrhythmias, and is high relative to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. AF-related complications and treatment costs bring about huge health burden, therefore the prevention recurrence of AF is imperative. "Upstream therapy" refers to the use of non-antiarrhythmic drugs (non-AADs) that modify the atrial substrate or target-specific mechanisms of AF to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of the arrhythmia. RAAS Blockers, aldosterone receptor antagonists and statins have an effect on preventing recurrence of atrial fibrillation. This protocol is designed for systematic review and network meta-analysis, which will assess comparative effects and safety of various non-antiarrhythmic drugs in preventing recurrence of atrial fibrillation.
Methods: The Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials.gov will be searched from inception to Aug 31, 2020 to identify relevant studies. The Cochrane "Risk of bias" tool will be used to assess the methodological quality of eligible studies. The pair-wise meta-analysis will be performed by STATA 14.0 software. The network meta-analysis will be implemented in a Bayesian framework using Win BUGS 1.4.3 and the package "gemtc" V.0.8.1 of R-3.6.2 software. The network plots will be drawn using STATA 14.0 software. A comparison-adjusted funnel plot will be used to assess the publication bias using STATA 14.0 software. Quality of evidence will be assessed using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach.
Results: The results of this network meta-analysis will determine the preventive effect and rank ordering of these interventions for recurrence of AF. The report will follow the PRISMA checklist for network meta-analysis.
Conclusion: This network meta-analysis will provide comprehensive evidence-based information in clinical practice.

Abstract Background: Coronaviruses have drawn attention since the beginning of the 21st century. Over the past 17 years, coronaviruses have triggered several outbreaks of epidemic in people, which brought great threats to global public health security. We analyzed the publications on coronavirus with bibliometrics software and qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated the knowledge base and hot topics of coronavirus research from 2003 to 2020.
Methods: We explored the publications on coronavirus in the Web of Science core collection (WOSCC) from 2003 to 2020. Bibliometric analysis, evaluating knowledge base, and research hotspots were performed based on CiteSpace V (Drexel University, Chaomei Chen).
Results: There were a total of 8433 publications of coronavirus. The research on coronavirus boomed when a novel coronavirus triggered outbreaks in people. The leading country was the United States, and the leading institution was the University of Hong Kong. The most productive researchers were: Yuen KY, Drosten C, Baric RS. The keywords analysis showed that SARS-CoV, infection, acute respiratory syndrome, antibody, receptor, and spike protein were research hotspots. The research categories analysis showed that virology, microbiology, veterinary sciences, infectious diseases, and biochemistry and molecular biology were hot research categories.
Conclusions: Bibliometric analysis of the literature shows the research on coronavirus boomed when a novel coronavirus triggered outbreaks in people. With the end of the epidemic, the research tended to be cooling. Virus identification, pathogenesis, and coronavirus-mediated diseases attracted much attention. We must continue studying the viruses after an outbreak ended.

Abstract The crosstalk between the heart and kidney is carried out through various bidirectional pathways. Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) is a pathological condition in which acute or chronic dysfunction in the heart or kidneys induces acute or chronic dysfunction of the other organ. Complex hemodynamic factors and biochemical and hormonal pathways contribute to the development of CRS. In addition to playing a critical role in generating metabolic energy in eukaryotic cells and serving as signaling hubs during several vital processes, mitochondria rapidly sense and respond to a wide range of stress stimuli in the external environment. Impaired adaptive responses ultimately lead to mitochondrial dysfunction, inducing cell death and tissue damage. Subsequently, these changes result in organ failure and trigger a vicious cycle.

Abstract Background: The high recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation (AF) after recovering sinus rhythm has always been a clinical problem. Despite the established and widespread use of antiarrhythmic drugs, which one is better for maintaining sinus rhythm is still controversial. This study aims to summarize the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of amiodarone combined with beta blockers to maintain sinus rhythm in AF, and to determine an effective and safe intervention for the prevention of AF recurrence through network meta-analysis (NMA).
Methods and analysis: A comprehensive search of the RCTs comparing amiodarone with different beta-blockers to maintain sinus rhythm of AF patients will be conducted from the inception to December 2019 in the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (SinoMed), Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and WanFang database. The primary outcomes will be the recurrence of AF and frequency of embolization complications. The secondary outcomes will be the symptom improvements and adverse events. Risk of bias assessment of the included RCTs will be conducted according to the Cochrane collaboration's risk of bias tool. Pairwise meta-analyses and Bayesian network meta-analyses will be performed for all related outcome measures. GRADE will be used to evaluate the quality of evidence.
Results: The results of this NMA will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
Conclusion: This NMA may provide more recommendations for patients and researchers, such as which treatment is better for a particular case of AF, and what may be the hotspots for the future studies.
Prospero registration number: The protocol for this NMA has been registered on PROSPERO under the number CRD42020164438.
