Abstract Aβ bears homology to the CaMKII regulatory domain, and peptides derived from this domain can bind and disrupt the CaMKII holoenzyme, suggesting that Aβ could have a similar effect. Notably, Aβ impairs the synaptic CaMKII accumulation that is mediated by GluN2B binding, which requires CaMKII assembly into holoenzymes. Furthermore, this Aβ-induced impairment is prevented by CaMKII inhibitors that should also inhibit the putative direct Aβ binding. However, our study did not find any evidence for direct effects of Aβ on CaMKII: Aβ did not directly disrupt CaMKII holoenzymes, GluN2B binding, T286 autophosphorylation, or kinase activity

Abstract Background: The Divided or Single Exposure (DOSE) trial is a double-blind, placebo-controlled examination of once versus split dosing of methadone for comorbid pain and opioid use disorder (OUD) among persons receiving methadone for OUD treatment.
Methods: This multisite trial consists of a 12-week active intervention phase and 6-month follow-up period. Persons receiving methadone who endorse clinically-significant chronic pain are randomized into once-daily dosing or split dosing that is managed remotely via an electronic pillbox. Clinical pain is assessed weekly and using ecological momentary assessments. Experimentally-evoked pain is assessed using a quantitative sensory testing battery. Additional outcomes related to OUD, including withdrawal and craving, are also collected.
Results: The study hypothesizes that persons assigned to the split dosing condition will report lower pain and opioid withdrawal relative to persons assigned to the traditional once-daily dosing strategy.
Conclusions: Split dosing is a relatively common technique in OUD treatments; therefore, if data support this hypothesis, there is high potential for implementation.

Abstract Background: Patient experience is receiving increasing attention in the context of patient-centered care. However, there are relatively few instruments that measure patient experience that are valid and reliable.
Objective: In this study, we systematically review the literature on the Consumer Emergency Care Satisfaction Scale (CECSS) and examine its psychometric properties.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature search in the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, PubMed, PsycINFO, and Web of Science databases on articles that contain information on the CECSS. The review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
Results: Our systematic literature search resulted in 28 articles in which the CECSS was used.
Conclusions: Results of our literature review show that from a psychometric perspective, the CECSS is a valid and reliable instrument. However, the results of our study also show that the CECSS has several weaknesses. We have made recommendations to improve the CECSS.

Abstract Objectives: Older adults' wellbeing during the transition into an assisted living facility (ALF) is not well understood and may influence their wellbeing. The Mueller Assessment of Transition (MAT) was created to measure the impact of transition on older adults' wellbeing. Early developmental testing of the MAT revealed a hypothesized model with two constructs (adjustment strategies and constraints to wellbeing). Therefore, the purpose of this study was to confirm the factor structure of the MAT with a representative sample of older adults transitioning into ALFs.
Methods: In a nationwide sample, 108 older adult participants completed the MAT to measure wellbeing when relocating into ALFs. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) assessed the structural validity of the MAT. Internal consistency was evaluated, and chi-square tests of association for regional differences in MAT scores were also conducted.
Results: The CFA produced strong fit indices to confirm the hypothesized 2-factor (constraints to wellbeing and adjustment strategies) model of the MAT. Cronbach's alpha for the internal consistency was 0.784 and chi-square test indicated no significant regional differences.
Conclusion: The MAT was established as a valid and reliable standardized assessment. Implications for using the MAT as a tool to measure older adults' wellbeing and future research are discussed.
