    Abstract Objective: To evaluate the diversity of germplasm resources of Artemisia annua and provide the basis for improving utilization of germplasm resources, the agronomic traits of germplasm resources of A. annua were studied in Yun-Gui plateau.
    Method: The agronomic traits of 67 A. annua germplasm resources were measured by the visual observation and measurement methods. And the germplasm resources were clustered using flexible-beta method to analysis their genetic background.
    Result: The result showed that 67 germplasm resources had a relatively wide variation on the 22 agronomic traits. Among 22 agronomic traits, the dry weight of branch had the greatest coefficient of variation, which was 53. 63, and the next were the dry weight of leaf, total plant weight, the length of pinnules and the length of leaflet, which were 42.74, 41.61, 39.54 and 39.22 respectively. The smallest coefficient of variation was the leaf corlor. Based the result of cluster analysis, these 67 germplasm resources were classed into 5 groups, and each group had its respective character. The first group showed early-maturing resources, dwarf stalk, slender rod, long bipinnata, high leaf-stem ratio and moderate leaf weight The third group showed late-maturing resources, tall and thick stalk, much-branch, bushy accessory pinna, high leaf weight and yield. The fifth group showed very late-maturing resources, strong lateral shoot, high leaf yield.
    Conclusion: There were significant genetic difference and diversity in the germplasm resources of A. annua. The result of cluster analysis showed that the resources of group 1, group 3 and group 5 were suitable as breeding material of A. annua.

    Abstract Introduction: We previously demonstrated the hemostatic effects of notoginseng using a rat bleeding model. Yun-Nan-Bai-Yao is a proprietary product for external use in China to treat bleeding but the hemostatic effects have not been proven. This study was conducted to compare the hemostatic effects of notoginseng to that of Yun-Nan- Bai-Yao and placebo control.
    Methods: Rats (n = 37) were randomized into 3 groups and their tails were transected 5mm from the tip in this blinded investigation. Group 1 received placebo (wheat flour, n = 17), group 2 received notoginseng (n = 10) and group 3 received the Yun-Nan-Bai-Yao (n = 10). The total bleeding time was determined and compared among groups.
    Results: Beeding time in minutes was 29.7% and 22.3% lower in the notoginseng and Yun-Nan-Bai-Yao groups than the placebo group (p < 0.001 and p < 0.001, respectively). No significant difference was found between the two active groups (p = 0.418).
    Conclusions: When applied externally, both notoginseng and Yun-Nan-Bai-Yao provide appreciable hemostatic effects compared to placebo.

    Abstract Aim: This research aimed to explore the professional literacies that should be possessed by Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry talents. This understanding will also help the technical and vocational education system to cultivate talents in Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry.
    Methods: A qualitative research design was adopted. The outline of the interview on the professional literacy of Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry talents was compiled, and seven interviewees were selected by purposive sampling from those who had worked (including supervisors) in Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry for 21 to 42 years. One-on-one in-depth interviews with semi-structured interview questions were conducted. Using grounded theory, the content of the in-depth interviews was analyzed and discussed.
    Results and discussion: This study discusses what professional literacy of Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry talents should possess from the practical perspective of Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry leaders or senior managers. This study shows that bag manufacturing industry talents should possess knowledge, skills, and attitudes and values of common professional literacies. Moreover, bag designers, manufacturing technicians, patternmakers, hand stitchers, and production supervisors should acquire these professional literacies. The results of this study will help Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry leaders or senior managers to highlight the importance of professional literacy that Taiwan's bag manufacturing industry talents should possess.
    Conclusion: This study summarized the professional literacy of bag manufacturing industry talents into three major aspects: knowledge, skills, and attitudes and values. Based on this, suggestions are made as a reference for the implementation of curriculum development for talent cultivation in higher education institutions, and a reference for the learning and on-the-job training of bag manufacturing industry practitioners in the workplace.
