The present work looks for a knowledge of multiplícate rate and mortality index of. S. punctata to several concentrations of butachlor, propanil and gliphosate as well as to compare two different methods. On essay 1 the concentrations were a little toxic provoking low index of mortality in spite of it has occured inhibition of increasing on stronger concentrations. The essay 2 showed what, the butachlor and the propanil are more toxics than the gliphosate, with values of mortality of 100% in only 48 hours. The multiplícate rate, on this essay, was only determinated to the gliphosate, because the other herbicides were highly toxic to the species. It was checked on the comparation of the two different methods the posts used on essay 2 were more appropriate to the cultive specie and the toxic effects must be observated on considered individualy and not on whole plants.

Abstract Studies have underscored a growingdemand for innovative practices in the cultivation of seedlings from forest species, with a notable emphasis on the utilization of organic waste, inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), and phosphate fertilization. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of organic residues, inoculation with AMF, and phosphorus on the growth and quality of Peltophorum dubium (Spreng.) Taub. seedlings. Two independent experiments were conducted. In Experiment I, treatments included inoculation with various AMF species: control (without inoculation), Clareoideoglomus etunicatum, Rhizophagus heterosporum, Rhizophagus clarum, and MIX (a combination of the three AMF species), all in conjunction with varying doses of phosphorus (0, 60, 120, 180, and 240 mg kg-1 soil). In Experiment II, treatments comprised a control group (without AMF) and inoculation with Glomus clarum, Gigaspora margarita, Gigaspora albida, Clareoideoglomus etunicatum, and MIX (a combination of the four AMF species), each associated with four substrates: S1) soil + coarse sand - SCS, S2) SCS + poultry manure, S3) SCS + cattle manure, and S4) SCS + sheep manure. Peltophorum dubium seedlings exhibited heightened growth with the inoculation of R. heterosporum, R. clarum, and MIX. Positive responses were observed in seedlings when exposed to organic residues, particularly sheep manure, resulting in increased biomass production and enhanced Dickson quality index. The AMF inoculation, specifically with R. heterosporum, R. clarum, and MIX, provided optimal growth conditions for P. dubium seedlings. Remarkably, the utilization of organic residues, notably substrates with chicken manure and cattle manure, exerted substantial positive effects on both growth and quality of P. dubium seedlings.

Abstract Background: Body composition might influence lung function and asthma in children, but its longitudinal relations are unclear. We aimed to identify critical periods for body composition changes during childhood and adolescence in relation to respiratory outcomes in adolescents.
Methods: In a population-based prospective cohort study, we measured body mass index, fat mass index (FMI), lean mass index (LMI) and the ratio of android fat mass divided by gynoid fat mass (A/G ratio) by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry at 6, 10 and 13 years. At 13 years, lung function was measured by spirometry, and current asthma was assessed by questionnaire.
Results: Most prominently and consistently, higher FMI and A/G ratio at age 13 years were associated with lower forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV
Conclusion: Adolescents with higher total and abdominal fat indices may have impaired lung function, while those with a higher lean mass during childhood and adolescence may have better small airway function. Public health measures should focus on a healthy body composition in adolescents to minimise respiratory morbidity.

Abstract Background: The perineal hernia is a condition that occurs as a result of a defect in the pelvic diaphragm. It is classified as anterior or posterior, and as either a primary or secondary hernia. The best management of this condition remains controversial.
Objectives: To demonstrate the surgical steps of a laparoscopic repair with mesh of a perineal hernia.
Materials and methods: A video presentation showing the laparoscopic repair of a recurrent perineal hernia.
Main outcome measures: A 46-year-old woman with a prior history of a primary perineal hernia repair had complaints of a symptomatic vulvar bulge. Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging showed a 5 cm hernia sac at the right anterior pelvic wall containing adipose tissue. A laparoscopic perineal hernia repair was performed by dissection of the space of Retzius, reduction of the hernial sac, closure of the defect and mesh fixation.
Results: The laparoscopic repair with mesh of a recurrent perineal hernia is demonstrated.
Conclusion: We showed that the laparoscopic approach can be an effective and reproducible treatment for perineal hernia.
Learning objective: Understanding of the surgical steps involved in the laparoscopic repair with mesh of a recurrent perineal hernia.

Abstract The symbiosis between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and fruit tree plants is a sustainable strategy for producing seedlings. However, information for Dipteryx alata Vogel., a native species, is still scarce. Thus, this study aimed to identify the most promising AMF inoculum for producing D. alata seedlings and their effects on growth. Seedlings were inoculated with Clareoideoglomus etunicatum, Gigaspora albida, Gigaspora margarita, a mixture of these three species, and an uninoculated control. Height, diameter, and chlorophyll index were evaluated at 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 days after seedling transplanting, while biomass production, quality index, dependence, and mycorrhizal efficiency were evaluated at 180 days. Greater diameter and height values were observed for D. alata seedlings at 180 days and inoculated with G. albida, G. margarita, and the mixture. AMF of the genus Gigaspora positively contributed to biomass production and seedling quality. D. alata seedlings show high mycorrhizal dependence on G. albida and G. margarita inoculum, which had good mycorrhizal efficiency. AMF, especially those of the genus Gigaspora, favor the production of high-quality D. alata seedlings.

Abstract Lignin, a complex plant cell wall component, holds promise as a renewable aromatic carbon feedstock. p-Vanillin is a key product of lignin depolymerization and a precursor of protocatechuic acid (PCA) that has tremendous potential for biofuel production. While the GcoAB enzyme, native to Amycolatopsis sp., naturally catalyzes aryl-O-demethylation toward guaiacol, recent research introduced a single mutation, T296S, into the GcoAP450 enzyme, enabling it to catalyze aryl-O-demethylation of p-vanillin. This structural modification increases the efficiency of GcoAP450 for the natural substrate while being active for p-vanillin. This study reveals the increased flexibility of p-vanillin and its ability to adapt a favorable conformation by aligning the methoxy group in close proximity to Fe(IV) = O of Cpd I in the active site of the T296S variant. The QM/MM calculations in accordance with the experimental data validated that the rate-limiting step for the oxidation of p-vanillin is hydrogen atom abstraction and provided a detailed geometric structure of stationary and saddle points for the oxidation of p-vanillin.
