Abstract Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the completeness and legibility of prescriptions dispensed in community pharmacies located in Sana’a, Yemen. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at 23 randomly selected community pharmacies throughout the capital city of Sana’a, Yemen, from May 2015 to January 2016. A total of 2,178 prescriptions were analyzed for the essential elements of a complete prescription using a validated checklist. Results: Of the 2,178 prescriptions, 19 (0.87%) were considered to be of good quality. The remaining 2,159 (99.12%) were considered as being of very poor quality. Writing errors relating to patients and prescribed medications were the most common errors. Conclusion: In this study, the quality of prescription writing was found to be very poor. Hence, continuous professional development programs are recommended to improve the quality of prescription writing among physicians. Future studies in other cities and investigation of the impact of continuous educational programs on the quality of prescription writing are strongly recommended.

Abstract Introduction: Blended learning, which integrates classroom face-to-face teaching with both asynchronous and synchronous online learning elements, has swiftly gained acceptance in educational environments. However, the implementation of blended learning presents challenges that impact all stakeholders, necessitating thoughtful consideration. Teachers play a central role in shaping the instructional experience among these stakeholders. To fully realize the potential of comprehensive blended learning, it is imperative to identify the challenges faced by these teachers and develop strategies that sensibly address and overcome them.
Methodology: A qualitative exploratory study was conducted with twelve teachers involved in the postgraduate blended learning health professions program at Khyber Medical University, Peshawar in 2022. One-on-one semi-structured Interviews were conducted via WhatsApp/ZOOM, transcribed by Otter AI, coded on NVivo & analyzed using Braun/Clarke's Thematic Analysis.
Results: Three themes of challenges faced by teachers of postgraduate blended learning programs were constructed namely (1) Skills, such as (i) digital, (ii) instructional, and (iii) online class management, and (2) Administrative barriers in terms of (iv) resources (iv) training, and (3) Faculty resistance.
Conclusion: This study provides profound insights into the daunting challenges that postgraduate blended learning program teachers encounter in terms of skills, administrative barriers, and faculty resistance. These findings offer a valuable opportunity for program directors to identify the critical requirements of these faculties in their pursuit of effective teaching and learning, ultimately transforming the landscape of blended education. This study emphasizes the need for ongoing faculty development and institutional support to address the identified challenges and improve the quality of postgraduate blended-learning programs.

Abstract The burden of infant malnutrition is greatest in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Infant malnutrition is defined based on distinct subcategories, among them stunting (low-height-for-age) and wasting (low-weight-for-height). Some experts are shifting more toward understanding the interplay between these overlapping phenotypes and other confounding factors such as maternal nutrition and environmental hygiene. Current guidelines emphasize appropriate breastfeeding and nutrition within the 1000 days from conception to a child's second birthday to optimize early development. Future research directed toward better biomarkers of malnutrition before acute clinical symptoms develop will help direct targeted efforts toward at-risk populations.

Abstract Objective: To develop an effective antimicrobial strategy for the management of chronic osteomyelitis.
Study design: Observational study. Place and Duration of the Study: Departments of Microbiology and Orthopaedics, Combined Military Hospital Malir, Karachi, Pakistan, from January 2021 to February 2022.
Methodology: Bone biopsies of 45 enrolled participants were taken for microbiological evaluation. Intravenous antibiotic therapy was begun as per empirical therapy based on the local antibiogram and antibiotic policy. Once the susceptibility pattern was available, targeted therapy started and continued for 28 to 42 days. Patients were evaluated based on inflammatory markers and clinical conditions for a minimum of six months to a maximum of one year.
Results:  Out of the 45 patients, the majority 29% were soldiers, 40% belonging to the age group of 31-60 years. The common predisposing factor was trauma/fractures followed by diabetes and implants leading to chronic sinus discharge and decubitus ulcers. The most commonly isolated organism was Staphylococcus aureus (38%) followed by Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) (31%). Cotrimoxazole and Rifampicin turned out to be good treatment options. Only 4.4% showed unsatisfactory prognosis, nonetheless, no mortality was observed during the course of treatment.
Conclusion: In this study, highly resistant strains were observed with limited treatment options for chronic osteomyelitis, however, effective stewardship programmes with accurate diagnostic reporting and judicious use of antimicrobials can prevent overuse of the valuable resources.

Abstract Purpose of review: The Management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has evolved with the introduction and widespread adoption of biologic agents; however, the advent of artificial intelligence technologies like machine learning and deep learning presents another watershed moment in IBD treatment. Interest in these methods in IBD research has increased over the past 10 years, and they offer a promising path to better clinical outcomes for IBD patients.
Recent findings: Developing new tools to evaluate IBD and inform clinical management is challenging because of the expansive volume of data and requisite manual interpretation of data. Recently, machine and deep learning models have been used to streamline diagnosis and evaluation of IBD by automating review of data from several diagnostic modalities with high accuracy. These methods decrease the amount of time that clinicians spend manually reviewing data to formulate an assessment.
Summary: Interest in machine and deep learning is increasing in medicine, and these methods are poised to revolutionize the way that we treat IBD. Here, we highlight the recent advances in using these technologies to evaluate IBD and discuss the ways that they can be leveraged to improve clinical outcomes.
