Abstract "This book presents a comprehensive study of the role that the Blue Flag beach program has played around the world, considering economic, social and environmental perspectives. Since its creation in the 1980's, The Blue Flag program awards the management of beaches and marinas based on sustainability, services and quality of their management. To date there are currently near five thousand awards around the world. Over forty years since its creation, this book provides a thorough evaluation of the program, to understand how it has evolved over time, the successes it has enjoyed and the challenges it has overcome, and may face in the future. As an international program, this book reflects the global nature of this program and actively discusses, examines and assesses the different realities and challenges faced by different countries around the world, drawing on case studies from across Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia. It examines the impact of the award on economic growth, from local to national, environmental protection and education, the development of sustainable tourism, and the sustainable management of beaches. The volume also contributes to emerging debates surrounding the certification of natural resources, where the Blue Flag program has been a pioneer in this field. This book will be of great interest to students and scholars of sustainable tourism, environmental economics, coastal and beach management, environmental conservation and sustainable development"--

Abstract Beach tourism in an important industry in many countries, and in the Mediterranean it supposes an extra pressure on the seawater quality. Concern about this aspect led the European Union to issue a first directive on the quality of bathing water in 1976 and modify it in 2006. This regulation establishes a mandatory control, in all European Union (EU) countries, of the proliferation of bacteria (specifically Intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli) that can cause serious harm to public health. Meanwhile, the Blue Flag program born in 1987 as an award granted by the Foundation for Environmental Education, to which all municipalities that so wish can voluntarily participate, aimed to publicly value beaches. This award adds to the beaches that receive it a commitment to superior water quality, among other requirements, to that required by the European Union which attracts tourists. The aim of this paper is to obtain empirical evidence of beaches awarded with a Blue Flag (BF) have cleaner waters than those ones that have not in the three main tourist destinations in the Mediterranean that represents circa 5000 coastal monitoring points: Spain, France and Italy. The results point out that the BF areas have significantly cleaner waters than the monitoring points that are not in these areas.

Abstract Objectives: We assessed the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy and bupropion compared to cognitive behavioral therapy alone for methamphetamine use disorder.
Methods: The selection criteria for this systematic review study with meta-analysis were randomized clinical trials on the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy and bupropion in the treatment for methamphetamine use disorder (assessed by urine metabolites). The search was conducted in PubMed, PubMed Central, LILACS, SciELO, Cochrane Library, SCOPUS, Google Scholar, Ovid Medline, Clinicaltrials.gov, and the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform. The primary outcome was relapse. Risk of bias was assessed with the RoB 2 tool. The results of each clinical trial were input into an Excel spreadsheet. We performed a meta-analysis using relative risk and a 95%CI.
Results: Of the 597 initial articles (498 after removing duplicate records), five were included in the meta-analysis, with an aggregate sample of 539 patients. An overall relative risk of 0.91 (95%CI 0.78-1.05) was estimated for relapse.
Conclusion: Our study limitations included publication bias and heterogeneous populations. We found no evidence that cognitive behavioral therapy and bupropion reduced the risk of relapse compared to cognitive behavioral therapy and placebo.

Abstract One of the main characteristics of prokaryotic genomes is the ratio in which guanine-cytosine bases are used in their DNA sequences. This is known as the genomic GC content and varies widely, from values below 20% to values greater than 74%. It has been demonstrated that the genomic GC content varies in accordance with the phylogenetic distribution of organisms and influences the amino acid composition of their corresponding proteomes. This bias is particularly important for amino acids that are coded by GC content-rich codons such as alanine, glycine, and proline, as well as amino acids that are coded by AT-rich codons, such as lysine, asparagine, and isoleucine. In our study, we extend these results by considering the effect of the genomic GC content on the secondary structure of proteins. On a set of 192 representative prokaryotic genomes and proteome sequences, we identified through a bioinformatic study that the composition of the secondary structures of the proteomes varies in relation to the genomic GC content; random coils increase as the genomic GC content increases, while alpha-helices and beta-sheets present an inverse relationship. In addition, we found that the tendency of an amino acid to form part of a secondary structure of proteins is not ubiquitous, as previously expected, but varies according to the genomic GC content. Finally, we discovered that for some specific groups of orthologous proteins, the GC content of genes biases the composition of secondary structures of the proteins for which they code.
