Abstract Inflammation plays a predominant role in the pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). The Shenyan Kangfu tablet (SYKFT) is a prescription of traditional Chinese medicine for treating chronic kidney disease. However, the concrete mechanism is still unclear. According to previous clinical trial, we explored the effects and potential mechanism on DKD in db/db model supplemented with SYKFT. As a result, SYKFT reduced stimulated blood glucose and HbA1c levels, alleviated renal dysfunction, glomerular and tubular damage, and renal inflammation (TNF-α and IL-1β) in db/db mice. The primary mechanistic study illustrated that SYKFT improved renal injury mainly associated with inhibition of NF-κB in vivo and in vitro. This study further observed that SYKFT increased relative abundance of Firmicutes and decreased Bacteroidetes, showing direct correlation between representative microbiota relative abundance and renal function parameters. SYKFT effectively decreased the relative abundance of Bacteroides, and positive correlation between the relative abundance and protein expression of NF-κB, TNF-α and IL-1β predicted that anti-inflammatory activity of SYKFT was associated with modulating the gut microbiota. Therefore, we first demonstrated SYKFT alleviated DKD through regulating renal inflammatory signaling cascades and intestinal microbiota and also pointed out the role of specific gut microbiota in the development of DKD.

Abstract Objective: to study pharmacological mechanism of Laosun Kangfu tablet.
Method: Blood-activating and stasis-removing was tested by establishing cute cold pathogens induced blood stasis rat model and microcirculation disturbance state rat model by means of dripping adrenine on the mensentery. The resisting oxidation was tested by establishing the freely falling body damages models. The kidney-notifying was tested by Acetic acid hydrocortisone-caused kidney asthenia of mice.
Result: All of the experimental results showed that there were Significant differences between the treatment groups and the control groups, such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, resisting the oxidation, the kidney-notifying actions.
Conclusion: Effects of Huoxue Xiaozhong and Xingqi Zhitong of Laosun Kangfu tablet is because the action of improving microcirculation, antioxidation and regulating endocrine.

Abstract Capitalizing on structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI), existing deep learning methods (especially convolutional neural networks, CNNs) have been widely and successfully applied to computer-aided diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and its prodromal stage (i.e. mild cognitive impairment, MCI). Abstract Pulse crops are considered minor on a global scale despite their nutritional value for human consumption. Therefore, they are relatively less extensively studied in comparison with the major crops. The need to improve pulse crop production and quality will increase with the increasing global demand for food security and people's awareness of nutritious food. The improvement of pulse crops will require fully utilizing all their genetic resources. Bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) libraries of pulse crops are essential genomic resources that have the potential to accelerate gene discovery and enhance molecular breeding in these crops. Here, we review the availability, characteristics, applications, and potential applications of the BAC libraries of pulse crops.

Abstract Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been widely used in assessing development of Alzheimer's disease (AD) by providing structural information of disease-associated regions (e.g. atrophic regions). In this paper, we propose a light-weight cross-view hierarchical fusion network (CvHF-net), consisting of local patch and global subject subnets, for joint localization and identification of the discriminative local patches and regions in the whole brain MRI, upon which feature representations are then jointly learned and fused to construct hierarchical classification models for AD diagnosis. Firstly, based on the extracted class-discriminative 3D patches, we employ the local patch subnets to utilize multiple 2D views to represent 3D patches by using an attention-aware hierarchical fusion structure in a divide-and-conquer manner. Since different local patches are with various abilities in AD identification, the global subject subnet is developed to bias the allocation of available resources towards the most informative parts among these local patches to obtain global information for AD identification. Besides, an instance declined pruning algorithm is embedded in the CvHF-net for adaptively selecting most discriminant patches in a task-driven manner. The proposed method was evaluated on the AD Neuroimaging Initiative dataset and the experimental results show that our proposed method can achieve good performance on AD diagnosis.

Abstract Soybean is a valuable crop, used in animal feed and for human consumption. Selecting soybean cultivars with low seed cadmium (Cd) concentration is important for the purpose of minimizing the transfer of Cd into the human body. To ensure international trade, farmers need to produce soybean that meets the European Union (EU) Cd limit of 0.2 mg kg

Abstract Objective: Welding fume exposure is inevitable of welding workers and poses a severe hazard to their health since welding is a necessary industrial process. Thus, preclinical diagnostic symptoms of worker exposure are of great importance. The aim of this study was to screen serum differential metabolites of welding fume exposure based on UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS.
Methods: In 2019, 49 participants were recruited at a machinery manufacturing factory. The non-target metabolomics technique was used to clarify serum metabolic signatures in people exposed to welding fume. Differential metabolites were screened by OPLS-DA analysis and Student's t-test. The receiver operating characteristic curve evaluated the discriminatory power of differential metabolites. And the correlations between differential metabolites and metal concentrations in urine and whole blood were analyzed utilizing Pearson correlation analysis.
Results: Thirty metabolites were increased significantly, and 5 metabolites were decreased. The differential metabolites are mainly enriched in the metabolism of arachidonic acid, glycero phospholipid, linoleic acid, and thiamine. These results observed that lysophosphatidylcholine (20:1/0:0) and phosphatidylglycerol(PGF1α/16:0) had a tremendous anticipating power with relatively increased AUC values (AUC > 0.9), and they also presented a significant correlation of Mo concentrations in whole blood and Cu concentrations in urine, respectively.
Conclusion: The serum metabolism was changed significantly after exposure to welding fume. Lysophosphatidylcholine (20:1/0:0) and phosphatidylglycerol (PGF1α/16:0) may be a potential biological mediator and biomarker for laborers exposure to welding fume.
