Abstract The muzzle of barrel weapons produces a large amount of smoke (muzzle smoke), a major source of pollution in the battlefield. Quantitative assessment of muzzle smoke is an important support for the development of advanced propellants. However, due to the lack of effective measurement methods for field experiments, most of the previous studies were based on a smoke box, and few studies have focused on muzzle smoke in the field environment. In view of the nature of the muzzle smoke and the conditions of the field environment, the characteristic quantity of muzzle smoke (CQMS) was defined based on the Beer-Lambert law in this paper. CQMS is used to characterize the danger level of muzzle smoke produced by the propellant charge, and theoretical calculations indicated that when the transmittance is

Abstract Background: There is an increasing evidence that pulmonary vein (PV) enlargement is associated with atrial fibrillation (AF); however, the predictive value of PV enlargement in AF recurrence remains unclear. This study sought to evaluate whether PV volume quantification derived from cardiac computed tomographic angiography (CCTA) could serve as a predictive indicator of the success of the catheter ablation (CA) procedure.
Methods: The data of 160 patients diagnosed with AF who underwent both CCTA and CA treatments from January to June 2020 were retrospectively examined; the CCTA was conducted before the CA surgery. The study focused on documenting the PV structure, and the volume of the PV and left atrium (LA). The clinical, CCTA, and echocardiographic predictors of the recurrence and no-recurrence groups were compared. A multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to adjust for confounders. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were analyzed to assess the predictive performance of the predictors of AF recurrence.
Results: Of the 160 patients [55.6% male, 62.00 (55.25-68.00) years, 23.1% with persistent AF], 45 (28.1%) experienced AF recurrence within a one-year period. Notably, patients with AF recurrence had elevated CHADS
Conclusions: PV volume, derived from CCTA, may help to predict the recurrence of AF after CA, and is superior to the LA size in patients with less pronounced LA enlargement.

Abstract Dialectically linking with heterogenous suppliers, manufacturers, consumers and resources, emerging e-commerce platforms achieve and maintain competitive advantage. Based on different levels of innovation network content and structure, YEATION and YOUPIN, two typical ecommerce platforms, adopt different strategies involving the promotion of value-seeking. Many decisions concern how companies perceive the innovation environment and how to engage in the innovation network. Knowledge base view provides useful theoretical lens to understand the network embedding approach for electric business platform enterprises. To put forward, enterprises with wide breadth should adopt structural strategy give priority to relational embeddedness, on the other hand, enterprises of which the depth of knowledge base is deep and width of insufficient shall adopt strategy give priority to the embedding of structure. It is also proposed that platform enterprises should not adopt a single embeddedness strategy but should adopt auxiliary embeddedness strategy in a timely manner.

Abstract This study aimed to compare the postoperative analgesic efficacy and motor recovery of a novel lumbar plexus block (LPB) with that of a femoral nerve block (FNB) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Forty patients who underwent TKA were randomised equally into an lumbar plexus and sciatic nerve (LS) group (receiving novel LPB) and an femoral and sciatic nerves (FS) group (receiving FNB). The assessed variables were the onset time of pain, time to the first analgesic request, pain scores, motor block at 6, 12, and 24 h after TKA, and the number of patients receiving successful blockade for each branch of the lumbar plexus. In the LS group, the femoral, lateral femoral cutaneous, genitofemoral, iliohypogastric, ilioinguinal, and obturator nerves were blocked in 18, 20, 16, 18, 15, and 19 patients. Compared to the FS group, the LS group had a significantly shorter onset time of pain and time to the first analgesic request, a significantly larger total postoperative dose of sufentanil, significantly higher numeric rating scale scores for both rest and dynamic pain at 6, 12, and 24 h, and faster motor recovery. Novel ultrasound-guided LPB has a high blocking success rate and provides inferior postoperative analgesia, but faster motor recovery after TKA than FNB.

Abstract Objectives: In this review, we discuss the efficacy and safety of biodegradable magnesium screws compared to titanium screws in the treatment of hallux valgus (HV) in patients undergoing distal metatarsal osteotomy (DMO).
Materials and methods: Eligible scientific articles published prior to October 2022 were retrieved from the PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane Library databases. The terms used for searching included "hallux valgus", "distal metatarsal osteotomies", and "bioabsorbable magnesium screw" which were limited in the title or abstract through the text. The title and abstract were checked one by one to exclude the non-related studies. For primary identified studies and relevant systematic reviews, the full texts were accessed and browsed to finally include the eligible studies. No restriction was set on publication language and publication status.
Results: Two randomized-controlled trials (RCTs) and three non-RCTs that met the inclusion criteria were included. There was no significant difference in the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score, postoperative HV angle (HVA), intermetatarsal angle (IMA), Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score, soft tissue irritation, implant fracture, reoperation, and infection rates between two groups.
Conclusion: Bioabsorbable magnesium compression screws show comparable clinical or radiological results to titanium compression screws in the treatment of HV in patients undergoing DMO.
