Abstract Dressler Syndrome (DS) is a febrile illness secondary to an inflammatory reaction involving the pleura and pericardium. It is more common in patients who have undergone surgery that involves opening the pericardium. However, DS has also been described following myocardial infarction and as an unusual complication after percutaneous procedures such as coronary stent implantation, after implantation of epicardial pacemaker leads and transvenous pacemaker leads, and following blunt trauma, stab wounds, and heart puncture. Pericardial effusions often accompany the syndrome and may develop into early or late postoperative cardiac tamponade and even recurrent cardiac tamponade. The syndrome is also characterized by pericardial or pleuritic pain, pleural effusions, pneumonitis, and abnormal ECG and radiography findings.

Abstract In this study, the aim was to optimize the cross-sectional geometry of auxetic dowels for furniture joints. For this purpose, two different sizes of auxetic dowels were chosen, one for frame- and the other for panel-type furniture joints for designing the cross-sectional geometry. Auxetic patterns that are created on the cross-sectional area cause deficiency of the materials, and this phenomenon decreases the modulus of elasticity (MOE) and increases the member stress. Accordingly, maximum MOE values and minimum Poisson's ratio levels were determined for the optimum strength-auxetic behavior relation by means of a Monte Carlo method. Furthermore, Poisson's ratio of the optimized dowel's cross-section was confirmed with experimental tests, numerical analyses and analytical calculations. As a result, Poisson's ratio values were obtained as negative values and confirmed, which means the dowels designed in this study had auxetic behavior. In conclusion, it could be said that studies should be conducted on the performance of auxetic dowels in both frame and panel furniture joints.

Abstract Aims: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the reliability and quality of the information about gingival enlargements on YouTube and TikTok.
Methods: Two popular video sites, YouTube and TikTok, were searched for gingival enlargement and gingival hyperplasia. The reliability and quality of the first 300 videos for each search term, which is 1200 videos in total, were evaluated by social media video content evaluation tools: Global Quality Score (GQS) for quality and modified DISCERN for reliability.
Results: Health professionals uploaded 68.6% of the videos on YouTube and 54.5% on TikTok. It was observed that 50% of TikTok videos and 65.9% of YouTube videos were educational. In terms of quality, 2.7% of the videos on YouTube are of excellent quality, while in TikTok there are no videos of perfect quality. TikTok videos had considerably more views, likes, viewing rates, and interaction index scores than YouTube videos (P < 0.01).
Conclusions: The videos and pieces of information on YouTube are more reliable and accurate in terms of gingival enlargement when compared to TikTok. Nevertheless, it was discovered that videos on both platforms were of poor reliability and quality in general.

Abstract Purpose: Analysis of foveal avascular zone (FAZ) width and vascular density (VD) changes before and after intravitreal dexamethasone implant (IDI) treatment in diabetic macular edema (DME) patients resistant to anti-VEGF treatment.
Methods: In this retrospective study, patients who were regularly treated with at least 5 doses of intravitreal Anti-VEGF (bevacizumab, ranibizumab or aflibercept) for DME and whose DME continued were considered resistant to Anti-VEGF and were treated with IDI for the first time. Thirty-four eyes of 34 patients were included in the study. FAZ and VD values of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) scans at 0, 1 and 3 months were examined.
Results: In OCT-A measurements, the pre-IDI superficial plexus FAZ (SFAZ) area (0.350 ± 0.120 mm
Conclusion: The study showed that IDI caused a significant decrease in the FAZ area without any change in VD in patients with DME resistant to the anti-VEGF agents. IDI might be related to a decrease in the macular ischemia secondary to diabetic retinopathy.

Abstract Aim: Environmental asbestos exposure and asbestos related diseases are common in Siverek. We aimed to investigate, whether environmental asbestos exposure ongoing in Siverek or not, used for which purposes if this still in usage and the manner of supplying in this study. Material and Method: A questionnaire was made for this study between March 2012-April 2012 in the districts that are asbestos usage is known in Siverek. Results: Rates of asbestos usage history were for plastering walls 2.3% (n:6), molasses making 22.7% (n:59) in Siverek. The data of this study has revealed that asbestos exposure still continues decreased significantly with the in Siverek. Discussion: For this reason planning and implementation of training activities about the harms of asbestos is required for community awareness especially in rural areas.

Abstract Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) is a noninvasive procedure that provides diagnostic and prognostic information and evaluates an individual’s capacity for dynamic exercise. CPET is an investigation of the respiratory, cardiovascular and cellular response to the exercise that can be done under controlled metabolic conditions. It provides assessment of the integrative exercise responses involving not only the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems but also skeletal muscle system, which are not adequately reflected through the measurement of individual organ system function. Furthermore, it is being performed increasingly in a wide spectrum of clinical applications for evaluation of undiagnosed exercise intolerance or for objective determination of functional capacity. CPET with extensive hardware and educated staffs can be used for the diagnosis of different types of clinical problems. Additionally, the increasing number of applications for which CPET is currently employed, attests to the growing recognition of its importance in medicine. J Clin Exp Invest 2014; 5 (3): 503-509

Abstract Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate changes in dynamic hyperinflation in response to exercise in patients with COPD and healthy individuals. Methods: In this study, resting in the spirometric measurements, exercise capacity of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) compared with healthy individuals. Exercise capacity of COPD patients and healthy controls were performed and were compared in terms of dynamic hyperinflation. Results: Patients with stable COPD (n=19) and healthy controls (n=13) were included. Subjects performed pulmonary function tests and an incremental exercise test on cycle ergometry (Inspiratory capacity (IC), end expiratory lung volume (EELV)). Statistically significant differences (p<0.05) were found regarding exercise test parameters including exercise duration, maximum oxygen uptake, breathing reserve, maximum minute ventilation, and breathing pattern between groups. There was significant increase in EELV (p<0.05) and decrease in IC (p<0.05) at maximum exercise when hyperinflation parameters were compared at baseline and maximum exercise. Conclusion: Hyperinflation was evident at maximal exercise, although there were no hyperinflation findings at rest in subjects with COPD. It was concluded that it is better to evaluate hyperinflation at maximal exercise than at rest in patients with COPD. J Clin Exp Invest 2014; 5 (3): 424-428

Abstract A 56-year old man applied to otorhinolaryngology clinic with sore throat, dysphagia. During direct examination, left palatine tonsil and tonsil plicas ulcerovegetative lesions were found. In the indirect laryngoscopy, in some regions of the larynx and epiglottis, ulcerovegetative lesions were observed too. Because of suspicion of laryngeal carcinoma and metastasis, punch biopsy of the left palatine tonsil was performed. Chest x-ray and computerized tomography of the thorax revealed two adjacent cavitations in the apicoposterior segment of the left upper lobe. In the histopathologic examination of biopsies, granulomatous structures that proved tuberculosis were observed. In the fiberoptic bronchoscopic analysis, endobronchial lesion was not detected. Acid-fast bacilli were determined in sputum and bronchial lavage in microscopy and culture. The case of this middle aged male patient with co-existence of tonsillar, laryngeal and pulmonary tuberculosis presents the clinical significance of upper airway tuberculosis in terms of its infectiousness and rare occurrence.
