Abstract The development of highly effective catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in a wide pH range is crucial for the sustainable utilization of green energy utilization, while the slow kinetic reaction rate severely hinders the progress of HER. Herein, the reaction kinetic issue is solved by adjusting the electronic structure of the Ru/Pd

Abstract Objective: Minority stressors are associated with increased psychological distress, and social support is considered as a significant protective factor to mitigate the psychological distress in LGB individuals. In China, LGB individuals suffer additional pressure from society and family, but only a few studies have explored the effect of social support on the psychological distress of Chinese LGB individuals and the mechanism underlying the association. The current study aimed to examine the mediating role of self-esteem in the relationship between three sources of social support (from family, friends, and others) and psychological distress in Chinese LGB individuals.
    Methods: 227 LGB individuals (
Results: Results indicated that 31.3% of LGB individuals had a high level of psychological distress. The results showed that social support from family, friends, and others was associated with higher levels of self-esteem and lower levels of psychological distress. Only the mediating effect of self-esteem was found between friend support and psychological distress.
Conclusions: This study demonstrated that friend support might be a protective factor against psychological distress in Chinese LGB individuals, and more friend support could potentially relieve psychological distress by building higher self-esteem. These results highlight the importance of fostering friend support in the group of Chinese LGB individuals.

Abstract Introduction: Memory T (Tm) cells are a subpopulation of immune cells with great heterogeneity. Part of this diversity came from T cells that were primed with different viruses. Understanding the differences among different viral-specific Tms will help develop new therapeutic strategies for viral infections.
Methods: In this study, we compared the transcriptome of Tm cells that primed with CMV, EBV and SARS-CoV-2 with single-cell sequencing and studied the similarities and differences in terms of subpopulation composition, activation, metabolism and transcriptional regulation.
Results: We found that CMV is marked by plentiful cytotoxic Temra cells, while EBV is more abundant in functional Tem cells. More importantly, we found that CD28 and CTLA4 can be used as continuous indicators to interrogate the antiviral ability of T cells. Furthermore, we proposed that REL is a main regulatory factor for CMV-specific T cells producing cytokines and plays an antiviral role.
Discussion: Our data gives deep insight into molecular characteristics of Tm subsets from different viral infection, which is important to understand T cell immunization. Furthermore, our results provide basic background knowledges for T cell based vaccine development in future.

Abstract Development of microalgal-bacterial granular sludge (MBGS) from saline-adapted microalgae is a promising approach for efficient mariculture wastewater treatment, whereas the elusive mechanisms governing granulation have impeded its widespread adoption. In this study, spherical and regular MBGS were successfully developed from mixed culture of pure Spirulina platensis and Chlorella sp. GY-H4 at 10 mg/L Fe

Abstract Background and purpose: With the improved life expectancy of people living with HIV (PLWH) due to widespread use of antiretroviral therapy (ART), there is a greater emphasis on enhancing long-term well-being and overall quality of life for PLWH. Understanding interpersonal personalities of PLWH can gain further insight into how to improve the overall quality of life in this population. The International Personality Item Pool-Interpersonal Circumplex (IPIP-IPC) scale has been developed to assess interpersonal personalities of individuals, and this scale has been translated into Chinese. However, the Chinese version of IPIP-IPC has not been tested among PLWH in China. In this study, we aimed to test the psychometric properties and circumplex structure of this scale.
Methods: This study was based on cross-sectional, multi-center, large sample data. We employed the Chinese version of IPIP-IPC scale on 3040 PLWH from April 2022 to April 2023 in China to test its psychometric as well as circumplex properties. The structural summary method (SSM) was employed to analyze the circumplex structure of the scale.
Results: The total scale exhibited a Cronbach's alpha of 0.85 and McDonald's omega of 0.91. Out of the 288 possible relationships, 275 relationships satisfy the circular properties hypothesis. The scale demonstrates good reliability and validity, meeting the requirements of psychometrics.
Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate that the Chinese version of the IPIP-IPC scale is a reliable tool for evaluating interpersonal personalities in this population. These results highlight the validity and applicability of the IPIP-IPC scale specifically in the Chinese context, providing valuable insights into the intricacies of interpersonal traits among PLWH.
