Abstract Coronaviruses, which were generally considered harmless to humans before 2003, have appeared again with a pandemic threatening the world since December 2019 after the epidemics of SARS and MERS. It is known that transmission from person to person is the most important way to spread. However, due to the widespread host diversity, a detailed examination of the role of animals in this pandemic is essential to effectively fight against the outbreak. Although coronavirus infections in pets are known to be predominantly related to the gastrointestinal tract, it has been observed that there are human-to-animal transmissions in this outbreak and some animals have similar symptoms to humans. Although animal-to-animal transmission has been shown to be possible, there is no evidence of animal-to-human transmission.

Abstract Purpose: Our aim was to investigate the predictive value of Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score and Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI) for systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS)/sepsis after percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL).
Methods: Demographic and clinical data of 422 patients who underwent PNL were evaluated. The CONUT score was calculated from lymphocyte count, serum albumin, and cholesterol, while the PNI was calculated using lymphocyte count and serum albumin. Spearman's correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the relationship between nutritional scores and systemic inflammation markers. Logistic regression analysis was performed to determine the risk factors for SIRS/sepsis development after PNL.
Results: Patients with SIRS/sepsis had a significantly higher preoperative CONUT score and lower PNI compared with the SIRS/sepsis (-) group. A positive significant correlation between CONUT score and CRP (rho = 0.75), CONUT score and procalcitonin (rho = 0.36), and CONUT score and WBC (rho = 0.23) were determined. Additionally, a negative significant correlation was shown between PNI and procalcitonin (rho = - 0.30) and PNI and CRP (rho = - 0.64). The ROC curve analysis showed that the cut-off values for the CONUT score and PNI were 4 (AUC = 0.827) and 42 (AUC = 0.734), respectively. Age, stone size, history of pyelonephritis, residual stone, presence of infection stone, CONUT score ≥ 4, and PNI ≤ 42 were found to be independent predictors for postoperative SIRS/sepsis in multivariate analysis.
Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that preoperative CONUT score and PNI are potential predictive factors for SIRS/sepsis development after PNL. Therefore, patients with CONUT score ≥ 4 and PNI ≤ 42 are suggested to be closely monitoring due to the risk of post-PNL SIRS/sepsis.

Abstract Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between Alpha-methylacyl-CoA racemase (AMACR) staining intensity of pathologic specimens and Prostate Spesific Antigen (PSA) recurrence of patients with an organ-limited disease who underwent radical prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer.Materials and Methods:The data of 46 patients who underwent radical retropubic prostatectomy and who had prostate-limited disease without capsule invasion in the pathological evaluation were included in the study. AMACR expression was assessed by immunohistochemical staining. Expression levels were classified as negative (score=0), weak (score=1), moderate (score=2) and strong (score=3) staining. Patients with a PSA value of ≥0.2 ng/mL at postoperative follow-up were considered to have a biochemical recurrence. Patients were divided into two groups, according to biochemical recurrence. Groups were compared in terms of AMACR staining intensities of radical prostatectomy specimens.Results:Twenty-one patients developed PSA recurrence in a mean follow-up period of 32±8 months. The remaining 25 patients were recurrence-free. The mean recurrence time was 24±5 months. According to AMACR staining scores, the biochemical recurrence rates of the patients were 33.3%, 40.7%, and 61.5% for score 1, score 2, and score 3, respectively. Although higher rates of PSA recurrence were observed in patients with more intense AMACR staining, the difference between rates was not statistically significant (p=0.38).Conclusion:PSA recurrence rate increases with increasing AMAC-CR staining intensity. Further studies are needed to obtain statistically significant results.

Abstract Introduction and hypothesis: Our aim was to determine the efficacy of intravesical chondroitin sulfate (CS) and combined hyaluronic acid/chondroitin sufate (HA/CS) treatment and their effects on sexual function of females with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS).
Methods: A total of 68 female patients with IC/BPS between 2012 and 2018 were reviewed. Thirty-three patients were treated with combined HA/CS and 28 patients were treated with CS. Instillations were performed weekly for the first month, biweekly for the second month, and monthly in the third and fourth months. Before and after the sixth month of the treatment, all patients were evaluated with the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), visual analog pain scale (VAS), interstitial cystitis symptom index (ICSI), interstitial cystitis problem index (ICPI), and voiding diary, and changes were recorded.
Results: A statistically significant improvement was determined for FSFI, VAS, ICSI, and ICPI scores after treatment in both groups. Among baseline characteristics, a weak but significant negative correlation was determined only between the ICSI score improvement and age (rho: -0.38; p = 0.03) on statistical analysis. Compared with CS, combined HA/CS treatment was superior in terms of ICSI, ICPI, and daytime and nighttime frequency improvement (0.042, 0.038, 0.039, and 0.045; respectively). All domains of the sexual function index were significantly improved at the sixth month of intravesical therapy in both groups. A statistical difference was not found between the two groups.
Conclusions: Although it seems that intravesical HA/CS combination is superior to CS alone in terms of symptom reduction, both of them have beneficial effects on sexual function.

Abstract Aim: The aim of our study was to assess the predictive value of controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score for the prognosis of prostate cancer.
Methods: A total of 257 patients' characteristics, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) values, biopsy, and pathological specimen features were all recorded. The CONUT score was calculated for each patient from three blood parameters: total lymphocyte count (TLC), serum albumin, and cholesterol concentrations. Spearman's correlation coefficient was used to assess the correlation between the total CONUT score and the variables including age, body mass index, prostate volume, PSA, biopsy and pathological specimen features, and PSA-recurrence free survival (PSA-RFS) time. The Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test were used for PSA-RFS analysis. Regression analyses were performed to assess the association between clinicopathological factors, the International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) upgrading, and biochemical recurrence (BCR).
Results: Statistically significant differences were determined in pathologic ISUP grade, and total tumor volume between low and high CONUT score groups. Additionally, the high CONUT score group had a significantly higher BCR rate and lower PSA-RFS when compared with the low CONUT score group. A strong positive correlation between total CONUT score and pathologic ISUP grade and a moderate negative correlation between total CONUT score and PSA-RFS was determined. In multivariate analysis, a total CONUT score ≥2 had a statistically significant association with ISUP upgrading (odds ratio [OR] = 3.05) and BCR (3.52).
Conclusion: Preoperative CONUT score is an independent predictive factor for ISUP score upgrading and BCR in patients who undergo radical prostatectomy.

Abstract Purpose: Our aim was to assess the educational quality of the YouTube video content related to laparoscopic and robotic radical prostatectomy (RP).
Methods: An objective scoring tool named as Prostatectomy Assessment and Competency Evaluation (PACE) score was used to measure and quantify seven critical steps in RP including bladder drop, preparation of the prostate, bladder neck dissection, posterior/seminal vesicle dissection, neurovascular bundle preservation, apical dissection, and urethro-vesical anastomosis. A five-point scale was used for grading the seven steps, where a score of 1 and 5 represented the lowest and ideal performance, respectively. Additionally, descriptive statistics including the upload time, video length, view count, number of comments, likes, and dislikes were all recorded.
Results: Of the 1688 videos (551 from laparoscopic RP, 567 from robotic RP, and 570 from robot-assisted RP), 226 videos were analyzed after excluding duplicate and irrelevant videos. Robotic/robot-assisted RP videos were found to be statistically longer than laparoscopic RP videos (p = 0.016). The PACE score of urethro-vesical anastomosis step in robotic RP videos was statistically higher than laparoscopic RP videos (p = 0.021). A weak but significant positive correlation between the video length and total PACE score (rho: 0.51; p = 0.04 for laparoscopic RP and rho: 0.43; p = 0.03 for robotic/robot-assisted RP) was found. A weak but positive correlation was also determined between number of likes and total PACE score (rho: 0.39; p = 0.02) for robotic/robot-assisted RP videos.
Conclusions: Although YouTube website includes high-quality videos for both laparoscopic and robotic/robot-assisted RP, there is no objective parameter to predict the educational quality of the videos.

Abstract Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship of seminal parameters with the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), which are inflammatory markers, in men with an abnormal semen analysis and men with normozoospermia.
Materials and methods: Fifty-seven men with abnormal semen analyses and 59 men with normozoospermia were included in this cross-sectional study. A complete blood count was recorded, and the NLR and PLR were calculated from the hematologic parameters.
Results: The NLR was 1.84±0.78 in the normozoospermic group and 1.80±0.75 in the abnormal semen analysis group. The PLR was 95.32±35.47 in the normozoospermic group and 93.57±28.09 in the abnormal semen analysis group. No significant differences were found between the normozoospermic and the abnormal semen analysis group in the NLR (p=0.828) or the PLR (p=0.768). In addition, no seminal parameters were correlated with the NLR or the PLR (p>0.05).
Conclusions: We do not recommend using the NLR or the PLR as markers to screen for abnormal semen parameters or male infertility.

Abstract Background/aim: Although it has been shown that the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) may predict the progression of nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), its association with the recurrence of NMIBC has been poorly studied. The aim of this study is to evaluate the association between NLR and disease recurrence in patients with NMIBC.
Materials and methods: The medical records of 428 consecutive initially diagnosed NMIBC patients who underwent transurethral resection between January 2010 and July 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients without a preoperative NLR (n = 6), without a minimum of 6 months of follow-up (n = 56), who were lost to follow-up (n = 38), or who had progressive disease during follow-up (n = 42) were excluded. The demographics, tumor characteristics, and NLRs of patients with and without tumor recurrence were compared.
Results: Of 286 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 68 (17.43%) had recurrent disease. Tumor size (P = 0.198), tumor type (P = 0.929), and the presence of carcinoma in situ (P = 0.373) were also similar between groups. Patients with recurrent disease had a higher mean NLR (2.62 ± 0.99 vs. 2.2 ± 0.96, P = 0.002).
Conclusion: Our results show that NLR may be used as a predictor of recurrence in patients with NMIBC; however, prospective studies are required to validate these findings.

Abstract Although premature ejaculation (PE) is a common male sexual dysfunction, its pathophysiology has not been fully elucidated. Several medical problems such as erectile dysfunction, depression, anxiety, hormonal disorders and chronic prostatitis may play a role in the etiology of acquired PE. This study aims to evaluate the frequency of these etiologic factors among patients with acquired PE. Between May and July 2016, 53 men with acquired PE were included in the study. Self-estimated intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) of these patients was recorded along with their medical history and physical examination findings. Moreover, 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5), premature ejaculation profile (PEP), anxiety and depression scales (STAI-1, STAI-2, and BECK), and chronic prostatitis symptom index (NIH-CPSI) were administered. Fasting plasma glucose, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), prolactin, total and free testosterone, total prostate specific antigen, thyroid and thyroid stimulating hormone levels were measured. Urine analysis and 2 cup tests were also studied. Mean age of the patients was 42.41 ± 11.14 (22-60). Mean duration of the PE complaint was 34.18 ± 36.76 (3-144) months. Mean IELT time of the patients was 38.28 ± 30.79 (3-180) s. Of the patients; 69.81%, 62.26%, 56.60%, 45.28%, 30.19%, 24.53%, 16.98%, 15.09%, and 7.55% had depression, chronic prostatitis, erectile dysfunction, anxiety, diabetes mellitus, abnormal FSH or LH, hypoprolactinemia, hyperthyroidism, and high testosterone levels, respectively. The results of our study revealed that anxiety disorders, depression, erectile dysfunction, and chronic prostatitis are common among patients with acquired PE and may play role in the etiology of this problem. There is a need for further researches related to the exact pathophysiology of acquired PE with larger number of patients.
