Results: The prevalence of schistosome infection in residents in the pilot villages decreased from 3.44% in 2006 to 0 in 2016. The annual costs of schistosomiasis prevention and control were 4 708 500 yuan from 2006 to 2008, 5 094 700 yuan from 2009 to 2012 and 9 522 700 yuan from 2013 to 2016. The cost-effectiveness analysis showed that the average annual cost of reduction in the residents'infection rate by 1% were 79 500 yuan from 2006 to 2008, 101 200 yuan from 2009 to 2012, and 95 200 yuan from 2013 to 2016, respectively.
Conclusions: The comprehensive schistosomiasis control strategy with focus on cattle and sheep removal in Junshan District is cost effective which could be extended to other lake and marshland schistosomiasis endemic areas.

Abstract Purpose: To compare anterior capsule contraction (ACC) after cataract surgery with implantation of intraocular lens (IOLs) of different materials and designs.
Methods: We searched three electronic databases for relevant studies published up to January 1, 2023. Five randomized controlled trails (RCTs) and three cohort studies involving 1,221 eyes were included in quantitative synthesis. We extracted data, assessed their quality independently, and calculated standard mean difference (SMD) using a random-effects model. Six RCTs and one retrospective cohort were included in information summary.
Results: The contraction of the anterior capsule opening area in the hydrophilic group was larger than that of the hydrophobic group from one month to one year postoperatively (P < 0.001 and P < 0.001, respectively). Specifically, the hydrophilic group showed greater contraction of the anterior capsule opening area at one month postoperatively (Standardized mean difference [SMD] = -0.73, 95% confidence interval [CI] = -0.93 to -0.52), three months (SMD = -1.04, 95% CI = -1.32 to -0.75), six months (SMD = -0.99, 95% CI = -1.24 to -0.74) and one year (SMD = -1.33, 95% CI = -2.50 to -0.16). As of one year postoperatively, the anterior capsular opening area showed a trend of decreasing over time in both groups (P = 0.046 and P = 0.050, respectively). In information summary, three studies indicated no relationship between haptic design and ACC, while the other four studies reported that the number and shape of haptic would affect ACC.
Conclusion: This meta-analysis suggested that the postoperative ACC after the implantation of hydrophobic IOLs was less than that induced by hydrophilic IOLs. Haptic design may also affect the degree of ACC.

Abstract In this paper, we present a multi-agent based optimal event-triggered distributed cooperative fault detection scheme. First, for each agent, the event-triggered mechanism is used to determine whether the current measurements are transmitted to the corresponding neighbor agents, addressing the design of the cooperative estimator. Then, considering the effects of external bounded disturbances and additional faults as well as transmission errors caused by event triggering, a residual generator is proposed, which achieves the optimal tradeoff between robustness to external bounded disturbances and faults sensitivity. Meanwhile, by taking into account the effects of external disturbances and information loss caused by event triggering on the residual, a residual evaluator is designed to provide the corresponding time-varying threshold. Finally, an illustrative example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Abstract Background: Presbyopia has become a global disease affecting the world's aging population. Among various treatments, cataract extraction and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation have become the most popular and common methods of presbyopia correction. During the twentieth century, IOLs have underwent significant innovation and advancements to meet the patients' high demands for functional vision at all distances.
Main text: To meet the increasing needs for excellent near and intermediate vision for daily activities, some premium IOLs with more than one focus have been developed, for example, the refractive MfIOLs, diffractive MfIOLs, extended depth of field (EDOF) IOLs, and accommodating IOLs (AIOLs) were introduced to meet this need. In addition, the add-on MfIOLs have been explored as promising supplementary IOLs for pseudophakic presbyopia. When selecting the MfIOLs, the IOLs' features, patients' characteristics, preoperative eye conditions, and treatment expectations should be considered.
Conclusions: In this review, we focus on the multifocal IOLs (MfIOLs) commonly used for presbyopia correction and systematically summarized their optical designs and clinical outcomes. More evidence-based studies are required to provide guidelines for MfIOL selection, provide maximum visual benefits, and develop personalized visual solutions in the future.

Abstract In this study, the manganese-doped manganese–cobalt–iron spinel was prepared by the sol–gel self-combustion method, and its physical and chemical properties were analyzed by XRD (X-ray diffraction analysis), SEM (scanning electron microscope), and VSM (vibrating sample magnetometer). The mercury removal performance of simulated flue gas was tested on a fixed bed experimental device, and the effects of Mn doping amount, fuel addition amount, reaction temperature, and flue gas composition on its mercury removal capacity were studied. The results showed that the best synthesized product was when the doping amount of Mn was the molar ratio of 0.5, and the average mercury removal efficiency was 87.5% within 120 min. Among the fuel rich, stoichiometric ratio, and fuel lean systems, the stoichiometric ratio system is most conductive to product synthesis, and the mercury removal performance of the obtained product was the best. Moreover, the removal ability of Hg 0 was enhanced with the increase in temperature in the test temperature range, and both physical and chemical adsorption play key roles in the spinel adsorption of Hg 0 in the medium temperature range. The addition of O 2 can promote the removal of Hg 0 by adsorbent, but the continuous increase after the volume fraction reached 10% had little effect on the removal efficiency of Hg 0 . While SO 2 inhibited the removal of mercury by adsorbent, the higher the volume fraction, the more obvious the inhibition. In addition, in an oxygen-free environment, the addition of a small amount of HCl can promote the removal of mercury by adsorbent, but the addition of more HCl does not have a better promotion effect. Compared with other reported adsorbents, the adsorbent has better mercury removal performance and magnetic properties, and has a strong recycling performance. The removal efficiency of mercury can always be maintained above 85% in five cycles.

Abstract Diffraction beams produced by an acousto-optic modulator are widely used in various optical experiments, some of which need to modulate the radio-frequency drive signal to change the diffraction beams from continuous light to pulsed light. The generation of such pulsed light is open-loop, and long-term stability of the power is disregarded. In this paper, we introduce a method to suppress the pulsed light power drift of a semiconductor laser. By using the servo system, the low frequency power drift of 1-60 kHz pulsed light can be suppressed. This pulsed light power stabilization method can be applied to optical rotation detection and pulse pumping.
