    Abstract The $J/\psi \to \Xi^0 \bar{\Xi}^{0}$ process and subsequent decays are investigated using $(10087 \pm 44)\times 10^6$ $J/\psi$ events collected at the BESIII experiment. The decay parameters of $\Xi^0$ and $\bar{\Xi}^0$ are measured with greatly improved precision over previous measurements to be $\alpha_{\Xi} = -0.3750 \pm 0.0034 \pm 0.0016$, $\bar{\alpha}_{\Xi} = 0.3790 \pm 0.0034 \pm 0.0021$, $\phi_{\Xi} = 0.0051 \pm 0.0096 \pm 0.0018$~rad, $\bar{\phi}_{\Xi} = -0.0053 \pm 0.0097 \pm 0.0019$~rad, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. From these measurements, precise $CP$ symmetry tests in $\Xi^0$ decay are performed, and $A^{\Xi}_{CP} = (-5.4 \pm 6.5 \pm 3.1) \times 10^{-3}$ and $\Delta\phi^{\Xi}_{CP} = (-0.1 \pm 6.9 \pm 0.9) \times 10^{-3}$~rad are consistent with $CP$ conservation. The sequential decay also enables a separation of weak and strong phase differences, which are found for the first time to be $\xi_{P}-\xi_{S} = (0.0 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.2) \times 10^{-2}$~rad and $\delta_{P}-\delta_{S} = (-1.3 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.4)\times 10^{-2}$~rad, respectively. In addition, we measure the $\Lambda$ decay parameters and test $CP$ symmetry in $\Lambda$ decays.

Abstract The cultural and entertainment industry (CEI) actively promotes the economy. Xi’an is a comprehensive pilot city of China’s cultural system reform. The characteristics of the staged changes and regional differentiation of the interaction between the CEI and urban development from 2000 to 2020 were studied by selecting seven districts in Xi’an. We used an expansion intensity index, equal-fan analysis, and coordination model. This analysis revealed the mechanism of the interaction between the CEI and urban development. We found that both the CEI and urban development mainly expand to northeast and southwest, while the expansion synchronicity of the CEI and urban development differs in various directions. The coordination between the CEI and urban development shows a pronounced “center-edge” feature. In other words, the closer to the city center, the stronger the coordination between them. The city guides the layout of the CEI through the agglomeration of elements. Meanwhile, the CEI promotes the reconstruction of urban space in turn, through its production. The study’s findings may enrich the theory of coordinated development of the CEI and urban development. Furthermore, it provides a scientific basis for formulating the layout and development patterns of the CEI in Xi’an and other developing cities worldwide.

Abstract The $\Xi^0$ asymmetry parameters are measured using entangled quantum $\Xi^0$-$\bar{\Xi}^0$ pairs from a sample of $(448.1 \pm 2.9) \times 10^6$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The relative phase between the transition amplitudes of the $\Xi^0 \bar{\Xi}^0$ helicity states is measured to be $\Delta \Phi = -0.050 \pm 0.150 \pm 0.020$~rad, which implies that there is no obvious polarization at the current level of statistics. The decay parameters of the $\Xi^0$ hyperon $(\alpha_{\Xi^0}, \alpha_{\bar{\Xi}^0}, \phi_{\Xi^0}, \phi_{\bar{\Xi}^0})$ and the angular distribution parameter $(\alpha_{\psi(3686)})$ and $\Delta \Phi$ are measured simultaneously for the first time. In addition, the $CP$ asymmetry observables are determined to be $A^{\Xi^0}_{CP} = (\alpha_{\Xi^0} + \alpha_{\bar{\Xi}^0})/(\alpha_{\Xi^0} - \alpha_{\bar{\Xi}^0})$ $= -0.007$ $\pm$ 0.082 $\pm$ 0.025 and $\Delta \phi^{\Xi^0}_{CP} = (\phi_{\Xi^0} + \phi_{\bar{\Xi}^0})/2$ $= -0.079$ $\pm$ 0.082 $\pm$ 0.010 rad, which are consistent with $CP$ conservation.

Abstract Background: The model for end-stage liver disease excluding international normalized ratio (MELD-XI) is a simple score for risk assessment. However, the prognostic role of MELD-XI and its additional value to current risk assessment in elderly patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is uncertain.
Methods: In all, 1029 elderly patients with STEMI undergoing PCI were consecutively included and classified into three groups according to the TIMI risk score: low-risk (≤ 3, n = 251); moderate-risk (4-6, n = 509); and high-risk (≥ 7, n = 269) groups. Multivariate analysis was performed to identify risk factors for adverse events.
Results: The overall in-hospital mortality was 5.3% and was significantly higher in the high-risk group (1.2% vs. 3.3% vs. 13.0%, p < 0.001). The optimal cut-off of the TIMI risk score and MELD-XI for in-hospital death was 7 and 13, respectively. MELD-XI was associated with in-hospital (adjusted odds ratio = 1.09, 95% CI = 1.04-1.14, p = 0.001) and one-year (adjusted hazard ratio = 1.05, 95% CI = 1.01-1.08, p = 0.005) mortality independently of the TIMI risk score. Combining TIMI risk score and MELD-XI exhibited better predictive power for in-hospital death than TIMI risk score (area under the curve [AUC] = 0.810 vs. 0.753, p = 0.008) or MELD-XI alone (AUC = 0.810 vs. 0.750, p = 0.018). Patients with TIMI risk score ≥ 7 and MELD-XI ≥ 13 had the worst prognosis.
Conclusion: MELD-XI could be considered as a risk-stratified tool for elderly patients with STEMI undergoing PCI. It had an additive prognostic value to TIMI risk score.

Abstract: ... unclear whether coagulation factors X (FX) and XI (FXI) levels are associated with cardiovascular diseases ...

Abstract Background: Coagulation cascade contributes to thrombotic and hemorrhagic diseases, but it remains unclear whether coagulation factors X (FX) and XI (FXI) levels are associated with cardiovascular diseases.
Objective: To evaluate prospective associations of FX and FXI levels with incident acute coronary syndrome (ACS), stroke, and their subtypes (acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, ischemic stroke, and hemorrhagic stroke).
Methods: We performed a nested case-control study (n = 1846) within the Dongfeng-Tongji cohort from 2013 to 2016 matched on age (within 1 year), sex, and sampling date (within 1 month) by incidence density sampling, and measured plasma FX and FXI levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. FX and FXI levels were categorized into three groups (low, <25th; middle, 25th to <75th; and high ≥75th percentiles) according to distributions, and conditional logistic regression models were used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
Results: After adjustment for traditional cardiovascular risk factors, compared with middle groups, the OR (95% CI) in high levels of FX and FXI were 1.11 (0.79-1.56) and 0.96 (0.68-1.36) for incident ACS, and 1.01 (0.63-1.62) and 1.72 (1.14-2.60) for incident stroke, respectively. As for subtypes of ACS and stroke, only high FXI levels were significantly associated with incident ischemic stroke (OR 1.66, 95% CI 1.05-2.65). Moreover, all associations remained steady after additional adjustment for platelet and leukocyte.
Conclusion: FXI levels were associated with a greater risk of incident ischemic stroke but not hemorrhagic stroke or ACS. FX levels were not associated with incident ACS or stroke.

Abstract Objective: In order to clarify the interaction mechanism, the phenotype and abnormal gene loci of FXI, FXII, and PS were investigated in this study.
Methods: Chinese pedigree with hereditary combined deficiency of coagulation factor (F) XI, FXII, and PS was enrolled in our study. Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), partial thromboplastin time (PT), FXI:C, FXII:C, and protein S (PS):C were determined using the one-stage coagulation method. FXI:antigen (Ag), FXII:Ag, and PS:Ag were detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Exons and introns of the FXI, FXII, and PS genes were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and gene sequencing results were analyzed using Chromas software.
Results: A deletion of two bases located in introns A-149 and-150 within the FXI gene of the proband, his father, wife, and both sons. A missense variant in exon 14 (GGT → AGT, Gly542Ser) within FXII of the proband, his parents, and both sons. Four variants in exon 4 within the PS gene of all members of the pedigree: GTT → GTG (Val46Val), CGC → CTC (Arg49Leu), CGT → CAT (Arg60His), and CAG → TAG (Gln61stop).
Conclusions: None of the pedigree members showed a tendency for bleeding or thrombosis. Therefore, we speculated that the lack of coagulation factors counteracted the lack of PS, restoring the balance between the coagulation and anticoagulation systems. Another possible explanation is that these defects individually have only partial penetrance.

Abstract Background: This study was aimed to investigate the incidence and outcomes of patients with postoperative hepatic dysfunction (PHD) after total arch repair of acute type A aortic dissection, and further explore the risk factors for severe adverse outcomes.
Methods: The clinical data of 227 patients with AAAD treated by modified triple-branched stent graft implantation from January 2020 to January 2021 were collected retrospectively. Including preoperative, surgical and postoperative data. Logistics regression was used to determine the independent risk factors of severe adverse outcomes in postoperative HD patients.
Results: In the early stage after operation, a total of 153 patients were complicated with PHD, accounting for 67.4%. The incidence of severe adverse outcomes in patients with PHD was 43.1%. We found that preoperative moderate/severe pericardial effusion [odds ratio (OR): 11.645, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.144, 143.617, P = 0.045], preoperative imaging data suggest the celiac trunk involvement [OR: 6.136, 95% CI 1.019, 36.930, P = 0.048], CPB time > 180 min [OR: 4.855, 95% CI 1.218, 15.761, P = 0.034], decreased early postoperative serum albumin [OR: 0.935, 95% CI 0.856, 0.985, P = 0.026] were independent risk factors for severe adverse outcomes in patients with PHD.
Conclusions: PHD was associated with increased early mortality and morbidity. Preoperative moderate/severe pericardial effusion, preoperative celiac trunk involvement, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) time > 180 min and decreased early postoperative serum albumin were identified as independent risk factors for severe adverse outcomes in patients with PHD.

Abstract The suitability of the model for end-stage liver disease excluding international normalized ratio (MELD-XI) score to predict adverse outcomes in infective endocarditis (IE) patients remains uncertain. This study was performed to explore the prognostic value of the MELD-XI score and modified MELD-XI score for patients with IE. A total of 858 patients with IE were consecutively enrolled and classified into two groups: MELD-XI ≤ 10 (n = 588) and MELD-XI > 10 (n = 270). Multivariate analysis was performed to determine risk factors independent of MELD-XI score. Higher MELD-XI score was associated with higher in-hospital mortality (15.6 vs. 4.8%, p < 0.001) and major adverse clinical events (33.3 vs. 18.4%, p < 0.001). MELD-XI score was an independent predictor of in-hospital death (odds ratio [OR] = 1.06, 95% CI, 1.02-1.10, p = 0.005). Based on a multivariate analysis, NYHA class III or IV (3 points), C-reactive protein > 9.5 mg/L (4 points), and non-surgical treatment (6 points) were added to MELD-XI score. Modified MELD-XI score produced higher predictive power than previous (AUC 0.823 vs. 0.701, p < 0.001). The cumulative incidence of long-term mortality (median 29 months) was significantly higher in patients with modified MELD-XI score > 13 than those without (log-rank = 25.30, p < 0.001). Modified MELD-XI score was independently associated with long-term mortality (hazard ratio = 1.08, 95% CI, 1.04-1.12, p < 0.001). MELD-XI score could be used as a risk assessment tool in IE. Furthermore, modified MELD-XI score remained simple and more effective in predicting poor prognosis.

Abstract Type XI collagen has been associated with tumor fibrosis and aggressiveness in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The propeptide on Type XI collagen is released into the circulation after proteolytic processing at either amino acid 253 or 511. This allows for a noninvasive biomarker approach to quantify Type XI collagen production. We developed two ELISA-based biomarkers, targeting the two enzymatic cleavage sites (PRO-C11-253 and PRO-C11-511). In a discovery cohort including serum from patients with PDAC (n = 39, Stages 1-4), chronic pancreatitis (CP, n = 12) and healthy controls (n = 20), PRO-C11-511, but not PRO-C11-253, was significantly upregulated in patients with PDAC and CP compared to healthy controls. Furthermore, PRO-C11-511 levels >75th percentile were associated with poor overall survival (OS) (HR, 95% CI: 3.40, 1.48-7.83). The PRO-C11-511 biomarker potential was validated in serum from 686 patients with PDAC. Again, high levels of PRO-C11-511 (>75th percentile) were associated with poor OS (HR, 95% CI: 1.68, 1.40-2.02). Furthermore, PRO-C11-511 remained significant after adjusting for clinical risk factors (HR, 95% CI: 1.50, 1.22-1.86). In conclusion, quantifying serum levels of Type XI collagen with PRO-C11-511 predicts poor OS in patients with PDAC. This supports that Type XI collagen is important for PDAC biology and that PRO-C11-511 has prognostic noninvasive biomarker potential for patients with PDAC.
