Abstract Social enterprises are a powerful starting point for achieving Common Prosperity. Expanding the scale of social enterprises in China is conducive to promoting sustainable social development. This study uses exploratory spatial data analysis methods to systematically analyze the spatio-temporal pattern, clustering characteristics and impact mechanism of the development of social enterprises in provincial administrative regions in China. The research has found that provincial social enterprises in China showed a random distribution pattern from 2015 to 2018, and showed significant negative spatial correlation from 2019 to 2022, forming a local spatial pattern of "low ones consistently low, high ones consistently high", with obvious path and spatial dependencies as well as regional isolation effects; From 2015 to 2022, the core density of provincial social enterprises showed a significant "unipolar" phenomenon, exhibiting significant spatial imbalance. Based on the TOE framework, each province and city can be divided into three clusters: demonstration provinces and cities for the development of social enterprises, starting provinces and cities for social enterprises, and lagging provinces and cities for the development of social enterprises. The first classification presents characteristics of dispersion and cross domain, while the other two categories have strong regional continuity. The core driving factors that affect the spatial differentiation of social enterprise development have regional differences, among which the decisive factor is government policy support, and the interaction factor has an enhanced effect on provincial spatial differentiation compared to a single factor. Sorting out the development characteristics of social enterprises is conducive to promoting the large-scale development of social enterprises and promoting cooperation and dialogue with other countries.

Abstract Increasing pollution of microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) has caused widespread concern worldwide. Extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) are natural organic polymers mainly produced by microorganisms, the major components of which are polysaccharides and proteins. This review focuses on the interactions that occur between EPS and MPs/NPs in the water environment and evaluates the effects of these interactions on the behaviors of MPs/NPs. EPS-driven formation of eco-corona, biofilm, and "marine snow" can incorporate MPs and NPs into sinking aggregates, resulting in the export of MPs/NPs from the upper water column. EPS coating greatly enhances the adsorption of metals and organic pollutants by MPs due to the larger specific surface area and the abundance of functional groups such as carboxyl, hydroxyl and amide groups. EPS can weaken the physical properties of MPs. Through the synergistic action of different extracellular enzymes, MPs may be decomposed into oligomers and monomers that can enter microbial cells for further mineralization. This review contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of MPs and NPs in the water environment and the associated ecological risks.

Abstract Previous research has identified a negative association between mobile phone addiction and time management disposition among college students; however, the direction of this relationship remains divergent. This study utilized a cross-lagged panel model to elucidate the directionality of the relationship between mobile phone addiction and time management disposition. A total of 466 college students completed two measures at seven-month intervals. The findings revealed a prevalence of mobile phone addiction at 10.94 % and 13.73 % in the two surveys. Notably, both mobile phone addiction and time management disposition demonstrated stability over time. Furthermore, a discernible negative bidirectional relationship was observed between the two. The present findings underscore the importance of timely intervention for college students facing challenges in mobile phone usage and time management.

Abstract The Artificial Intelligence Writing Evaluation system is widely used in China College English writing. It provides for both teachers and the English learners services of automated composition evaluation on the net in order that teacher's working load can be reduced and they can learn directly about the students' English writing level and that the students' English writing will be improved. Juku automated writing evaluation (AWE) is one of the most used systems among colleges and universities in China. The empirical study was conducted on the use of Juku AWE in college English teaching. Through the experiment with 114 students from 2 classes in Xi'an University and questionnaires and interview for both 30 teachers and 200 students using Juku AWE, the author finds that: (1) Using AWE does effectively help the students with their English writing; (2) Both teachers and students have positive attitude to the use of AWE in terms of immediate and clear feedback, time-saving, and arousing interests in English writing; and (3) AWE still needs to be perfected as it cannot provide proper evaluation on the text structure, content logic, and coherence. So both teachers and students should take the score from AWE objectively.

Abstract In this paper, we propose a two-step semi-nonparametric estimator for the widely used random coefficients logit demand model. The approach applies to the same setup as Berry et al. (1995, BLP)-type of models with many products, but has the advantage of not requiring computing demand inversion. In particular, the first step of our approach estimates the fixed coefficients via a computationally very easy linear sieve generalized method of moments (GMM). The second step uncovers the distribution of the random coefficient via a sieve minimum distance or GMM procedure. We show identification and derive the asymptotic properties of the estimator in a large market environment. Monte Carlo simulations and empirical illustrations support the theoretical results and demonstrate the usefulness of our estimator in practice.
