Abstract In this study, incidence of Mycoplasma bovis, M. dispar, M. bovirhinis and M. mycoides subsp. mycoides (small colony type) was determined, and the histopathological changes in the lungs were investigated in the pneumonic cattle living in Kars. For this purpose, lung samples were collected from 100 pneumonic cattle that were grossly detected after slaughter, and processed routinely for histopathological examination. Bacteriological investigations were performed by inoculating the tissue samples onto Mycoplasma agar and broth, and searching for 'L' colony type. Using specific oligoprimer pairs for the Mycoplasma species, DNA amplifications were carried out by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and the amplicons were electrophoretically run in 1.5% agarose gel. In histopathological examinations, pneumonias ranging from catharal to granulomatous were determined. Microscopic observations of fibrinous pneumonias, which are caused by Mycoplasmas, revealed coagulation necrosis, accompanying neutrophile and mononuclear cell infiltration, edema, fibrin, occasional thrombosis and thickening of pleura. In PCR analysis, 400, 433 and 316 base pair long bands representative of M. bovis, M. dispar and M. bovirhinis were detected, respectively. M. bovis and M. dispar were detected, only in animals with fibrinous pneumonia, in 4 and 6 animals, respectively.

Abstract Importance: Sensory processing difficulties are commonly seen in people with mental disorders. However, no questionnaires specific to Turkish culture are available for people with mental disorders.
Objective: To examine the cultural adaptation, reliability, and validity of the Turkish Sensory Responsiveness Questionnaire (SRQ).
    Design: Causal comparative groups design.
Setting: Homes, clinics, hospitals, and therapy practices in Turkey.
Participants: A total of 913 participants, of whom 529 were participants ages 18-60 yr with mental disorders.
Outcomes and measures: The cross-cultural adaptation and translation procedures were conducted following Beaton's guidelines. Internal consistency was examined with Cronbach's α. Criterion-related validity of the SRQ was determined with the Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile using construct validity and was examined by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using IBM SPSS Statistics (Version 23) and AMOS (Version 24.0).
Results: In CFA, model fit indices showed an acceptable fit. Test-retest reliability was excellent for the hedonic and avoidance subfactor scores and for the total score (intraclass correlation coefficients = .973, .988, and .974, respectively). Internal consistency was high for the hedonic subfactor (.812) and the avoidance subfactor (.815). Participants with bipolar disorder had the highest scores on the hedonic subfactor, whereas those with schizophrenia had the highest scores on the avoidance subfactor.
Conclusions and relevance: The 36-item SRQ is reliable and valid for analyzing the sensory processing abilities of adults in the Turkish population. Plain-Language Summary: People with mental disorders commonly have difficulties with sensory processing. No sensory responsiveness questionnaire specific to the Turkish population or culture is available for people with mental disorders. This study shows that the current form of the Turkish Sensory Responsiveness Questionnaire can contribute to understanding the sensory processing abilities of Turkish people with and without mental disorders.

Abstract Aim: A follow-up conversation with bereaved parents is a relatively well-established intervention in paediatric clinical practice. Yet, the content and value of these conversations remain unclear. This review aims to provide insight into the content of follow-up conversations between bereaved parents and regular healthcare professionals (HCPs) in paediatrics and how parents and HCPs experience these conversations.
Methods: Systematic literature review using the methods PALETTE and PRISMA. The search was conducted in PubMed and CINAHL on 3 February 2021. The results were extracted and integrated using thematic analysis.
Results: Ten articles were included. This review revealed that follow-up conversations are built around three key elements: (1) gaining information, (2) receiving emotional support and (3) facilitating parents to provide feedback. In addition, this review showed that the vast majority of parents and HCPs experienced follow-up conversations as meaningful and beneficial for several reasons.
Conclusion: An understanding of what parents and HCPs value in follow-up conversations aids HCPs in conducting follow-up conversations and improves care for bereaved parents by enhancing the HCPs' understanding of parental needs.

Abstract Objectives: In palliative care, effective communication is essential to adequately meet the needs and preferences of patients and their relatives. Effective communication includes exchanging information, facilitates shared decision-making, and promotes an empathic care relationship. We explored the perspectives of patients with an advanced illness and their relatives on effective communication with health-care professionals.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted. We searched Embase, Medline, Web of Science, CINAHL, and Cochrane for original empirical studies published between January 1, 2015 and March 4, 2021.
Results: In total, 56 articles on 53 unique studies were included. We found 7 themes that from the perspectives of patients and relatives contribute to effective communication: (1) open and honest information. However, this open and honest communication can also trigger anxiety, stress, and existential disruption. Patients and relatives also indicated that they preferred (2) health-care professionals aligning to the patient's and relative's process of uptake and coping with information; (3) empathy; (4) clear and understandable language; (5) leaving room for positive coping strategies, (6) committed health-care professionals taking responsibility; and (7) recognition of relatives in their role as caregiver. Most studies in this review concerned communication with physicians in a hospital setting.
Significance of results: Most patients and relatives appreciate health-care professionals to not only pay attention to strictly medical issues but also to who they are as a person and the process they are going through. More research is needed on effective communication by nurses, in nonhospital settings and on communication by health-care professionals specialized in palliative care.

Abstract Objective: Thyroid cancer can be detected in 5-10% of patients with thyroid nodules. Management may be a challenge if fine-needle aspiration biopsy yields Bethesda III findings. Most of these cases undergo surgery and are ultimately found benign. Our aim was to evaluate whether serum osteopontin can accurately estimate thyroid cancer risk in cases with cytologically Bethesda III thyroid nodules and, thereby, decrease the number of unnecessary surgical interventions.
Design and methods: We obtained blood samples of cases with repeated cytologically Bethesda III thyroid nodules before surgery, and followed up the pathology results after thyroidectomy. We evaluated serum osteopontin from 36 patients with papillary thyroid cancer and compared them with 40 benign cases.
Results: Serum osteopontin levels in patients with papillary thyroid cancer are significantly higher than in benign cases (mean serum osteopontin: 10.48 ± 3.51 ng/mL vs6.14 ± 2.29 ng/mL,
Conclusions: In our preliminary study, high serum osteopontin levels can predict the risk of papillary thyroid cancer in thyroid nodules with Bethesda III cytology. Further studies are necessary to confirm these findings.
