Abstract Vaccines adjuvants are critically needed to enhance the effectiveness of subunit vaccines. Due to their ability to link the innate with the adaptive immune response, Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonists have received great attention as adjuvants in vaccines against severe and complex diseases such as cancer, AIDS, and malaria. Here, we describe in vitro assays, e.g., the Monocyte Activation Test, TLR-specific activation assay, and TLR-blocking experiments, used to assess TLR agonists adjuvanted vaccines' safety and to characterize their ability to stimulate the innate immunity. Such assays are physiologically relevant as they work with human cells and allow to overcome the complexity and variability related to in vivo assays.

Title translation The implementation of Family Nursing: the experience of a District of Venice.
Abstract . The implementation of family nursing: the experience of a District of Venice.
Introduction: The need to provide district nursing care for patients with simple and complex chronic diseases requires planning and investment in the training of nurses.
Objective: To describe the model of management of simple chronic care with the implementation of the Family Nursing in the Districts of the Azienda ULSS 3 Serenissima.
Methods: After the analysis of the epidemiological and socio-demographic data of the resident population, and the stratification in classes homogeneous for resource use, according to the Adjusted Clinical Group model, the candidates for the family nurse's position were trained with an ad hoc course.
Results: The preferred target for the experimental implementation of Family Nursing care was the elderly population with chronic diseases in District 1, not followed by other health services. At the end of 2022 12 Family Nurses candidates were identified. After a training course, they gradually took over patients with simple chronic conditions, starting with the District 1 with the highest prevalence.
Conclusions: In the year 2022, 614 new patients started to be cared for by Family Nurses, in 2023 approximately 900 patients are being followed and monitored by the Family Nurse.

Abstract The impact of metropolization processes and climate change effects on natural and anthropic environments, together with energy waste, the excessive consumption of agricultural and natural soils and their progressive waterproofing and a reduction in vegetation cover, highlights the need for sustainable management of existing resources, in terms of equitable and ethical development, towards sustainable and inclusive communities able to adapt to the negative effects of emergency phenomena. This contribution presents the results of the activities conducted in the RivEr/Generation_LAB, a project organized by three CIVIS members (Sapienza University of Rome, Universitè libre de Bruxelles, Universidad Autonoma de Madrid) as a part of the CIVIS Project “RivEr/Generation_LAB. Linking resilience with inclusiveness in the urban built environment of Rome, Brussels, and Madrid”, financed by the Hub4 Cities, Territories & Mobilities’ Call for proposals 2021. The project proposes a methodology of intervention in the Flaminio district, in particular in the Olympic Village and its relationship with the Tiber River, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment and the New European Bauhaus, to establish new relationships between cities and the natural environment, favoring sustainable and inclusive public spaces.
