    Abstract Thermal damage due to microstructure changes will occur in propellants under thermal stimulation. It can significantly affect the sensitization, combustion, and other properties of the propellant, which, in turn, affects the impact safety of the solid propellant rocket engine. A new component which uniformly heats the sample was designed to conduct the Lagrange test and EFP impact test at different temperatures. The thermal decomposition and damage characteristics of the propellant during the heating process were quantitatively analyzed. Additionally, the effects of ambient temperature on impact initiation and detonation growth of the high-energy propellant were elucidated at a mesoscopic level. The results showed that the porosity of the specimen increased by 0.89% under the thermomechanical mechanism, which was mainly characterized by interfacial de-bonding between the AP and the binder. The increase in thermal damage changed the hot spot reaction rate and significantly affected the growth process of propellant impact initiation. A method was proposed to systematically calibrate the reaction rate model for the propellant at different temperatures. The theoretical model parameters of the high-energy propellant at two typical temperatures were calibrated in this way. The critical shell thicknesses computed using LS-DYNA, which, for 20 and 70 °C, were obtained as 15 and 20 mm, respectively.

    Abstract The SARS-CoV-2 virus has caused a global pandemic with serious impact around the world. Patients most commonly present with severe lung involvement and acute respiratory failure; however, multisystem inflammatory syndrome in adults (MIS-A) is a known-although rare-complication. We present a case of a 49-year-old patient who presented with combined cardiogenic and vasodilatory shock and was diagnosed with MIS-A. He initially required venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and Impella for haemodynamic support but was able to be weaned off these devices with complete recovery of left ventricular systolic function. This case demonstrates that MIS-A may present as haemodynamic collapse in adults, but complete recovery is possible with proper haemodynamic support.

    Abstract Introduction: Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF) has emerged as the most effective therapy. However, rare anatomical abnormalities such as situs inversus totalis, dextrocardia, or interrupted inferior vena cava can make ablation challenging.
    Methods and results: We report a case of a 55-year-old woman with situs inversus totalis, dextrocardia, surgical atrial septal defect repair, left-sided dual chamber pacemaker in place, and symptomatic recurrent persistent AF who underwent successful pulmonary vein and posterior wall isolation by the superior access from the left internal jugular vein.
    Conclusions: It is a feasible and safe approach with support of transesophageal echocardiography and multiple emerging technologies.

    Abstract Molecular fluorophores emitting in the second near-infrared (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) window with strong optical harvesting and high quantum yields hold great potential for in vivo deep-tissue bioimaging and high-resolution biosensing. Recently, J-aggregates are harnessed to engineer long-wavelength NIR-II emitters and show unique superiority in tumor detection, vessel mapping, surgical navigation, and phototheranostics due to their bathochromic-shifted optical bands in the required slip-stacked arrangement aggregation state. However, despite the preliminary progress of NIR-II J-aggregates and theoretical study of structure-property relationships, further paradigms of NIR-II J-aggregates remain scarce due to the lack of study on aggregated fluorophores with slip-stacked fashion. In this effort, how to utilize the specific molecular structure to form slip-stacked packing motifs with J-type aggregated exciton coupling is emphatically elucidated. First, several molecular regulating strategies to achieve NIR-II J-aggregates containing intermolecular interactions and external conditions are positively summarized and deeply analyzed. Then, the recent reports on J-aggregates for NIR-II bioimaging and theranostics are systematically summarized to provide a clear reference and direction for promoting the development of NIR-II organic fluorophores. Eventually, the prospective efforts on ameliorating and promoting NIR-II J-aggregates to further clinical practices are outlined.

    Abstract Background: Observational studies have shown that central obesity is associated with adverse cardiac structure and function. However, causal association between central obesity and left ventricular (LV) structure and function in preserved ejection fraction (EF) population is still uncertain.
    Methods: Genome-wide association studies summary data of waist circumference adjusted for body mass index (WCadjBMI) and waist-to-hip ratio adjusted for body mass index (WHRadjBMI) were selected as instrumental variables from the Genetic Investigation of Anthropometric Traits (GIANT) Consortium (
    Results: In the IVW analysis, every 1-standard deviation (SD) higher WHRadjBMI was significantly associated with higher LVMVR (β = 0.4583; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.2921 to 0.6244;
    Conclusion: Our findings provide evidence of significant causal association between WHRadjBMI and adverse changes in LV structure and function in preserved EF population.

    Abstract Large-scale broadband low earth orbit (LEO) satellite systems have become a possibility due to decreased launch costs and rapidly evolving technology. Preventing huge LEO satellite constellations from interfering with the geostationary earth orbit (GSO) satellite system, progressive pitch is a technique to avoid interference with the GSO satellite system that allows the LEO satellite system to maintain a certain angle of separation from the GSO satellite system. Aside from interference avoidance, there is also a need to ensure seamless coverage of the LEO constellation and to optimize the overall transmission capacity of the LEO satellite as much as possible, making it extremely complex to design an effective progressive pitch plan. This paper models an inline interference event and seamless coverage and builds an optimization problem by maximizing transmission capacity. This paper reformulates the problem and designs a genetic algorithm to solve it. From the simulation results, the strategy can avoid harmful interference to the GSO satellite system and ensure the seamless coverage of the LEO constellation, and the satellite transmission capacity is also maximized.

    Abstract By introducing the arrayed waveguide router (AWGR) optical true time-delay (OTTD) architecture in bent-pipe satellite optical inter-link to optically assist the RF phased array in Low-earth orbit satellites will extend the multi-hop bent-pipe satellite beam-hopping protocol proposed in DVB-S2X. It solves the challenge of beam steering with the support of precise, broadband, and wide-range scanning. This architecture utilizes a subarray to combine the advantages of AWGR and a high-precision RF phase shifter to realize the beam pointing without an oblique view. Unlike the traditional digital and analog phased array architecture, the introduction of OTTD can solve the problem of beam squint and also ensure the high-precision scanning of the beam.
