Abstract Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) are employed to solve the classical compressible flow problem in a converging-diverging nozzle. This problem represents a typical example described by the Euler equations, a thorough understanding of which serves as a guide for solving more general compressible flows. Given a geometry of the channel, analytical solutions for the steady states do indeed exist, and they depend on the ratio between the back pressure of the outlet and the stagnation pressure of the inlet. Moreover, in the diverging region, the solution may branch into subsonic flow, supersonic flow, or a mixture of both with a discontinuous transition where a normal shock occurs. Classical numerical schemes with shock fitting and capturing methods have been developed to solve this type of problem effectively, whereas the original PINNs are unable to predict the flows correctly. We make a first attempt to exploit the power of PINNs to solve this problem directly by adjusting the weights of different components of the loss function to acquire physical solutions and in the meantime, avoid trivial solutions. With a universal setting yet no exogenous data, we are able to solve this problem accurately; that is, for different given pressure ratios, PINNs provide different branches of solutions at both steady and unsteady states, some of which are discontinuous in nature. For an inverse problem such as unknown specific-heat ratio, it works effectively as well.

Abstract An extend-policy iterative algorithm is proposed for solving the ecological evolving-lung cancer cells growth inhibition optimal drug delivery scheme. With the analysis of the cell proliferation-apoptosis process of lung cancer cells with primitive immune system and external drug interventions, such as chemotherapeutic drugs and immunological agents, a model of ecological containment of lung cancer cells mimicking injection labeling is constructed. The HJB equation for biological tissue damage has also been established by considering the concentration of lung cancer cells in the blood and the amount of drug administered. The final simulation experiment proved the effectiveness of the drug delivery scheme.

Abstract Amyloidosis is a local or systemic disease caused by the deposition of misfolded proteins outside the cell, with rapid progression, and dire prognosis. Common types of cardiac amyloidosis are monoclonal immunoglobulin light chain amyloidosis (AL-CA) and transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CA). Nuclear medicine examinations can be accurate, rapid, and non-invasive to help diagnose diseases and can effectively predict the prognosis of patients with CA. Technetium (

Abstract In natural kaolinite lattices, Al3+ can potentially be substituted by cations such as Mg2+, Ca2+, and Fe3+, thereby influencing its adsorption characteristics towards rare earth elements like Sc3+. Density functional theory (DFT) has emerged as a crucial tool in the study of adsorption phenomena, particularly for understanding the complex interactions of rare earth elements with clay minerals. This study employed DFT to investigate the impact of these three dopant elements on the adsorption of hydrated Sc3+ on the kaolinite (001) Al-OH surface. We discerned that the optimal adsorption configuration for hydrated Sc3+ is Sc(H2O)83+, with a preference for adsorption at the deprotonated O

Abstract Animal domestication is the process of changing wild animals into domesticated animals that can be kept stably for a long period of time. As the content of the Neolithic agricultural revolution, domestication is one of the important milestones of the progress of human civilization. Due to the close relationship between humans and animals, domestication has not only changed the wild state of animals, but also changed the habits and historical processes of human beings. The key question on animal domestication research include who is the ancestors of the domesticated animals were, the changes produced by domestication, and the time and place of domestication. Due to the advances in high-throughput genomic technologies and correspondence analysis methods, animal domestication is generally studied at the population level. Here we discuss the research content of animal domestication under population genetics, including population history, selection signals, as well as gene introgression, and we highlight two new expand contents, namely, dating the initial time of gene selection and the time of gene introgression. Finally, we summarize the recent research progress of major domesticated including pig, chicken, sheep and goat. These advances provide a new insights and perspective for the research on the animal domestication.
