Abstract Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory infectious disease with a high fatality rate. Up to now, there are an estimated 26 million confirmed cases and 865,000 deaths around the world. But no effective way can control this disease. As the country that first discovered and treated the COVID-19, China has formed relatively mature prevention and treatment methods such as "3 prescriptions and 3 drugs." Xuan Fei Bai Du Fang, as a member of "3 prescriptions and 3 drugs," has very good clinical effects.
Methods: The PubMed, EMBASE, ClinicalTrials.gov, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang databases were searched for randomized controlled studies published to date. This study only screens clinical randomized controlled trials on QFBDF for COVID-19 to evaluate its efficacy and safety.Import all literatures that meet the requirements into Endnote X9 software. The information was finally cross-checked by 2 reviewers. Papers selected for review were assessed for risk of bias according to the criteria. Quality assessment on design of study, risk of bias, indirectness and imprecision were assessed using the GRADE framework. Where sufficient studies were available, publication bias was assessed visually using funnel plots. Relative risks for primary and secondary outcomes were calculated on an intent-to-treat basis and pooled using random effects meta-analysis. the continuous is expressed by mean difference or standard mean difference, eventually the data is synthesized using a fixed effect model or a random effect model depending on whether or not heterogeneity exists. The heterogeneity of studies will be evaluated by Q-test and I2 statistic with RevMan5.3.
Results: The time from a positive diagnosis to a negative result of 2 consecutive nucleic acid tests (not on the same day), cure rate. The results of our research will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
Conclusion: The purpose of this systematic review is to provide new evidence for the effectiveness and safety of Xuan Fei Bai Du Fang in the treatment of COVID-19.

Abstract Using carbon and nitrogen stable isotope analysis, we characterised food web properties of the deep subtropical Fei-Tsui Reservoir (FTR), which was recently altered from a lotic to a lentic system after dam construction. In the littoral zone, zoobenthos showed strong reliance (83.9%) on benthic algal production. Zoobenthos were never found in the profundal zone because of anoxia. Zooplankton depleted ¹³C more than that of particulate organic matter as their putative food source, suggesting a contribution of methane-derived carbon to pelagic food webs. Excluding juveniles, non-native and fluvial species, adult fish showed strong reliance (on average 80.9%) on benthic production, weakly coupled with pelagic food webs. These results contrast low benthic production reliance (on average 27.4%) for a fish community in Lake Biwa, which is also classified as a subtropical lake. Both lakes are characterised by deep pelagic waters but quite different in their geological ages, suggesting that the aquatic communities in the FTR have fluvial origins, and their lacustrine history was too short for them to adapt to newly emerged deep pelagic habitat. Our isotope data are useful as a reference of newly established lentic food webs to monitor ongoing ecological and evolutionary dynamics as a result of anthropogenic disturbances.

Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance: Bu-Fei Yi-Shen granule combined with acupoint sticking therapy has been used in the patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as major traditional interventions for the treatment of the disease.
Aim of the study: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese herbal medicine, the Bu-Fei Yi-Shen granule combined with acupoint sticking therapy in patients with stable COPD.
Methods: A 4-center, double-blinded, double-dummy and randomized controlled method was conducted. 244 patients who were divided into the trial group (n=122, treated with Bu-Fei Yi-Shen granule combined with Shu-Fei Tie acupoint sticking therapy and oral placebo sustained-release theophylline) and the control group (n=122, treated with oral sustained-release theophylline and placebo Bu-Fei Yi-Shen granule combined with placebo Shu-Fei Tie acupoint sticking therapy). The frequency and duration of acute exacerbation, lung function, clinical symptoms, six-minute walking distance, dyspnea grade and quality of life were observed during the 4-month treatment period, and for a further 6 months follow-up.
Results: Two hundred and twenty one patients fully completed the study, intent-to-treat (ITT) population was 234 and per-protocol (PP) population was 221. After treatment for 4 months and follow-up for 6 months, there were differences between the experimental and control group in frequency of acute exacerbation (ITT: P=0.007, P=0.013; PP: P=0.045, P=0.046); duration of acute exacerbation (ITT: P=0.030, P=0.005; PP: P=0.048, P=0.006); scores of symptoms (ITT: P=0.000, P=0.000; PP: P=0.000, P=0.000); six-minute walking distance (ITT: P=0.002, P=0.001; PP: P=0.002, P=0.001); dyspnea grade (ITT: P=0.014, P=0.009; PP: P=0.018, P=0.012); physiological aspects (ITT: P=0.003, P=0.000; PP: P=0.001, P=0.000); psychological aspects (ITT: P=0.007, P=0.001; PP: P=0.001, P=0.000) and environment aspects (ITT: P=0.003, P=0.000; PP: P=0.001, P=0.000) of the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. There were no differences between the experimental and control group in FVC, FEV1 and FEV1% and adverse events.
Conclusions: Bu-Fei Yi-Shen granule combined with acupoint sticking therapy showed beneficial effects for patients with stable COPD in the measured parameters over the 4-month treatment period and 6 months follow-up, with no relevant between-group differences in adverse events.
