    Abstract Background: COVID-19 pandemic has caused mask-related skin problems on health-care professions, yet very few studies have investigated the prevalence in oriental general population.
    Objective: To investigate the prevalence of mask-related adverse skin reactions in Orientals, to explore psychological influence, to identify risk factors for mask-related acne exacerbation.
    Methods: We performed a survey through social media. Participant demographics, skin condition before and after COVID-19, and the influence of adverse skin on social-psychological conditions were collected. We compared characteristics between individuals with or without acne exacerbation, and we performed a logistic regression to identify risk factors.
    Results: Six hundred and six participants (62.3%) responded the survey and 23.3% complained their facial acnes become exacerbated since COVID-19. The social-psychological impact of acnes is more prevalent in women. Risk factors for mask-related acne exacerbation were occupation as health-care workers (OR = 1.861, p = 0.027), prolonged wearing of N95 masks (OR = 3.167, p = 0.001), and touching of acnes (OR = 2.65, p = 0.002). Sex, pre-existed acnes, and prolonged wearing time per day are also associated with acne exacerbation.
    Conclusions: Mask-related adverse skin reactions are common in Orientals, and could lead to negative social-psychological effects.

    Abstract Purpose: Metabolic and immune changes in the early stages of osteoporosis are not well understood. This study aimed to explore the changes in bone metabolites and bone marrow lymphocyte subsets and their relationship during the osteoporosis onset.
    Methods: We established OVX and Sham mouse models. After 5, 15, and 40 days, five mice in each group were sacrificed. Humeri were analyzed by microCT. The bone marrow cells of the left femur and tibia were collected for flow cytometry analysis. The right femur and tibia were analyzed by LC-MS/MS for metabolomics analysis.
    Results: Bone microarchitecture was significantly deteriorated 15 days after OVX surgery. Analysis of bone metabolomics showed that obvious metabolite changes had happened since 5 days after surgery. Lipid metabolism was significant at the early stage of the osteoporosis. The proportion of immature B cells was increased, whereas the proportion of mature B cells was decreased in the OVX group. Metabolites were significantly correlated with the proportion of lymphocyte subsets at the early stage of the osteoporosis.
    Conclusion: Lipid metabolism was significant at the early stage of the osteoporosis. Bone metabolites may influence bone formation by interfering with bone marrow lymphocyte subsets.

    Abstract Osteoporosis is partially caused by dysfunctions in the commitment, differentiation or survival of osteoblasts. Bone marrow fatty acids affect bone resorption and formation. In this study, we aimed to explore the role of fatty acids in the early stages of postmenopausal osteoporosis and determine whether they influence osteogenic differentiation through microRNAs. A quantitative analysis of bone marrow fatty acids early after ovariectomy or sham surgery in a rat osteoporotic model was performed using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. The results showed that palmitoleate was significantly decreased on postoperative day 3 while both pentadecanoate and palmitoleate were significantly decreased on postoperative day 5 in rats in the ovariectomized group compared with those in the sham group. Palmitoleate promotes osteogenic differentiation, whereas pentadecanoate inhibits this process. Palmitoleate levels were higher than those of pentadecanoate; therefore, the early overall effect of significant bone marrow fatty acid changes was a decrease in osteogenic differentiation. We also found that miR-92b-3p inhibited osteoblastogenesis via the miR-92b-3p/phosphatase and tensin homolog regulatory axis. Palmitoleate, pentadecanoate, and palmitate influenced the osteoblastogenesis of MC3T3-E1 cells through miR-92b-3p. Taken together, we propose that miR-92b-3p mediates the effect of bone marrow fatty acids on osteoblast differentiation in the early stages of osteoporosis. These findings may provide molecular insights for the treatment of osteoporosis.

    Abstract Drugs with anti-platelet aggregation and neuroprotection are of great significance for the treatment of ischemic stroke. A series of edaravone and 6-phenyl-4,5-dihydropyridazin-3(2H)-one hybrids were designed and synthesized. Among them, 6g showed the most effective cytoprotective effect against oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation-induced damage in BV2 cells and an excellent inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation induced by adenosine diphosphate and arachidonic acid. Additionally, 6g could prevent thrombosis caused by ferric chloride in rats and pose a lower risk of causing bleeding compared with aspirin. It provides better protection against ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats compared with edaravone and alleviates the oxidative stress related to cerebral ischemia/reperfusion by increasing the GSH and SOD levels and decreasing the MDA concentration. Finally, molecular docking results showed that 6g probably acts on PDE3 A and plays an anti-platelet aggregation effect. Overall, 6g could be a potential candidate compound for the treatment of ischemic stroke.

    Abstract Purpose: In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine has received widespread attention in the field of cancer pain treatment. This meta-analysis is the first to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture point stimulation in the treatment of stomach cancer pain.
    Methods: For this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, WANFANG, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Chinese Journal of Science and Technology (VIP) databases as well as forward and backward citations to studies published between database creation to July 27, 2023. All randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on acupuncture point stimulation for the treatment of patients with stomach cancer pain were included without language restrictions. We assessed all outcome indicators of the included trials. The evidence from the randomized controlled trials was synthesized as the standardized mean difference (SMD) of symptom change. The quality of the evidence was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. This study is registered on PROSPERO under the number CRD42023457341.
