Abstract Wetlands are critical habitats for birds. However, wetlands are being degraded at an accelerating rate due to global human activity, and a disproportionate fraction of wetland-dependent bird species are in decline. We evaluated the conservation value of a new Ramsar site, Guangdong Haifeng Wetlands, China, for birds, by comparing bird communities (using line transect data) in 3 different districts: Gongping, Dongguan Lian'anwei and Dahu. We recorded 139 species of birds, including 26 species that are protected at a national level. Dahu had the highest species richness and diversity, whereas Dongguan Lian'anwei had the highest abundance of birds and the lowest species diversity. Finally, Gongping had both the lowest species richness and the lowest abundance. The endemism of constituent species differed among districts, and the bird communities were complementary. There were significant seasonal differences in the species richness and the number of individuals. Spring had the highest species richness and diversity. The present study identifies the high conservation value of Haifeng Wetlands for both waterbirds and terrestrial birds. Our findings suggest that conservation efforts in Haifeng Wetlands and other wetlands should focus not only on wintering migratory birds, but also on resident birds. To accomplish effective conservation, we should consider the reserve and surrounding wetlands as a whole, incorporating ecological research, education and local economic development.

Abstract City reputation is a valuable asset for the local economy and firms in the contemporary society. However, the impact of city reputation on micro-level firms has been largely overlooked by the literature. This paper uses the National Civilized City (NCC) policy in China as a quasi-natural experiment to enhance city reputation. We employ the DID approach to investigate the relationship between city reputation and corporate risk-taking. The result shows that corporate risk-taking significantly increases following the NCC policy adoption. Moreover, information asymmetry can strengthen the positive impact of city reputation on corporate risk-taking. Channel tests show that city reputation improves financial condition and decreases default risk, leading to improved risk-taking tolerance. Overall, our paper indicates that city reputation is an important mechanism to improve corporate financial performance, providing empirical evidence for local governments to pursue the NCC title.

Abstract Objective: The aim is to investigate the clinical characteristics of systemic lupus erythematosus with intracranial hypertension.
Methods: The clinical characteristics of one case of systemic lupus erythematosus with chronic persistent intracranial hypertension were analyzed, and related literature was reviewed by searching Medline and Wanfang databases.
Results: Intracranial hypertension in SLE patients may occur at the onset or during the course of the disease. Our patient was diagnosed with IH 3 years after the onset of SLE. Headache and papilledema were the most common symptoms of intracranial hypertension, followed by nausea or vomiting, vision changes, and cerebral palsy. Our patient had a headache and cranial hypertension that lasted for years, but no papilledema was found. Corticosteroid is currently the mainstay of the treatment of IIH in patients with SLE, and immunosuppressive agents, acetazolamide, intravenous mannitol and furosemide are also used. However, our patient did not respond to these treatments and presents the characteristics of chronic persistent intracranial hypertension.
Conclusion: Systemic lupus erythematosus with intracranial hypertension is a rare manifestation of SLE, which is not completely parallel to SLE activity. Headache and papilledema were the most common presenting symptoms. Different from previous reported cases, our patient had poor response to treatments, showing chronic and persistent characteristics.
