Abstract Purpose: To analyze ultrasound features of cervical thoracic duct for patients with constrictive pericarditis and chylothorax.
Methods: Patients were retrospectively assessed. The patients were divided into a non-pleural effusion (PE) group (n = 54), a chylothorax group (n = 23), and non-chylothorax group (n = 28). Conventional ultrasound was used to obtain the maximum inner diameter and collapse of the inferior vena cava, the inner diameter of left cervical thoracic duct, and the frequency of opening of the valve at the end of the left thoracic duct. Contrast ultrasonography was used to score the reverse flow of the thoracic tube.
Results: The percentage of PE was 48.5%, and the percentage of chylothorax was 21.9%. The three groups had significant differences in five parameters. The inner diameter of left cervical thoracic duct was correlated with the degree of central venous pressure. Contrast ultrasonography was effective in quantitative assessment of the degree of intravenous-thoracic cord reverse flow which correlated with all parameters of central venous pressure.
Conclusion: Thoracic duct dilation and regurgitation secondary to central venous pressure can lead to chyloreflux disorder and may be the mechanism of chylothorax occurrence in constrictive pericarditis.

Abstract Introduction: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to provide an updated evidence base for clinical decision-making by comparing the efficacy and safety of aflibercept 2 mg and ranibizumab in treating retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
Methods: A systematic search was conducted using eight databases up to December 2021. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and real-world studies (RWSs) comparing aflibercept and ranibizumab in patients with RVO were evaluated. The primary outcomes assessed were efficacy, number of injections administered, and adverse events.
Results: Three RCTs (424 patients) and 11 RWSs (1415 patients) were included. For central RVO (CRVO), RCTs demonstrated a comparable efficacy, whereas RWSs showed that mean changes from baseline in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central retinal thickness (CRT) were significantly greater with aflibercept compared to ranibizumab; the number of injections of aflibercept was fewer than that of ranibizumab in RCTs, but similar in RWSs. For branch RVO (BRVO), no statistically significant difference in efficacy between the two drugs in RCTs/RWSs was observed, with fewer injections of aflibercept at 12 months in RWSs. The safety profiles of both drugs were similar for both CRVO and BRVO.
Conclusions: For CRVO, aflibercept had similar efficacy and safety profile but with fewer injections versus ranibizumab in RCTs; RWSs showed greater BCVA improvement and CRT reduction with aflibercept than ranibizumab. For BRVO, RCTs showed similar in efficacy, safety, and injection numbers for both drugs, while RWSs demonstrated that aflibercept required fewer injections at 12 months of follow-up. Overall, this study provides updated evidence for clinical decision-making in the treatment of RVO.

Abstract Shifting from a land-scale operation to a service-scale operation of agricultural production chain outsourcing services (APOS) is crucial to achieving innovation in agricultural-scale operation techniques. Using propensity score matching (PSM) and data from 1027 farm households in Guanzhong Plain, Shaanxi Province, we empirically assessed the impact of APOS on agricultural output level and output risk. First, age, gender, health, education, training, number of outworkers, land tenure, land contiguity, and subsidy satisfaction had a substantial beneficial influence on the involvement of farm families in APOS. Second, involvement in APOS may greatly increase the amount of agricultural production and lower the risk associated with farm families’ agricultural output. Moreover, the participation in outsourcing services for agricultural machinery use and field management significantly increased agricultural output and decreased output risk, but the participation in agricultural machinery use outsourcing services increased yield and reduced risks more significantly.

Abstract Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) as a broad-spectrum germicide in environmental remediation applications, is hindered by mild toxicity to organisms during water sterilization. To solve this dilemma, this work provided an eco-benign approach to utilize maize stalk with natural labyrinthine-channel configuration simultaneously acting as microbe trap and bactericide carrier to arouse bactericidal response of ZnO NPs. The preparation comprises in-situ growing ZnO NPs, accompanied by nanoscale delignification, leading to formed carbohydrate complex retaining the intricately porous structure of the stalk. Assembled by maize-stalk carbohydrate (MSC) composites with 9 short composites in serial, the elimination of Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) reached up 6.7 and 4.8 orders of magnitude, respectively. Labyrinth-framework MSC provided favorable sites for fusiform flower-like ZnO NPs to strongly adsorb (adsorption energy 5.5–11.7 eV) phosphoryl-involved biomacromolecules of bacterial envelops, causing generation of stable Zn-P and Zn-O(H), then cell incompleteness, cellular redox imbalance and DNA damage. Breakthrough analysis exposed the MSC/ZnO-filter possessing remarkable features of antibacterial exhaustion rate (~ 1.06 g/L) and capacity (~ 9.6 × 10⁹ CFU/g) which were comparable with Ag-based composites. As evaluated by the logistic and Gompertz models, the filters effectively sterilized 0.97–10 L of environmental waters to meet the requirements of drinking water.

Abstract Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact on childhood myopia of classrooms with spatial properties of classrooms resembling those of outdoor environments. This article describes the design, baseline characteristics, and the acceptability of this strategy.
Methods: Classrooms had custom-made wallpaper installed with forest and sky scenes that had spatial frequency spectra comparable with outdoor environments (i.e., outdoor scene classrooms). Acceptability of this strategy was evaluated by questionnaires. Outcomes to access the efficacy include cumulative proportion of myopia, change of cycloplegic spherical equivalent refractive error, and axial length.
Results: Ten classes, comprising 520 students, were randomly assigned into outdoor scene or tradition classrooms. There was no difference in refractive status between two groups (myopia/emmetropia/hyperopia, 16.3% vs. 49.4% vs. 34.2% in outdoor scene classrooms, 18.3% vs. 49.0% vs. 32.7% in traditional classrooms; P = .83). Compared with the traditional classrooms, 88.9% of teachers and 87.5% of students felt the outdoor scene classrooms enjoyable, 22.2% of teachers and 75.3% of students reported higher concentration, and 77.8% of teachers and 15.2% of students reported no change. In addition, 44.4% of teachers and 76.0% of students reported higher learning efficiency in the outdoor scene classrooms, and 55.6% of teachers and 18.3% of students reported no change.
Conclusions: Outdoor scene classrooms are appealing to teachers and students. Outcomes of the study will inform the efficacy of this strategy in Chinese children.

Abstract The discoid meniscus is a common congenital meniscal malformation that is prevalent mainly in Asians and often occurs in the lateral discoid meniscus. Patients with asymptomatic discoid meniscus are usually treated by conservative methods such as observation and injury avoidance, while patients with symptoms and tears need to be treated surgically. Arthroscopic saucerization combined with partial meniscectomy and meniscus repair is the most common surgical approach., and early to mid-term reports are good. The prognostic factors are the patient's age at surgery、follow-up time and type of surgery. Some patients experience complications such as prolonged postoperative knee pain, early osteoarthritis, retears and Osteochondritis dissecans. The incidence of prolonged postoperative knee pain was higher and the incidence of Osteochondritis dissecans was the lowest. Retears of the lateral meniscus is the main reason for reoperation.
