Abstract While some international relations scholars agree and some other disagree with the idea of a decline or weakening in US leadership since the early 1970s (specially affected by the collapse of the Bretton Woods International System), one of the main criteria to examin the notion of a decline in US leadership role is unilateralism in American foreign policy in defining Washington's relations with international institutions, as well as its allies. Meanwhile, Donald Trump's specific approach to post-World War II regimes and international institutions/regimes indicates a marked intensification of the US reconsideration of accepting continued international responsibilities as a world power and global leader. In this regard, Trump's cost/benefit approach (2016-2020) to USA relations with some international and regional organizations, such as NATO (as the main and most extensive and effective international security regime in the West for the past 70 years) is considered as the apparent and obvious preference of US national interests over the supportive role of this organization and a kind of breaking tradition of his government's defining US security relations and its national interest on both sides of the Atlantic. The current study aims to find both the roots and causes of Trump's critical approach to the security of NATO's European allies and the way this approach could be seen as a sign of declining or weakening US world leadership. Trump's refusal to provide low-cost security for NATO allies was considered as one of the main criteria for the decline of the US leadership role.

Abstract Critical micelle concentration (CMC) is one of the main physico-chemical properties of surface-active agents, also known as surfactants, with diverse theoretical and industrial applications. It is influenced by basic parameters such as temperature, pH, salinity, and the chemical structure of surfactants. Most studies have only estimated CMC at fixed conditions based on the surfactant's chemical parameters. In the present study, we aimed to develop a set of novel and applicable models for estimating CMC of well-known anionic surfactants by considering both the molecular properties of surfactants and basic affecting factors such as salinity, pH, and temperature as modeling parameters. We employed the quantitative-structural property relationship technique to employ the molecular parameters of surfactant ions. We collected 488 CMC values from literature for 111 sodium-based anionic surfactants, including sulfate types, sulfonate, benzene sulfonate, sulfosuccinate, and polyoxyethylene sulfate. We computed 1410 optimized molecular descriptors for each surfactant using Dragon software to be utilized in the modelling processes. The enhanced replacement method was used for selecting the most effective descriptors for the CMC. A multivariate linear model and two non-linear models are the outputs of the present study. The non-linear models were produced using two robust machine learning approaches, stochastic gradient boosting (SGB) trees and genetic programming (GP). Statistical assessment showed highly applicable and acceptable accuracy of the newly developed models (R

Abstract The effect of humic acid (HA) on the nutritional value and quality of wheat grain and flour has rarely been studied. A field experiment to determine the effect of fertigation of HA and Azotobacter chroococcum UT1 (AZ) on nutrient elements (P, K, Zn, Fe, Mn and Cu), dry gluten, protein and essential amino acids of two wheat cultivars (Chamran and Kouhdasht), comparing four treatments (control, HA, AZ and HA × AZ) using randomized complete block design with four replicates was conducted at the research station of Chardavol in Iran. The 2 years data during 2019 and 2020 indicated that the fertigation of HA and its interaction with AZ (HA × AZ) improved the nutrient elements, dry gluten and protein concentration of wheat grain and flour in both wheat cultivars in comparison with the control treatment. Inoculation of AZ reduced dry gluten of flour in the Kouhdasht cultivar by 6.34%. The application of HA × AZ also significantly enhanced the concentration of essential amino acids of wheat grain and flour in both wheat cultivars by 7.24–11.6%. In similar treatments, the concentration of nutrient elements, dry gluten, protein and essential amino acids of the Chamran cultivar were higher than those in Kouhdasht cultivar. Therefore, it can be concluded that the combined application of HA and AZ can be a suitable recommendation for improving wheat quality.

Abstract Precise estimation of the physical properties of both ionic liquids (ILs) and their mixtures is crucial for engineers to successfully design new industrial processes. Among these properties, surface tension is especially important. It's not only necessary to have knowledge of the properties of pure ILs, but also of their mixtures to ensure optimal utilization in a variety of applications. In this regard, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Stochastic Gradient Boosting (SGB) tree in modeling surface tensions of binary mixtures of various ionic liquids (ILs) using a comprehensive dataset. The dataset comprised 4010 experimental data points from 48 different ILs and 20 non-IL components, covering a surface tension range of 0.0157-0.0727 N m

Abstract Objectives: Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery has been reported to be associated with lower postoperative plasma antioxidant and zinc levels. We hypothesized that perioperative supplementation of vitamin E and zinc might improve short-term postoperative outcomes.
Methods: In this placebo-controlled double-blind, randomized study, patients undergoing CABG performed with cardiopulmonary bypass were recruited. The intervention group received zinc and vitamin E supplementation (1200 IU vitamin E and 120 mg elemental zinc) the day before surgery, followed by postoperative daily supplementation of 30 mg zinc and 200 IU vitamin E from the 2nd day after surgery to 3 weeks. The control group received placebos. Length of stay (LOS) in the intensive care unit and hospital, sequential organ failure assessment score on 3rd day after surgery, and plasma inflammatory markers on days 3 and 21 post-surgery were evaluated.
Results: Seventy-eight patients completed the study (40 in the intervention group and 38 in the placebo group). The hospital LOS was significantly shorter (p < 0.05) in the intervention group. Postoperative changes in plasma albumin levels were not different between the two groups. The plasma zinc level was higher (p < 0.0001), but plasma C-reactive protein (p = 0.01), pentraxin 3 (p < 0.0001), interferon γ (p < 0.05), malondialdehyde (p < 0.05), and aspartate aminotransferase (p < 0.01) were lower in the intervention group compared to the placebo group.
Conclusions: Perioperative vitamin E and zinc supplementation significantly reduced hospital LOS and the inflammatory response in CABG surgery patients. In these patients, the optimal combination and dose of micronutrients need further study but could include zinc and vitamin E.
Clinical trial registry: This trial was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov website (NCT05402826).

Abstract The political analysis of contemporary Iran indicates that cognition of history of Governmentality transition (rational mentality of the State), has serious impact on mentality of social forces towards government. Iranian constitutional revolution had created first doubts about monarchical state and took traditional images about it under question. However, social and political disorders and anarchies at the period of post-constitutional revolution, reformed “governance crisis”, bounded will of transition in governmental rationality and moving to new governmental rationality. This new governmental rationality, reinforced situation for reappearance of totalitarian structure in Reza Shah discipline. Consequently, a new mentalities of monarchy had been affected clergy image and convinced them to adhere sympathetically for revival of absolute government as well as their sympathy for liberty and law in the years of constitutional revolution. Therefore, Iran social and political changes could be modeled in Graph of Sine which is full of willingness to change or acceptance of the authoritarian state. Main question of the article is that: what evolutions clergy mentality has experienced toward Monarchy, as the legitimate state, at the period of post-constitutional revolution? The main hypothesis, in the framework of Foucault concept of “Govern mentality”, is that clergy mentality of Monarchy legitimacy has been experienced three phases: adherence, criticism, and finally opposition. Accordingly, main goal of the article is to discover transition of clergy mentality of Monarchy, from post-constitutional revolution to Islamic Revolution.
