Agricultural automation is the emerging technologies which heavily rely on computer-integrated management and advanced control systems. The tedious farming tasks had been taken over by agricultural machines in last century, in new millennium, computer-aided systems, automation, and robotics has been applied to precisely manage agricultural production system. With agricultural automation technologies, sustainable agriculture is being developed based on efficient use of land, increased conservation of water, fertilizer and energy resources. The agricultural automation technologies refer to related areas in sensing & perception, reasoning & learning, data communication, and task planning & execution. Since the literature on this diverse subject is widely scattered, it is necessary to review current status and capture the future challenges through a comprehensive monograph. In this book we focus on agricultural automation and provide critical reviews of advanced control technologies, their merits and limitations, application areas and research opportunities for further development. This collection thus serves as an authoritative treatise that can help researchers, engineers, educators, and students in the field of sensing, control, and automation technologies for production agriculture.

Abstract With the development of medical imaging, the detection rate of pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCNs) has increased greatly. Serous cystic neoplasm, solid pseudopapillary neoplasm, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm and mucinous cystic neoplasm are the main subtypes of PCN, and their treatment options vary greatly due to the different biological behaviours of the tumours. Different from conventional qualitative imaging evaluation, radiomics is a promising noninvasive approach for the diagnosis, classification, and risk stratification of diseases involving high-throughput extraction of medical image features. We present a review of radiomics in the diagnosis of serous cystic neoplasm and mucinous cystic neoplasm, risk classification of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm and prediction of solid pseudopapillary neoplasm invasiveness compared to conventional imaging diagnosis. Radiomics is a promising tool in the field of medical imaging, providing a noninvasive, high-performance model for preoperative diagnosis and risk stratification of PCNs and improving prospects regarding management of these diseases. Further studies are warranted to investigate MRI image radiomics in connection with PCNs to improve the diagnosis and treatment strategies in the management of PCN patients.

Abstract The fluorescent probe method has attracted significant research attention due to its high sensitivity and reproducibility in detecting bovine serum albumin (BSA). In this study, we constructed a fluorescent probe for BSA detection by assembling an amphiphilic organic fluorescent molecule, termed 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole (HBT-11), with BSA. In an aqueous solution, HBT-11 exhibited a weak fluorescence emission at 501 nm. However, the addition of BSA substantially enhanced the fluorescence emission at 501 nm, indicating that the assembly was driven by electrostatic interactions between HBT-11 and BSA. HBT-11, serving as a fluorescent probe for BSA detection, demonstrated a limit of detection (LOD) as low as 3.92 nmol L

Abstract To decrease the interference in the process of epileptic feature extraction caused by insufficient detection capability in partial channels of focal epilepsy, this paper proposes a novel epilepsy detection method based on dynamic electroencephalogram (EEG) channel screening. This method not only extracts more effective epilepsy features but also finds common features among different epilepsy subjects, providing an effective approach and theoretical support for across-subject epilepsy detection in clinical scenarios. Firstly, we use the Refine Composite Multiscale Dispersion Entropy (RCMDE) to measure the complexity of EEG signals between normal and seizure states and realize the dynamic EEG channel screening among different subjects, which can enhance the capability of feature extraction and the robustness of epilepsy detection. Subsequently, we discover common epilepsy features in 3-15 Hz among different subjects by the screened EEG channels. By this finding, we construct the Residual Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory (ResCon-LSTM) neural network to accomplish across-subject epilepsy detection. The experiment results on the CHB-MIT dataset indicate that the highest accuracy of epilepsy detection in the single-subject experiment is 98.523 %, improved by 5.298 % compared with non-channel screening. In the across-subject experiment, the average accuracy is 96.596 %. Therefore, this method could be effectively applied to different subjects by dynamically screening optimal channels and keep a good detection performance.
