    Abstract Objective: The volatile components of the Hui formula "Ha Hei Lili" were extracted by steam distillation extraction (SD) and supercritical CO2 fluid extraction, and the structures were analyzed and identified by GC-MS.
    Methods: The GC-MS conditions were set as follows: Rxi-5Sil MS quartz capillary column (30 m x 0.25 mm, 0.25 μm), the initial temperature of 50 degrees C to keep 1 min, to 10 degrees C/min heating to 120 degrees C, maintained 3 min, then to 3 degrees C/min heating to 200 degrees C, maintained 3 min, and then to 5 degreesC/min heating to 290 degrees C, maintained until completion of analysis; helium as the carrier gas, column flow rate 1.0 ml/min, split ratio 25: 1, inlet temperature 250 degrees C, EI ionization source 70 eV, ion source temperature 230 degrees C, scan range of m/z 35 - 500.
    Results: Yield of volatile oil were 0.21% and 5.44% extracted by SD and SFE methods, respectively; and for SD method, 36 kinds of compounds were identified, accounted for 87.02% of total mass of volatile oil; for SFE method, 38 kinds of constituents were identified, accounted for 97.47% of total mass of volatile oil.
    Conclusion: The type of constituents contained in the volatile oil extracted by SD and SFE methods are totally different; and GC-MS can be used to identify the structures and relative content of volatile components, the results of this study can provide an experimental basis for development and utilization of Hui formula "Ha Hei Lili".

    Abstract Objective: To demonstrate the improvement effect of modified early warning score (MEWS)-based on graded nursing (different levels of care are given according to the assessment of the severity, seriousness, urgency and self-care ability of the patient) on the outcome and quality of life (QoL) of emergency car accident patients.
    Methods: A prospective non-randomized controlled trial was conducted on 103 emergency car accident patients admitted between May 2020 and May 2021. Among them, 57 patients received MEWS-based graded nursing and were regarded as the research group (RG), while the other 46 patients received routine nursing and were regarded as the control group (CG). The Symptom Check List-90 (SCL-90), the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), and the Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Checklist-Civilian version (PCL-C) scoring surveys were administered before and after care, respectively. Nursing satisfaction was investigated when patients were discharged from the hospital. Then, patient outcomes were followed up for one year to evaluate patients' QoL by the Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 (GQOL-74).
    Results: SCL-90, VAS, and PCL-C were lower, and satisfaction with care was higher after RG treatment compared to CG (P < .05). The incidence of adverse events during treatment was lower in RG than in CG (P < .05). In addition, PCL-C scores were also lower in RG than in CG (P < .05).
    Conclusion: MEWS-based graded nursing can effectively mitigate the NEs and PTSD of emergency car accident patients and improve their outcomes and QoL.

    Abstract China is actively encouraging households to replace traditional solid fuels with clean energy. Based on the Chinese Families Panel Survey (CFPS) data, this paper uses propensity scores matching with the difference-in-differences model to examine the impact of clean energy in the household sector on residents' health status, and whether such an energy transition promotes health equity by favoring relatively disadvantaged social groups. The results show that: (1) The use of cleaner cooking fuels can significantly improve residents' health status; (2) The older adult and women have higher health returns from the clean energy transition, demonstrating that, from the perspective of age and gender, the energy transition contributes to the promotion of health equity; (3) The clean energy transition has a lower or insignificant health impact on residents who cannot easily obtain clean energy or replace non-clean energy at an affordable price. Most of these individuals live in low-income, energy-poor, or rural households. Thus, the energy transition exacerbates health inequalities. This paper suggests that to reduce the cost of using clean energy and help address key issues in health inequality, Chinese government efforts should focus on improving the affordability, accessibility, and reliability of clean energy.

    Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a global public health challenge. While primary glomerular disease (PGD) is one of the leading causes of CKD, the specific pathogenesis of PGD is still unclear. Accurate diagnosis relies largely on invasive renal biopsy, which carries risks of bleeding, pain, infection and kidney vein thrombosis. Problems with the biopsy procedure include lack of glomeruli in the tissue obtained, and the sampling site not being reflective of the overall lesion in the kidney. Repeated renal biopsies to monitor disease progression cannot be performed because of the significant risks of bleeding and kidney vein thrombosis. On the other hand, urine collection, a noninvasive method, can be performed repeatedly, and urinary proteins can reflect pathological changes in the urinary system. Advancements in proteomics technologies, especially mass spectrometry, have facilitated the identification of candidate biomarkers in different pathological types of PGD. Such biomarkers not only provide insights into the pathogenesis of PGD but also are important for diagnosis, monitoring treatment, and prognosis. In this review, we summarize the findings from studies that have used urinary proteomics, among other omics screens, to identify potential biomarkers for different types of PGD. Moreover, we performed an in-depth bioinformatic analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the biological processes and protein-protein interaction networks in which these candidate biomarkers may participate. This review, including a description of an integrated analysis method, is intended to provide insights into the pathogenesis, noninvasive diagnosis, and personalized treatment efforts of PGD and other associated diseases.

    Abstract ObjectiveThis study examines whether the experience of unmet healthcare needs in a large sample of Chinese adults aged 60 and over is associated with adverse health outcomes, and how this association varied across needs related to health conditions.Study designThe 2013 wave of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study is examined. We adopted latent class analysis to identify groups based on health conditions. Then in each identified group, we examined the extent to which unmet needs were associated with self-rated health and depression. To understand the channels through which unmet needs adversely affected health outcomes, we examined the impact of unmet needs attributed to various factors.ResultsCompared to the mean, experiencing unmet outpatient needs is associated with a 3.4% decrease in self-rated health, and people are twice as likely to have depression symptoms (OR = 2.06). Health problems are even more severe when inpatient needs are not met. The frailest people are most affected by affordability-related unmet needs, while healthy people are most affected by unmet needs attributable to availability.ConclusionTo tackle unmet needs, direct measures for particular populations will be required in the future.

    Abstract Interface engineering has proven to be a highly efficient strategy for modulating the physicochemical properties of electrocatalysts and further enhancing their electrochemical performance in related energy applications. In this context, the newly proposed crystalline-amorphous (c-a) heterostructures with unusual atomic arrangements at interfaces show strong competitiveness. Nonetheless, few efforts have been made to reveal and summarize the structure-activity relationship at the two-phase interface and the corresponding electrocatalytic mechanism. This concept is devoted to comprehensively discussing the fundamental characteristics of crystalline-amorphous electrocatalysts and their application in the field of energy conversion with typical examples. In addition, the development prospects and opportunities of crystalline-amorphous heterostructure are summarized to provide potential development directions for other types of clean energy development.
