Abstract 【Objective】The study was conducted to develop a slow-release fertilizer with multiple nutrients, excellent nitrogen slow-release performance, simple process, and semi-interpenetrating network structure.【Method】By using solution polymerization with in situ extrusion technology, the polymerization and processing processes were combined. With amino acid powder (AARP) and ferrous sulfate (FeSO4) as raw materials, AARP and AARPFe were compounded with urea-formaldehyde (UF) macromolecular chains to form slow-release fertilizers with semi-interpenetrating network structures (AARP-UF and AARPFe-UF). The structures of the slow-release fertilizers were characterized and analyzed by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetry, and the surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The compression strength and nitrogen nutrient release rate in still water and soil were measured to investigate the effects of adding AARP and AARPFe on the slow-release performance and to analyze the reasons for their performance improvement.【Result】The crystallinity of the three slow-release fertilizers UF, AARP-UF, and AARPFe-UF were 67.9%, 59.2%, and 57.4%, respectively, and the compression strengths were 1.64, 3.01 and 4.06 MPa. The initial nitrogen release rates in still water were 24.8%, 18.6%, and 15.1% respectively, and the cumulative release rates in soil after 90-day-treatment were 55.9%, 51.4%, and 46.3%, respectively. The addition of AARP and AARPFe disrupted the crystal structure of UF molecular chains and formed hydrogen bonding interactions, which reduced the crystallinity of the slow-release fertilizer, increased the compression strength, and significantly improved the nitrogen slow-release performance. Combining all the results, the effect of slow-release fertilizer AARPFe-UF was optimal.【Conclusion】The prepared new slow-release fertilizer solves the problem of the high initial nitrogen release rate of urea-formaldehyde fertilizer and avoids the waste of resources. The fertilizer ...

Abstract Background: Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a complex allergic condition frequently accompanied by various atopic comorbidities in children, which significantly affects their life qualities. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate pivotal molecular markers that may facilitate the diagnosis of EoE in pediatric patients.
Methods: Three available EoE-associated gene expression datasets in children: GSE184182, GSE 197702, GSE55794, along with GSE173895 were downloaded from the GEO database. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) identified by "limma" were intersected with key module genes identified by weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and the shared genes went through functional enrichment analysis. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and the machine learning algorithms: least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), random forest (RF), and XGBoost were used to reveal candidate diagnostic markers for EoE. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve showed the efficacy of differential diagnosis of this marker, along with online databases predicting its molecular regulatory network. Finally, we performed gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and assessed immune cell infiltration of EoE/control samples by using the CIBERSORT algorithm. The correlations between the key diagnostic biomarker and immune cells were also investigated.
Results: The intersection of 936 DEGs and 1446 key module genes in EoE generated 567 genes, which were primarily enriched in immune regulation. Following the construction of the PPI network and filtration by machine learning, CXCR2 served as a potential diagnostic biomarker of pediatric EoE with a perfect diagnostic efficacy (AUC = ~1.00) in regional tissue/peripheral whole blood samples. Multiple infiltrated immune cells were observed to participate in disrupting the homeostasis of esophageal epithelium to varying degrees.
Conclusion: The immune-correlated CXCR2 gene was proved to be a promising diagnostic indicator for EoE, and dysregulated regulatory T cells (Tregs)/neutrophils might play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of EoE in children.

Abstract Fufang Meidengmu (FFMDM) is an ethnic herbal medicine form Yunnan province of China, which is often used for the treatment of uterine leiomyoma (UL). Combined Gancao (Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch.) and Haizao (Sargassum pallidum (Turn.) C.Ag) in FFMDM represent an herbal pair in the so-called "eighteen antagonistic medicaments" according to traditional Chinese medicine. In this study, we explored the prevention and treatment effects of FFMDM component compatibility on UL in mice. Female Kunming mice were injected for different periods of time with different concentrations of estradiol benzoate (EB) to investigate a feasible method to establish a mice model of UL. Treatment with 0.3mg/kg EB for 15 days was found to be the optimal condition for UL mice models. We then investigate the role of Gancao and Haizao in FFMDM, and explored the underlying mechanism of action of UL mice. Our findings suggested that Gancao and Haizao exerted the favorable effects. In addition, FFMDM is effective in the treatment of UL, and its mechanism was associated with the estrogen (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR).

Abstract Purpose: Concrete epidemiological evidence has suggested the mutually-contributing effect respectively between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and periodontitis (PD); however, their shared crosstalk mechanism remains an open issue.
Method: The NAFLD, PD, and T2DM-related datasets were obtained from the NCBI GEO repository. Their common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified and the functional enrichment analysis performed by the DAVID platform determined relevant biological processes and pathways. Then, the STRING database established a PPI network of such DEGs and topological analysis through Cytoscape 3.7.1 software along with the machine-learning analysis by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm screened out hub characteristic genes. Their efficacy was validated by external datasets using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and gene expression and location of the most robust one was determined using single-cell sequencing and immunohistochemical staining. Finally, the promising drugs were predicted through the CTD database, and the CB-DOCK 2 and Pymol platform mimicked molecular docking.
Result: Intersection of differentially expressed genes from three datasets identified 25 shared DEGs of the three diseases, which were enriched in MHC II-mediated antigen presenting process. PPI network and LASSO machine-learning analysis determined 4 feature genes, of which the MS4A6A gene mainly expressed by macrophages was the hub gene and key immune cell type. Molecular docking simulation chosen fenretinide as the most promising medicant for MS4A6A
    Conclusion: MS4A6A
