Abstract In order to investigate the pollution characteristics of stormwater runoff in the southern developed rural region, the runoff samples were collected from four different underlying surfaces during three storm events in Caoqiao and Pujia Tou, which are two typical villages and are located in Yuhang District of Hangzhou. The content of nutrition (nitrogen and phosphorus) and heavy metals (Mn, Cu, Zn, Ni, Cr, Cd, As, Pb) in the simples were analyzed, and the difference of EMC ( event mean concentration) and pollution load of the contaminants in the runoff on different underlying surfaces were compared. The results showed that the EMC of TSS, COD, NH4(+)-N, TP and TN were 16.19, 21.01, 0.74, 1.39 and 2.39 mg x L(-1) in the Caoqiao, respectively; as to Pujia Tou, they were 3.10, 15.69, 0.90, 0.78 and 3.58 mg x L(-1), respectively. The content of heavy metals was all lower than the national surface water quality of two type water in the runoff. Compared with the quality standards for surface water, the EMC of TP was 9 times and 3. 5 times higher and TN was 1. 8 times and 1. 2 times higher in two areas. Besides, the pollution loads of TSS and COD were the highest in farmland.

Abstract A long-standing controversy exists concerning the spatial and temporal characteristics of Holocene climate change in China. Zhejiang is located in the southeast of China, where the East Asian monsoon dominates the climate and a Neolithic culture flourished. In recent years, geographers have debated the climatic conditions existing at the time of the Neolithic cultures. This study reconstructed the sedimentary environment between 11.30 and 4.17 cal ka BP based on a multi-proxy analysis of a 14.3 meter sediment core, drilled in Beihuqiao, Zhejiang Province, China. The results show: (1) The climate was getting warm between 11.50 and 8.77 cal ka BP. Grain size became finer from the bottom to the top layer, accompanied by an increase in the chemical index of alteration (CIA), Mg/Sr ratio, the percentage of clay, pollen concentrations, and a decrease in SiO₂/Al₂O₃ ratio, and the value of bases–alumina (ba), as well as other trace elements. (2) Between 8.77 and 7.99 cal ka BP, the sediment is composed of gray-yellow and gray silt. The percentage of CaO and the ratio of CaO + Na₂O + K₂O to Al₂O₃ is much higher. The pollen concentration sharply decreases. The climate was cold and dry in the early stages of this period, but became relatively warmer and wetter in the later stages. (3) The Holocene Climatic Optimum occurred at 7.99–5.68 cal ka BP. Higher contents of clay, total Fe₂O₃, Al₂O₃, CIA, the chemical proxy of alteration, pollen concentration, evergreen pollens, and high values of Mg/Sr are observed at this stage, coinciding with a lower SiO₂/Al₂O₃ value, (CaO + Na₂O + K₂O)/Al₂O₃ ratio, and an obvious reduction in silt/clay, and SiO₂ and CaO concentrations. (4) During the period 5.68–4.17 cal ka BP, the temperature in the study area declined in a stepwise fashion. The grain size became finer, and the Mg/Sr ratio decreased gradually.

Abstract The grey wolf optimization algorithm (GWO) is a new metaheuristic algorithm. The GWO has the advantages of simple structure, few parameters to adjust, and high efficiency, and has been applied in various optimization problems. However, the orginal GWO search process is guided entirely by the best three wolves, resulting in low population diversity, susceptibility to local optima, slow convergence rate, and imbalance in development and exploration. In order to address these shortcomings, this paper proposes an adaptive dynamic self-learning grey wolf optimization algorithm (ASGWO). First, the convergence factor was segmented and nonlinearized to balance the global search and local search of the algorithm and improve the convergence rate. Second, the wolves in the original GWO approach the leader in a straight line, which is too simple and ignores a lot of information on the path. Therefore, a dynamic logarithmic spiral that nonlinearly decreases with the number of iterations was introduced to expand the search range of the algorithm in the early stage and enhance local development in the later stage. Then, the fixed step size in the original GWO can lead to algorithm oscillations and an inability to escape local optima. A dynamic self-learning step size was designed to help the algorithm escape from local optima and prevent oscillations by reasonably learning the current evolution success rate and iteration count. Finally, the original GWO has low population diversity, which makes the algorithm highly susceptible to becoming trapped in local optima. A novel position update strategy was proposed, using the global optimum and randomly generated positions as learning samples, and dynamically controlling the influence of learning samples to increase population diversity and avoid premature convergence of the algorithm. Through comparison with traditional algorithms, such as GWO, PSO, WOA, and the new variant algorithms EOGWO and SOGWO on 23 classical test functions, ASGWO can effectively improve the convergence accuracy and convergence speed, and has a strong ability to escape from local optima. In addition, ASGWO also has good performance in engineering problems (gear train problem, ressure vessel problem, car crashworthiness problem) and feature selection.

Abstract The initial melting quality of a high-speed laser cladding layer has an important impact on its post-treatment and practical application. In this study, based on the repair of hydraulic support columns of coal mining machines, the influence of high-speed laser cladding process parameters on the quality of Fe-Cr-Ni alloy coatings was investigated to realize the accurate prediction of coating quality.
