    Abstract Uterine leiomyomas, more commonly known as fibroids, are the most common neoplasms of the uterus. These tumors have a profound effect on health care and cost worldwide. Depending on the race, uterine leiomyomas can be seen in 70-80% of all women. Although majority of the women with uterine leiomyomas remain asymptomatic, approximately 30% can present with symptoms. Diagnosing typical leiomyomas on imaging is straightforward. However, when large, located extrauterine and especially with degeneration, the diagnosis can be challenging on imaging. In this article, apart from reviewing the demographics and management of patients with leiomyomas, we describe in detail the imaging appearance of various atypical leiomyomas, uncommon locations outside the uterus and their important differential diagnosis that can have a profound effect on patient management.

    Abstract The outbreak of COVID-19 has become a globally concerning pandemic having affected more than 5 million people worldwide. The disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is highly contagious. Only limited literature exists on the evaluation and management of pregnant women with suspected or confirmed COVID-19. In this short commentary, we inform the readers of the potential role of chest CT in symptomatic COVID-19 pregnant women and the related limitations.

    Abstract Background: Amoebiasis is a prevalent infection in the tropics. Amoebic liver abscess is the most common extraintestinal manifestation. Cardiac tamponade is an uncommon complication of amoebic liver abscess that may need urgent pericardiocentesis.
    Case summary: A 25-year-old man presented with abdominal pain and fever for 1 month. Abdominal ultrasound revealed a 4.7 × 4.7 cm abscess in the left lobe of the liver. Percutaneous pigtail drainage was performed to evacuate the abscess. After 2 days, the patient developed signs of cardiac tamponade and bilateral pleural effusion, requiring urgent pericardiocentesis and chest drain insertion. Persistent posterior collection of thick abscess in pericardium needed pericardial window for complete drainage. The patient recovered completely after pericardial window. There was no evidence of chronic constrictive pericarditis after 1 year of follow-up.
    Discussion: A rare complication of the amoebic liver abscess was observed in this young adult who developed cardiac tamponade, requiring an urgent pericardiocentesis, and later requiring pericardial window. Management includes amoebicidal and luminicidal drugs for complete eradication of

The disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is highly contagious. Only limited literature exists on the evaluation and management of pregnant women with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.     Abstract Introduction: Recurrent chromosome 16p13.11 microduplication has been characterised in the literature as a cause of developmental delay, learning difficulties and behavioural abnormalities. It is a neurosusceptibility locus and has incomplete penetrance and variable expression. Other clinical features, such as cardiac abnormalities have also been reported. The duplicated region contains the MYH11 gene, which encodes the protein myosin-11 and is a component of the myosin heavy chain in smooth muscle. Recent literature has suggested 16p13.11 microduplication as one of the possible risk factors for thoracic aortic aneurysms and dissection (TAAD). Therefore, we studied the detailed phenotype of cases of chromosome 16p13.11 microduplication from seven centres in the United Kingdom (UK) to expand the phenotype, focusing on the cardiac abnormalities.
    Methods: All individuals with a chromosome 16p13.11 microduplication seen in Clinical Genetics prior to June 2017 in 6 centres (prior to 2018 in the seventh centre) were identified through the regional genetics laboratory databases. A Microsoft Excel® proforma was created and clinical data was collected retrospectively from clinical genetics databases from the seven genetics services in the UK. The data was collated and analysed collectively.
    Results: The majority of the individuals presented with (72%) developmental delay and (62%) behavioural abnormalities, in keeping with the published literature. 27% had some dysmorphic features, 14% had visual impairment and 8% had congenital cardiac abnormalities. Echocardiograms were performed in 50% of patients, and only 3.8% patients had aortic dilatation and no one had aortic dissection. 9.7% of patients were found to have a second genetic/chromosomal diagnosis, especially where there were additional phenotypic features.
    Conclusion: 16p13.11 microduplication is a neurosusceptibility locus and is associated with variable expression. It may be helpful to refer children with 16p13.11 microduplication for a cardiac review for congenital cardiac abnormalities and also for ophthalmological assessment. Further prospective studies with cardiac assessments are recommended in this cohort of patients to determine whether ongoing aortic surveillance is indicated. Guidelines about the frequency of surveillance are indicated, especially in individuals with normal cardiac findings. We also highlight the importance of considering a second diagnosis if the phenotype is inconsistent with that reported.

    Abstract Sudden emergence and rapid spread of COVID-19 created an inevitable need for expansion of the COVID-19 laboratory testing network across the world. The strategy to test-track-treat was advocated for quick detection and containment of the disease. Being the second most populous country in the world, India was challenged to make COVID-19 testing available and accessible in all parts of the country. The molecular laboratory testing network was augmented expeditiously, and number of laboratories was increased from one in January 2020 to 2951 till mid-September, 2021. This rapid expansion warranted the need to have inbuilt systems of quality control/ quality assurance. In addition to the ongoing inter-laboratory quality control (ILQC), India implemented an External Quality Assurance Program (EQAP) with assistance from World Health Organization (WHO) and Royal College of Pathologists, Australasia. Out of the 953 open system rRTPCR laboratories in both public and private sector who participated in the first round of EQAP, 891(93.4%) laboratories obtained a passing score of > = 80%. The satisfactory performance of Indian COVID-19 testing laboratories has boosted the confidence of the public and policy makers in the quality of testing. ILQC and EQAP need to continue to ensure adherence of the testing laboratories to the desired quality standards.

    Abstract The organo-osmium complex [OsII(ɳ6-p-cym)(PhAzPy-NMe2)I]+ (FY26) exhibits promising in vitro antitumour activity against mouse hepatocarcinoma Hepa1-6 and other mouse or human cancer cell lines. Here, we drastically enhance water solubility of FY26 through the replacement of the PF6- counter-anion with chloride using a novel synthesis method. FY26⋅PF6 and FY26⋅Cl displayed similar in vitro cytotoxicity in two cancer cell models. We then show the moderate and late anticancer efficacy of FY26⋅PF6 and FY26⋅Cl in a subcutaneous murine hepatocarcinoma mouse model. Both efficacy and tolerability varied according to FY26 circadian dosing time in hepatocarcinoma tumour-bearing mice. Tumour and liver uptake of the drug were determined over 48 h following FY26⋅Cl administration at Zeitgeber time 6 (ZT6), when the drug is least toxic (in the middle of the light span when mice are resting). Our studies suggest the need to administer protracted low doses of FY26 at ZT6 in order to optimize its delivery schedule, for example through the use of chrono-releasing nanoparticles.
