Abstract COVID-19 is emerging as a global pandemic and is a complex disease presenting with multi-organ involvement. Acute haemorrhagic necrotizing encephalopathy (AHNE) is a rarely reported phenomenon post-COVID-19 but is a rapidly progressing, fatal, haemorrhagic necrosis of the CNS parenchyma. Here, we present a very interesting case of a cirrhotic male patient with AHNE with COVID-19. Diagnosis of AHNE requires a multimodality approach and high index of suspicion in a patient suffering from SARS-CoV-2. Timely intervention and diagnosis may lead to a favourable outcome in the diagnosed cases. Future detailed studies in this direction may give an insight into this rare but important disease entity.

Abstract Background: A combination of poor oral health status and malnourishment ultimately affect the quality of life of the person. Hence, these tools may help in identifying individuals at risk of poor quality of life and malnutrition caused by oral problems especially in adolescents.
Objective: To test the association between dental caries, nutritional status and Oral Health Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) in 12-15 year-old school going adolescents.
Study design: A cross sectional study was conducted on 12-15-year-old school going adolescents. A total of 1214 adolescents participated in the study. Data on quality of life was collected using OHIP-14 and clinical examination was done to assess the DMFT status and Body Mass Index (BMI) as measure of nutritional status of the subjects.
Results: DMFT was found to be positively correlated with total OHIP score, however BMI was negatively correlated with OHIP. Controlling for BMI, partial correlation analysis revealed that there is a weak association between OHIP and DMFT scores which was found to be statistically significant.
Conclusion: Both caries experience and nutrition status had significant impact on Quality of Life. All the three parameters were found to be correlated to each other.

Abstract Ascaris lumbricoides and Strongyloides stercoralis are soil-transmitted helminthic infections usually seen in people with poor socioeconomic conditions, hygiene and fecal sanitation living in endemic countries. Here, we present a case of coinfection in a COVID-positive older adult male presenting to our facility with symptoms of acute abdomen. Investigative workup guided timely diagnosis of the case. Prompt initiation of antihelminthic drugs together with antibiotics/antivirals for COVID symptoms resulted in favorable outcome in the case. A high index of suspicion on the part of the treating and diagnosing doctor is required in the COVID era. This will help not only in diagnosis but will also give an understanding of the exact pathogenesis for better patient outcome.
