    Abstract Lei Feng’s cultural tourist souvenirs are designed to meet the aesthetic needs of the young people.     Abstract Objective: Hua-Feng-Dan (HFD) is a Chinese medicine for stroke. This study is to predict and verify potential molecular targets and pathways of HFD against stroke using network pharmacology.
    Methods: The TCMSP database and TCMID were used to search for the active ingredients of HFD, and GeneCards and DrugBank databases were used to search for stroke-related target genes to construct the "component-target-disease" by Cytoscape 3.7.1, which was further filtered by MCODE to build a core network. The STRING database was used to obtain interrelationships by topology and to construct a protein-protein interaction network. GO and KEGG were carried out through DAVID Bioinformatics. Autodock 4.2 was used for molecular docking. BaseSpace was used to correlate target genes with the GEO database.
    Results: Based on OB ≥ 30% and DL ≥ 0.18, 42 active ingredients were extracted from HFD, and 107 associated targets were obtained. PPI network and Cytoscape analysis identified 22 key targets. GO analysis suggested 51 cellular biological processes, and KEGG suggested that 60 pathways were related to the antistroke mechanism of HFD, with p53, PI3K-Akt, and apoptosis signaling pathways being most important for HFD effects. Molecular docking verified interactions between the core target (CASP8, CASP9, MDM2, CYCS, RELA, and CCND1) and the active ingredients (beta-sitosterol, luteolin, baicalein, and wogonin). The identified gene targets were highly correlated with the GEO biosets, and the stroke-protection effects of Xuesaitong in the database were verified by identified targets.
    Conclusion: HFD could regulate the symptoms of stroke through signaling pathways with core targets. This work provided a bioinformatic method to clarify the antistroke mechanism of HFD, and the identified core targets could be valuable to evaluate the antistroke effects of traditional Chinese medicines.

    Abstract The shallow neural network (SNN) is a popular algorithm in atmospheric parameters retrieval from microwave remote sensing. However, the deep neural network (DNN) has a stronger nonlinear mapping capability compared to SNN and has great potential for applications in microwave remote sensing. The Microwave Humidity and Temperature Sounder (Beijing, China, MWHTS) onboard the Fengyun-3 (FY-3) satellite has the ability to independently retrieve atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles. A study on the application of DNN in retrieving atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles from MWHTS was carried out. Three retrieval schemes of atmospheric parameters in microwave remote sensing based on DNN were performed in the study of bias correction of MWHTS observation and the retrieval of the atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles using MWHTS observations. The experimental results show that, compared with SNN, DNN can obtain better bias-correction results when applied to MWHTS observation, and can obtain higher retrieval accuracy of temperature and humidity profiles in all three retrieval schemes. Meanwhile, DNN shows higher stability than SNN when applied to the retrieval of temperature and humidity profiles. The comparative study of DNN and SNN applied in different atmospheric parameter retrieval schemes shows that DNN has a more superior performance.

    Abstract Taking the mausoleums in the main urban area of Nanjing city as the study object, with the support of GIS technology, this paper extracts eight influencing factors (surface roughness, elevation, surface cutting depth, surface peaks, outfall, river system, slope, and aspect) corresponding to geomantic elements (“Long”, “Sha”, “Shui”, and “Xue”) in the geographical environments of mausoleums. The AHP is applied in the correlation weight method to calculate the weights of the eight influencing factors, while the information content method is applied in the grading method to calculate the numerical index of each factor. The feng shui (geomantic) suitability of the mausoleums in the main urban area of Nanjing is evaluated using the AHP-weighted information content method and by combining expert knowledge and experience with mathematical statistical techniques. According to the feng shui (geomantic) suitability evaluation results obtained for the mausoleums in the study area, the relatively low-suitability area accounts for 14.55% of the entire study area, the low-suitability area accounts for 25.40%, the suitable area accounts for 29.13%, the relatively high-suitability area accounts for 22.00%, and the high-suitability area accounts for 8.92%. Finally, through a sensitivity analysis of the model, a verification analysis applied using random mausoleums and a feng shui (geomantic) analysis of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the feng shui (geomantic) suitability evaluation results obtained for the mausoleums analyzed herein are found to be consistent with the actual distribution of the mausoleum sites. The research shows that the AHP-weighted information method based on GIS is suitable for evaluating the feng shui (geomantic) suitability of mausoleums.

    Abstract Seed yield and nutritional quality are dependent on seed development in oil crops. In a previous study, we showed that light shading improved seed yield and quality in oilseed peony, but the underlying mechanisms driving light shading impacts on seed yield and nutritional quality as mediated through seed development remain unclear. To develop an understanding of these mechanisms, oilseed peony trees were shaded by different density polyethylene nets starting at 28 days after pollination (DAP) and continuing until harvest. The seed volume, weight, and nutritional quality parameters, as well as the expression of genes related to the synthesis of unsaturated fatty acids (UFAs), were examined at 14-day intervals. Results showed that hundred-seed volume (Vh), fresh weight (Wf), and dry weight (Wd) increased by 8.2, 15.2, and 33.0 times, respectively, from 14 to 70 DAP. During the same period, the contents of starch, soluble protein, crude oil, and UFAs increased by 2.8, 3.7, 20.4, and 21.1 times, respectively. From 71 to 98 DAP, Vh, Wf, and Wd increased by 4.1, 5.4, and 20.8%, respectively. During this period, the contents of soluble protein, crude oil, and UFAs increased by 36.8, 51.4, and 49.5%, respectively. From 99 to 112 DAP, Vh, Wf, and Wd slightly increased, and the content of soluble protein increased by 25.2%. In contrast, the contents of soluble sugar, starch, and crude oil decreased by 28.3, 15.1, and 6.3%, respectively. Thus, seed development of oilseed peony can be divided into three periods of rapid growth (before 70 DAP), slow growth (71–98 DAP), and maturation (99–112 DAP). At 98 DAP, light shading increased the content of soluble sugar by 8.3%. At 112 DAP, light shading increased Vh, Wf, Wd, the content of crude oil, and UFAs by 6.9, 8.3, 8.3, 6.6, and 9.6%, respectively. The expression level of FAD2 in peony seed was up-regulated by 87.1 and 219.3% at 98 and 112 DAP, respectively. The expression level of FAD8 was up-regulated by 10.8, 71.7, 162.1, and 371.3% at 70, 84, 98, and 112 DAP, respectively. The expression level of SAD was up-regulated by 53.5 and 150.3% at 98 and 112 DAP, respectively. It is thus concluded that light shading significantly improved seed yield and nutritional quality parameters via increased seed growth and the expression of fatty acid desaturase genes during the slow growth and the maturation periods of seed development.

    Abstract Tree peony seed is unique for its super-high content of unsaturated fatty acid and is thus considered as an important source of woody oil. However, photosynthetic production is greatly reduced under high light intensity and air temperature during the seed filling period, which negatively affects seed yield and quality. The objective of this study was to determine if appropriate shading improves yield and quality of seed in oilseed peony. In this study, oilseed peony trees were shaded by different density polyethylene nets from four weeks after flowering to harvest stages to form light, moderate, and severe shadings, equivalent to about 80, 40, and 20% of full solar exposure, respectively. The effects of different shadings on some physiological parameters, yield and yield components, and nutritional composition of seed were examined. Averaged across two years, light shading increased the actual net photosynthetic rate (Pn) by 16.8%, the maximum net photosynthetic rate (Pmax) by 81.4%, chlorophyll (Chl) content by 52.8%, auxin (IAA) content by 38.1%, and gibberellic acid (GA3) content in leaves by 6.3%; it decreased the accumulation of H2O2 in leaves by 24.8%, malondialdehyde (MDA) by 22%, and endogenous abscisic acid (ABA) by 8.8%, indicating that leaf senescence in late season was considerably delayed. Light shading increased seed yield, and contents of crude fat and unsaturated fatty acids by 9.7, 5.6, and 9.6%, respectively, while moderate or severe shading significantly reduced all the three parameters. Light shading increased seed weight, but moderate or severe shading reduced seed weight or follicle density. The improved seed yield under light shading was mainly due to increased seed weight, while the reduced seed yield under moderate or severe shading was mainly attributed to reduce follicle density and seed weight.     Abstract Tree peony seed is unique for its super-high content of unsaturated fatty acid and is thus considered as an important source of woody oil. However, photosynthetic production is greatly reduced under high light intensity and air temperature during the seed filling period, which negatively affects seed yield and quality. The objective of this study was to determine if appropriate shading improves yield and quality of seed in oilseed peony. In this study, oilseed peony trees were shaded by different density polyethylene nets from four weeks after flowering to harvest stages to form light, moderate, and severe shadings, equivalent to about 80, 40, and 20% of full solar exposure, respectively. The effects of different shadings on some physiological parameters, yield and yield components, and nutritional composition of seed were examined. Averaged across two years, light shading increased the actual net photosynthetic rate (Pn) by 16.8%, the maximum net photosynthetic rate (Pmax) by 81.4%, chlorophyll (Chl) content by 52.8%, auxin (IAA) content by 38.1%, and gibberellic acid (GA3) content in leaves by 6.3%; it decreased the accumulation of H2O2 in leaves by 24.8%, malondialdehyde (MDA) by 22%, and endogenous abscisic acid (ABA) by 8.8%, indicating that leaf senescence in late season was considerably delayed. Light shading increased seed yield, and contents of crude fat and unsaturated fatty acids by 9.7, 5.6, and 9.6%, respectively, while moderate or severe shading significantly reduced all the three parameters. Light shading increased seed weight, but moderate or severe shading reduced seed weight or follicle density. The improved seed yield under light shading was mainly due to increased seed weight, while the reduced seed yield under moderate or severe shading was mainly attributed to reduce follicle density and seed weight. The improved seed weight and content of unsaturated fatty acids under light shading was possibly due to the delayed leaf senescence. The overall results indicated that light shading is beneficial to yield and quality parameters of seed in oilseed peony. Cultivating oilseed peony under a light shading environments such as partially closed forests would better increase total output and income per unit land area than that under full solar exposure.
