Abstract ‘Ruidu Hongmei’ is a new grape cultivar released by Beijing Institute of Forestry and Pomology Sciences, this paper introduced its breeding process, main characteristics and cultivated techniques. It was selected from a cross-combination of ‘Jingxiu’ x ‘Xiangfei’. It ripens in mid to late August in Beijing. Its cluster is conical and the compactness is moderate. The average weight of a single berry is 6.6 grams. The skin color is reddish purple. For the flesh, it is firm and crispy. The flavor is sweet with muscat flavor when the fruit is well ripened. The total soluble solids is 17.2 %. The yield is around 30 t/hm2. [AZ 407a]

Abstract Extracts of Jiuqu Hongmei tea were prepared using distilled water, 25% ethanol, 50% ethanol, and 75% ethanol, respectively, and their antioxidant activities and protective capacity on HUVEC cells from damage induced by Na2S2O3 were investigated. All tea extracts exhibited remarkable antioxidant activity, especially E2 extracted by 25% ethanol, Pearson correlation analysis indicated theaflavins, total phenolics, and soluble sugar could be the possible effective components (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, extracts prepared by 25% ethanol and 75% ethanol showed notable protective abilities on HUVEC cells injured by Na2S2O3. Considering the application in functional foods development, 25% ethanol was shown to be a better solvent for retaining phytochemicals of Jiuqu Hongmei tea in this study. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: This research focused on the investigation of the antioxidant activities and HUVEC cell protective ability of Jiuqu Hongmei tea extracts prepared by four solvents. Selection of an ideal solvent which can effectively extract the compounds from Jiuqu Hongmei tea is critical, as it determines the amount and type of different compounds extracted. Our findings indicate that the Jiuqu Hongmei tea extracts have remarkble antioxidant potential (1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl, ferric‐reducing antioxidant power, and 2,2′‐azino‐bis‐(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulphonic acid) diammonium salt assay), as well as notable protective ability on HUVEC cells injured by Na2S2O3, especially the 25% ethanol extract. Hence, the 25% ethanol extract of Jiuqu Hongmei tea may play a promising role in health benefits, nutraceutical, and functional foods development.

Abstract This book offers cutting-edge evidence on using rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) for the diagnosis of neoplastic diseases in pulmonology. ROSE has become an efficient interventional diagnostics tool and important reference for lung disease differentiation, increasing the adequacy rate, diagnostic yield and accuracy of interventional pulmonary procedures. By performing a rapid stain in the bronchoscopy suite, with evaluation by a trained physician, ROSE can be used to ensure the collection of suitable and sufficient material for ancillary studies in an era of caner-targeted therapy. ROSE holds considerable value in terms of evaluating sampling adequacy for further immunohistochemistry testing, microbiology studies, flow cytometry analysis, and molecular assays, providing a preliminary diagnosis for patient care. The first part of the book discusses the key principles for performing ROSE procedures and reviews key anatomical structures in the lung. It also covers typical cellular characteristics on the ROSE scale for pulmonary solid malignancies. The second part of the book features abundant figures and illustrations of ROSE cytopathology in common neoplastic diseases, e.g. adenocarcinoma, squamous-cell carcinoma and small cell lung cancer, while also exploring more unusual types, e.g. pneumonia-type carcinoma of the lung (PTCL), mucinous adenocarcinoma, lung mixed carcinoma, pulmonary metastases from extrapulmonary primary tumors, large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC), and lymphoma. This book is part of the 4-volume collection ROSE in Diagnostic Interventional Pulmonology.

Abstract Passive radiative cooling technology is an eco-friendly and energy-free alternative to conventional cooling systems. However, a major challenge in implementing radiative cooling in an outdoor environment is the presence of contamination, which significantly degrades the cooling effectiveness. In response to this challenge, researchers have explored superhydrophobic radiative coolers with self-cleaning abilities as a potential solution. In this Perspective, we summarize the latest progress and highlight certain design principles and strategies for integrating superhydrophobicity into radiative cooling structures. These strategies can be classified into three distinct categories: spraying particles, constructing pores, and creating patterns. Finally, we identify future challenges and opportunities in superhydrophobic radiative coolers, intending to push the technology toward practical applications.
