Abstract In the seasonal freeze-thaw region of China, the long-term freeze-thaw cycle (FTC) weakens the strength of the soil's structure leading to a series of geohazard events such as landslides and collapses. In order to understand the formation mechanism of the landslide during periods of freeze-thaw in the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP). In this study, we analyzed the evolution process of the microstructure and the strength combined with triaxial test, resistivity experiments and CT technology. Furthermore, we collected meteorological, irrigation, groundwater level and landslide data to discuss landslide inducing factors. The results show that (1) the FTC has a significant damage effect on the strength of the original loess. After 10 FTCs, the strength of the original loess with various moisture content (ωₘc) is reduced by at least 50%. The higher the ωₘc of the original loess sample, the greater the strength reduction and the more apparent the deterioration characteristics. (2) FTC causes the expansion of the pore structure, that gradually presents non-uniformity and complexity, resulting in the continuous increase of resistivity. The pore area of macropores and mesopores are the most significant feature after 10 FTCs, and the increase of pore structure leads to the gradual loosening of the soil structure, which reflects the essence of strength deterioration. (3) Fangtai 1# landslide has the typical characteristics of high-speed and long-distance. The primary movement period of the landslide was from 4 s to 30s, the maximum speed of the landslide was 20 m/s, and the apparent friction angle was 0.34. (4): The most direct inducing factor of the three consecutive landslides in the Fangtai village was a temperature change lasting >10 days. Through mechanical and microstructure analysis, we found that the increase of FTCs leading to soil strength damage is the trigger factor, especially in the slope softening zone, which promotes the frequent occurrence of landslides. The rise of groundwater level caused by irrigation is the fundamental condition for the formation of landslide, and the irrigation plan of the Heifangtai tableland needs to be paid reasonable attention.

Abstract Objective: To assess the iodine status of pregnant women, lactating women and babies and to understand if iodized salt as the main iodine source had met the need of people's demand in regions where iodized salt coverage rate had been over 90%, for the last five years.
Methods: Pregnant and lactating women, newborns and babies were selected randomly in region where iodized salt coverage rate had been more than 90%, for the five years. Urine iodine levels of pregnant and lactating women, newborns and babies, milk iodine of lactating women and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) of newborns were measured.
Results: The median urinary iodine (MUI) of people other than those recently pregnant women, had reached the MUI criterion recommended by WHO with the results as 174.18, 180.37, 147.42, 126.27, 145.26 microg/L, respectively. The percentage of TSH>5 pIU/ml of newborns was 14.5%. The median milk iodine of lactating women were in the range of 100-200 microg/L. The percentage of milk iodine < 150 microg/L of early lactating women was less than that of late lactating women (P < 0.01). There was a good correlation between urine iodine of babies and milk iodine of lactating women. The abnormal TSH of women was 15.4%. The abnormal TSH mainly existed in women whose urinary iodine level were lower than 150 microg/L.
Conclusion: Iodized salt as the main iodine source could basically meet the need of pregnant women, lactating women and babies whose diet structure was simple in the region. However, some people in the area were still under the status of iodine deficiency suggesting that surveillance should be enhanced in people who need more iodine and efficient measures, should be taken.

Abstract Federated learning enables the collaborative training of machine learning models across multiple organizations, eliminating the need for sharing sensitive data. Nevertheless, in practice, the data distributions among these organizations are often non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID), which poses significant challenges for traditional federated learning. To tackle this challenge, we present a hierarchical federated learning framework based on blockchain technology, which is designed to enhance the training of non-IID data., protect data privacy and security, and improve federated learning performance. The framework builds a global shared pool by constructing a blockchain system to reduce the non-IID degree of local data and improve model accuracy. In addition, we use smart contracts to distribute and collect models and design a main blockchain to store local models for federated aggregation, achieving decentralized federated learning. We train the MLP model on the MNIST dataset and the CNN model on the Fashion-MNIST and CIFAR-10 datasets to verify its feasibility and effectiveness. The experimental results show that the proposed strategy significantly improves the accuracy of decentralized federated learning on three tasks with non-IID data.
