    Abstract Background: Telmisartan is considered more potent than valsartan. Hemodynamic response during anesthesia induction may be influenced by anti-hypertension (HTN) medication. The present study compared the effect of anti-HTN medications on post-induction hypotension during noncardiac surgeries.
    Methods: This observational study standardized the anesthetic regimen across patients, with hypotension defined as mean blood pressure (BP) of less than 65 mmHg. The hemodynamic changes within 5 min before and after endotracheal intubation, and within 10 min before and after surgical incision were measured. Transthoracic echocardiographic evaluation of the left ventricle (LV) during anesthesia induction was performed. The primary endpoint was the decline in mean BP after anesthetic administration in telmisartan and valsartan groups. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify predictors of post-induction hypotension.
    Results: Data from 157 patients undergoing noncardiac surgery were analyzed. No significant differences were found in mean BP decline between the two groups during anesthesia induction. Hemodynamic changes and LV ejection fraction (EF) during anesthesia induction were similar between the groups. Age and preoperative initial mean BP in operation room (OR) were associated with post-induction hypotension in both groups.
    Conclusions: The angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) type did not influence post-induction hypotension during anesthesia induction. Age and preoperative initial mean BP in OR were associated with post-induction hypotension in patients taking ARBs.

    Abstract In this study, we demonstrated the effective separation of charge carriers within the IGZO/IZO heterostructure by incorporating IZO. We have chosen IGZO for its high mobility and excellent on-off switching behavior in the front channel of our oxide-oxide heterostructure. Similarly, for an additional oxide layer, we have selected IZO due to its outstanding electrical properties. The optimized optoelectronic characteristics of the IGZO/IZO phototransistors were identified by adjusting the ratio of In:Zn in the IZO layer. As a result, the most remarkable traits were observed at the ratio of In:Zn = 8:2. Compared to the IGZO single-layer phototransistor, the IGZO/IZO(8:2) phototransistor showed improved photoresponse characteristics, with photosensitivity and photoresponsivity values of 1.00 × 10

    Abstract This study analyzed the flavor of six types of hemp seed oil (HSO) extracted with roasted hemp seed (RHS) under various conditions (Raw, 140 °C_9 min, 140 °C_12 min, 160 °C_12 min, 180 °C_6 min). Electronic tongue (E-tongue), electronic nose (E-nose), GC-MS (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry), and GC-O (gas chromatography-olfactometry) were used for HSO flavor analysis. As a result of the E-tongue analysis, the sweetness tends to increase in most samples as roasting. A total of 89 and 77 volatile compounds were detected through E-nose and GC-MS, and the main volatile compounds were identified as Maillard reaction products. A total of 16 odor active compounds were detected in the GC-O analysis, and in the case of 160 ℃_12 min and 180 ℃_6 min, the scent of Roasted hemp seed oil was more dominant than other aroma profiles. The results of this study are basic data on the flavor characteristics of HSO.

    Abstract Visible light photodetectors are extensively researched with transparent metal oxide holes/electron layers for various applications. Among the metal oxide transporting layers, nickel oxide (NiO) and zinc oxide (ZnO) are commonly adopted due to their wide band gap and high transparency. The objective of this study was to improve the visible light detection of NiO/ZnO photodiodes by introducing an additional quantum dot (QD) layer between the NiO and ZnO layers. Utilizing the unique property of QDs, we could select different sizes of QDs and responsive light wavelength ranges. The resulting red QDs utilized device that could detect light starting at 635 nm to UV (Ultra-violet) light wavelength and exhibited a photoresponsivity and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 14.99 mA/W and 2.92% under 635 nm wavelength light illumination, respectively. Additionally, the green QDs, which utilized a device that could detect light starting at 520 nm, demonstrated photoresponsivity values of 8.34 mA/W and an EQE of 1.99% under 520 nm wavelength light illumination, respectively. In addition, we used X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) to investigate the origin of the photocurrents and the enhancement of the device's performance. This study suggests that incorporating QDs with metal oxide semiconductors is an effective approach for detecting visible light wavelengths in transparent optoelectronic devices.

    Abstract This study investigated the effects of oven-roasting temperature (160, 180, and 200 ℃) and time (5, 10, 15, and 20 min) on pomegranate seeds. Physicochemical properties, such as color (L*, a*, and b* values), browning index (BI), total phenolic and flavonoid contents, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging capacity, and chemosensory properties, including taste and volatile compounds, were analyzed. The L* and a* values, and level of sourness, umami, sweetness, and terpenes decreased, whereas the b* value, BI, and level of saltiness, bitterness, furan derivatives, pyrazines, and sulfur-containing compounds, increased with roasting time. The findings of this study showed that the positive roasting conditions for pomegranate seeds were 10-20 min at 160 ℃ and, 5-10 min at 180 ℃. This study is expected to be used as a primary reference for selecting the optimal oven-roasting conditions in which positive effects appear and for developing products utilizing pomegranate seeds.
