    Abstract Surgical site infections (SSI) following total joint arthroplasty pose a significant concern for both providers and patients across the globe. Currently, administration of antimicrobial antibiotic prophylaxis is used throughout the world to reduce the incidence of SSI. However, the correct dosage and frequency of administration remains debatable. In this editorial, we emphasized the determination of the effect of administration of weight-adjusted antimicrobial antibiotic prophylaxis regime on the incidence of SSI and postoperative dosage reduction compared to the conventionally used regime during total joint arthroplasty. The results demonstrated similar efficacy between both regimes with respect to the incidence of SSI. In addition, weight-adjustment led to reduced postoperative dosage and has the potential to reduce chances of achieving lower therapeutic concentration, drug resistance, drug toxicity, and costs.

    Abstract Abstract: Meningiomas are benign extra-axial tumors of the central nervous system. Extracranial meningiomas are extremely rare (2%) and can develop as a direct extension from a primary intracranial meningioma or as a true primary extracranial meningioma originating from ectopic arachnoid cells. We report an extremely unusual case of a 61-year-old woman who was diagnosed with pelvic meningioma with the help of PET/CT and PET/CT-guided biopsy. The clinicopathological features of the patient and immunoprofile of the tumor are presented.

    Abstract Background: Peroneus longus tendon (PLT) is a known graft utilised in the ligamentous reconstructions of knee. The current review was performed to analyze the available evidence regarding PLT in the arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.
    Methods: A comprehensive search of literature was performed on March 1, 2023 using 5 databases (for manuscripts published between 2010 and 2023). All studies reporting ACL reconstruction with PL graft in adults ≥18 years were considered; and final studies were shortlisted based on specific exclusion criteria.
    Results: The search identified 684 articles, among which 26 manuscripts were finally selected. PLT has been used in primary ACL reconstruction (ACLR), revision ACLR, ACLR in multiligamentous injuries and those at risk for anterior knee pain. The full-thickness PLT graft is variable in its dimensions with the mean size ranging between 7 and 8.8 mm (half-PLT grafts ≤8.1 mm). The ultimate strength of doubled PLT graft is significantly higher than native ACL and comparable to the quadrupled hamstring.There was statistically insignificant difference in the laxity and functional outcome of knee following ACLR with PLT, as compared with other autografts (p > 0.05). PLT harvest is associated with satisfactory clinical foot and ankle outcomes, as well as excellent regenerative ability. Overall, studies have demonstrated lower complications with PLT (p < 0.05).
    Conclusion: The dimensions of harvested PLT graft are more consistent than HT. It has similar functional outcome and survival, as compared to other autografts. It also has lower risk for donor-site morbidity and lower complications than HT. PLT is a promising, alternative autograft choice in patients undergoing ACLR.

    Abstract Globally, 25% of the population is infected with tuberculosis, which poses a leading cause of death worldwide. The transmission of tuberculosis (TB) during organ transplant is reported in the literature whereas only one report has been published on the transmission of TB, during bone allograft transplantation. In the US, in May 2021, an outbreak of TB occurred in patients undergoing spine surgery with bone allograft. This bone graft was retrieved from 80 years deceased donor with latent TB, which was not diagnosed earlier. The recipients were started with a long course of anti-tuberculous drugs. This review narrates the pathway of TB spread among transplant recipients and the strategies to be followed while performing organ or tissue transplantation.

    Abstract Gut microbiome (GM) forms an integral part of homeostasis of an individual. Due to the recent development of metagenomics, the plausibility of sequencing GM and its therapeutic ability for various diseases has been explored. Dysbiosis or disequilibrium or pertubations of GM leads to disruption of intercommunication signaling among gut-bone axis, gut-bone-brain axis, and gut-disc axis resulting in the progression of various chronic diseases. The therapeutic interventions to restore the GM like prebiotics and probiotics, bacteriophage therapy, fecal microbiota transplantation, and physical biomodulation have been identified. This review throw the lime light on the effect of gut dysbiosis in musculoskeletal diseases.

    Abstract The purpose of the study is to explore the antecedents of minimalism and, further, to study the impact of minimalism on millennials' well-being via a sense of fulfilment. To understand the origins of minimalism and its following effects on well-being, a theoretical framework is created. An online survey with a structured questionnaire was created to collect the necessary data from respondents. SMART PLS was used to analyse the suggested framework. This research establishes the mediating role of a sense of fulfilment in the interactions between minimalism and well-being and shows how environmental awareness, contemporary aesthetics, voluntary simplicity, normative influence, and resource sharing positively lead to minimalism. A minimalist lifestyle will help to preserve precious resources, reduce waste, and lower carbon emissions, all of which will have a significant positive influence on the environment. Additionally, clearing up clutter will give them more room and time, which will improve their well-being because they will have more time for their family and interests. The study suggests a thorough model to comprehend the origins of minimalism. Additionally, it established a connection between well-being and minimalism.
