    Abstract The $J/\psi \to \Xi^0 \bar{\Xi}^{0}$ process and subsequent decays are investigated using $(10087 \pm 44)\times 10^6$ $J/\psi$ events collected at the BESIII experiment. The decay parameters of $\Xi^0$ and $\bar{\Xi}^0$ are measured with greatly improved precision over previous measurements to be $\alpha_{\Xi} = -0.3750 \pm 0.0034 \pm 0.0016$, $\bar{\alpha}_{\Xi} = 0.3790 \pm 0.0034 \pm 0.0021$, $\phi_{\Xi} = 0.0051 \pm 0.0096 \pm 0.0018$~rad, $\bar{\phi}_{\Xi} = -0.0053 \pm 0.0097 \pm 0.0019$~rad, where the first and the second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. From these measurements, precise $CP$ symmetry tests in $\Xi^0$ decay are performed, and $A^{\Xi}_{CP} = (-5.4 \pm 6.5 \pm 3.1) \times 10^{-3}$ and $\Delta\phi^{\Xi}_{CP} = (-0.1 \pm 6.9 \pm 0.9) \times 10^{-3}$~rad are consistent with $CP$ conservation. The sequential decay also enables a separation of weak and strong phase differences, which are found for the first time to be $\xi_{P}-\xi_{S} = (0.0 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.2) \times 10^{-2}$~rad and $\delta_{P}-\delta_{S} = (-1.3 \pm 1.7 \pm 0.4)\times 10^{-2}$~rad, respectively. In addition, we measure the $\Lambda$ decay parameters and test $CP$ symmetry in $\Lambda$ decays.

Abstract The $\Xi^0$ asymmetry parameters are measured using entangled quantum $\Xi^0$-$\bar{\Xi}^0$ pairs from a sample of $(448.1 \pm 2.9) \times 10^6$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The relative phase between the transition amplitudes of the $\Xi^0 \bar{\Xi}^0$ helicity states is measured to be $\Delta \Phi = -0.050 \pm 0.150 \pm 0.020$~rad, which implies that there is no obvious polarization at the current level of statistics. The decay parameters of the $\Xi^0$ hyperon $(\alpha_{\Xi^0}, \alpha_{\bar{\Xi}^0}, \phi_{\Xi^0}, \phi_{\bar{\Xi}^0})$ and the angular distribution parameter $(\alpha_{\psi(3686)})$ and $\Delta \Phi$ are measured simultaneously for the first time. In addition, the $CP$ asymmetry observables are determined to be $A^{\Xi^0}_{CP} = (\alpha_{\Xi^0} + \alpha_{\bar{\Xi}^0})/(\alpha_{\Xi^0} - \alpha_{\bar{\Xi}^0})$ $= -0.007$ $\pm$ 0.082 $\pm$ 0.025 and $\Delta \phi^{\Xi^0}_{CP} = (\phi_{\Xi^0} + \phi_{\bar{\Xi}^0})/2$ $= -0.079$ $\pm$ 0.082 $\pm$ 0.010 rad, which are consistent with $CP$ conservation.

Abstract Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common gastrointestinal disease characterized by abdominal pain, distension, and altered bowel habits. Probiotics may alleviate IBS symptoms, but clinical trials remain conflicting.
Aims: To conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of probiotics for IBS patients.
Methods: We searched relevant trials in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar from 2000 to June 2023. Standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated for continuous outcomes. A risk ratio (RR) and a 95% CI were calculated for dichotomous outcomes.
Results: A total of 20 studies involving 3011 patients were obtained. The results demonstrated that probiotics are more effective than placebo in reducing global IBS symptoms improvement rate (RR = 1.401, 95% CI 1.182-1.662, P < 0.001) and quality of life scores (SMD = 0.286, 95% CI = 0.154-0.418, P < 0.001). Subgroup analyses showed that a shorter treatment time (less than eight weeks) could reduce distension scores (SMD = 0.197, 95% CI = 0.038-0.356, P = 0.015). High doses (daily dose of probiotics ≥ 10ˆ10) or multiple strains of probiotics exhibit beneficial effects on abdominal pain (SMD = 0.412, 95% CI = 0.112-0.711, P = 0.007; SMD = 0.590, 95% CI = 0.050-1.129, P = 0.032; respectively). However, there was no significant benefit on global symptom scores (SMD = 0.387, 95% CI 0.122 to 0.653, P = 0.004) with statistically high inter-study heterogeneity (I2 = 91.9%, P < 0.001). Furthermore, there was no significant inter-group difference in terms of adverse events frequency (RR = 0.997, 95% CI 0.845-1.177, P = 0.973).
Conclusion: Probiotics are effective and safe for IBS patients. High doses or multiple probiotic strains seem preferable, but definite conclusions are challenging due to the high heterogeneity. Large-scale, well-designed, and rigorous trials are needed to confirm their effectiveness.

Abstract This paper investigates the evolutionary dynamics of self-accelerating second-order Hermite complex-variable-function Gaussian (SSHCG) wave packets in a harmonic potential. The periodic variation of the wave packets is discussed via theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. The control variables method is applied to manipulate the distribution factor, cross-phase factor, potential depth, and chirp parameter, enabling the realization of unique propagation dynamics. In three-dimensional models, the SSHCG wave packets exhibit rotational states, featuring butterfly shape, three peaks shape, two polarity shape, elliptical shape, and ring-shaped double-vortex structures. Furthermore, the energy flow and the angular momentum of the wave packets are investigated. Additionally, the performance of the radiation force on a Rayleigh dielectric particle is studied. This investigation results in the emergence of distinct SSHCG wave packet propagation dynamics, and potential applications in optical communications and optical trapping are presented.

Abstract We have reported the precise methodology for fabricating graphene quantum dots through electroburning and performed measurements on the Coulomb blockade and oscillation phenomena. The diameters of graphene quantum dots can be estimated to range from several to tens of nanometers, utilizing the disk capacitance model and the two-dimensional quantum well model. By subjecting the quantum dots to a vertical magnetic field, an obvious alteration in conductance can be detected at the point of resonance tunneling. This observed phenomenon can be attributed to the modification in the density of states of Landau levels within the graphene leads. Moreover, by manipulating the gate voltage, it is possible to regulate the Fermi level of the lead, resulting in distinct magnetoresistance of different electron states. The presence of this lead effect may potentially disrupt the magnetic response analysis of graphene-based single-molecule transistors, necessitating a comprehensive theoretical examination to mitigate such interference.
