Abstract Background: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a multi-component cognitive behavioural intervention with proven efficacy in treating people with borderline personality disorder symptoms. Establishing benchmarks for DBT intervention with both adults and adolescents is essential for bridging the gap between research and clinical practice, improving teams' performance and procedures.
Aim: This study aimed to establish benchmarks for DBT using the EQ-5D, Borderline Symptoms List (BSL) and Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) for adults and adolescents.
Methods: After searching four databases for randomised controlled trials and effectiveness studies that applied standard DBT to people with borderline symptoms, a total of 589 studies were included (after duplicates' removal), of which 16 met our inclusion criteria. A meta-analysis and respective effect-size pooling calculations (Hedges-g) were undertaken, and heterogeneity between studies was assessed with I
Results: DBT aggregated effect sizes per subsample derived from RCTs and effectiveness studies are presented, along with critical values, categorised by age group (adults vs adolescents), mode of DBT treatment (full-programme vs skills-training) and per outcome measure (EQ-5D, BSL and DERS).
Conclusions: Practitioners from routine clinical practice delivering DBT and researchers can now use these benchmarks to evaluate their teams' performance according to their clients' outcomes, using the EQ-5D, BSL and DERS. Through benchmarking, teams can reflect on their teams' efficiency and determine if their delivery needs adjustment or if it is up to the standards of current empirical studies.

Abstract Nasogastric tube (NGT) insertion is widely used for enteral feeding. After blind insertion of a NGT, confirmation of correct placement prior to feeding using reliable methods is mandatory. NGT misplacement in the respiratory tract can lead to serious complications. We report a case of a patient with dysphagia and malnutrition that needed enteral feeding as nutritional support. A NGT was blindly inserted, and its gastric position was confirmed through air insufflation and epigastric auscultation. Enteral feeding was initiated. Few hours later, the patient presented with respiratory distress. An urgent thoracic computed tomography was requested due to suspiction of pulmonary embolism, which revealed the NGT in the respiratory tree and a pneumonia in the lower lobe of the right lung. The NGT was removed, a new insertion was attempted and its gastric position was confirmed by radiography. Enteral feeding was initiated uneventfully. This case highlights the need for use of reliable methods of confirming tube location in order to avoid complications of misplacement.

Abstract Introduction: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been used for arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs (aRCR), but no studies have addressed the impact of platelet concentration. The primary aim was to evaluate whether the PRP cell concentration has an effect on tendon healing after aRCR compared with surgery alone. The secondary aim was to assess the functional and pain outcomes.
Materials and methods: A systematic review was performed with searches in the MEDLINE (PubMed), Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane (Central) databases according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines. Metanalytic procedures were performed for randomized controlled trials (RCTs), and a subgroup analysis was used for studies with target (approximately 10 6 cells·μL -1 ) or below-target PRP cellular concentrations (app. 5 × 10 5 cells·μL -1 ) regarding the primary outcome of tendon healing.
Results: This review included 10 studies (8 RCTs) with 342 patients in the aRCR + PRP group and 344 patients with isolated aRCR. The risk of bias was low to intermediate (6/4, respectively). Meta-analysis of the RCT revealed that the aRCR + high-concentration PRP group had an approximately 3.9-fold higher chance of healing than the non-PRP group (odds ratio, 3.89; 95% confidence interval, 1.78-8.44; P = 0.0007). No significant difference in healing was found between the aRCR + low-concentration PRP and non-PRP groups (odds ratio, 2.21; 95% confidence interval, 0.66-7.45; P = 0.2). The Constant-Murley score and University of California Los Angeles scores were significantly improved in the aRCR + PRP groups with more than 12 months of follow-up, and no significant differences were found consistently for the American Shoulder and Elbow Society and visual analog scale scores.
Conclusions: This study highlights that a PRP cell concentration close to the target (10 6 cells·μL -1 ) of patients with aRCR may improve their healing and functional outcomes and that dosing may be potentially useful in therapy.

Abstract: Purpose: To evaluate the effect of tooth brushing and dentifrice fluoride (F-) concentration on changes in color and translucency (ΔE00 and ΔT00, respectively), surface gloss (GS), surface roughness (Sa), and microstructure of a glazed CAD/CAM ceramic.!# ...

Abstract Purpose: To evaluate the effect of tooth brushing and dentifrice fluoride (F-) concentration on changes in color and translucency (ΔE00 and ΔT00, respectively), surface gloss (GS), surface roughness (Sa), and microstructure of a glazed CAD/CAM ceramic.
Materials and methods: Ceramic blocks (e.max/CAD) were sectioned into rectangular plates (14 x 12 x 1 mm), and one surface of each sample was glazed. Samples were divided into three groups according to the F- concentration in the dentifrice (0, 1,100, and 5,000 μg/g) and were then subjected to 60,000 tooth brushing cycles. Luminosity and color were measured using a spectrophotometer at baseline and after every 20,000 cycles to obtain their ΔE00 and ΔT00 values. Another set of samples was prepared to measure the GS with a gloss meter and the Sa with a confocal laser microscope. The GS and Sa results were subjected to analysis of variance, Tukey test, and Dunnett test (α = .05).
Results: After 60,000 tooth brushing cycles, all of the variables were clinically acceptable, and there were no significant differences in the ΔE00, ΔT00, GS, or Sa among the fluoridated dentifrices. The GS values decreased significantly as the number of tooth brushing cycles increased.
Conclusion: The ΔE00, ΔT00, GS, and Sa values were all clinically acceptable after the glazed e.max/CAD ceramic had been subjected to 60,000 tooth brushing cycles with dentifrices containing up to 5,000 μg/g of F-.
